Just NO to Beebe. Short arms, slow. Can't run. Has no chance at OT and we have guards.

Seems like he isn’t that slow. And do we have guards?

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Right now my pick at 22 big board is basically

If Mitchell or Arnold fall, they are top on my board at 22. I don't think they will though.

Going based on opinions I've researched, if Fuaga, Fashanu, or Fautanu are there, I'd take either of those above the next best CB not named Mitchell or Arnold.

If the 3 F OT's are gone, Laitu Latu would probably be the best on the board if he's there IMO.

If all of those guys are gone, for me it's probably the next best CB, but just sitting there and taking the next best CB whether it's Wiggins or DeJean or McKinstry just feels like a lame and boring move. Either move up and get a stud(which the Eagles have had success with over the years) or move back and take one of the next best CBs a little later.

Also in the above scenario I'd consider Powers Johnson at 22 as well if all the initial names are gone.

DeJean may be a nice player, but is he a can't miss difference maker? If not, and the Eagles can get a 2nd rounder or a 3rd to move down, is he really an additional pick better than a Wiggins or a McKinstry?

My #1 pie on the sky desire for pick 22 is trading it for Patrick Surtain. Don't think he's available though.

Yeah — great college player for sure. Will probably be a good receiving TE in the NFL.

The fact remains that he is a 6’3” 240 pound TE with good but not freakish athleticism.

Yeah good thing we went for LJ Smith’s numbers instead of boring old jason witten…

If they take him in round 1 I’m hoping they just stick him at CB and be done with it. I don’t think they’d take him at round 1 to play safety anyway

If Malcolm Jenkins was a safety from day 1, would he have still been a 1st round pick? He wasn't bad as a CB, but he didn't flourish until he was moved to FS. I'm all for DeJean playing where he fits best based on team need until he settles in to what position his is best suited for.

Cooper is a MLB. Probably the cleanest product in the draft as far as injuries, plus athleticism, size, skills and production.

But which skills?

I think Nate Wiggins will be the best CB from this draft.  Can't teach the closing and makeup speed he's got.  I've been wrong about Clemson defensive players before, but he's played against and shut down better competition than some of the other top guys.

You have to wonder if trading 22 for a vet is in play. The Eagles are loaded with cap space and I'd imagine Howie could use that as an advantage and maybe front load a new contract for Surtain, but I'm anything but a cap pro.

I would probably agree that he is not available. But, at the same time, part of me thinks it’s not completely far-fetched.  Denver needs to recover from the Russell Wilson debacle. They need picks and a quarterback.  They aren’t getting a top quarterback at 12.  12 & 22?  It makes it more doable.

It would probably cost more than just our 22nd, however.  If it was just that, I’d do it today

Gonna have to prove he can hold up or he's gonna get run at and screened to death. Rough matchup against teams like the Niners.

Beebe was one of the faster guard prospects at 5.03 40 yard dash.  Also the fast 3 cone of the ones that tested.

You could well be right. I'm basing it on limited game cutouts. All the same, there is no way he can be a tackle at the next level and, as I said earlier, we have guards.

That arm length is a real issue for me. When he's facing a guy with significantly longer reach, he's at a huge disadvantage. That guy can stack and shed him easily. I got tired of seeing that happen to Jack Driscoll and his arms are longer than Beebe's.

@just relax

Perhaps its a matter of slow on the field.   I always take the numbers in shorts and T-shirts with a gigantic grain of salt.    If football players played in shorts and t-shirts... it would matter more.   But, sprinter's stance, shorts, t-shirts, straight line speed for 40 yards... meh.  Overrated.

True.

Bringing Maddox back seemed inevitable

Why waste the practice reps? He's gonna be better than all the nickel options they have and then get hurt by week 8.

With him and Hall they at least have multiple options NCB now. I don't think it deters them from drafting one, but if they go CB early, I think ideally it's an outside guy. If the board doesn't fall their way this could buy them a year to address NCB if worst comes to worst. I still think/hope upgrading starting CB is a top priority. Whether it's trade or draft. A serious team can't have Bradberry starting week 1 and can't leave it up to Ringo or Rodgers either.

As long as it doesn’t change their mindset that corner still needs to be addressed, I’m fine with Maddox as depth.

Is Gamblor not being reinstated?  Maddox is a guy they could have brought in using the Suh or Joseph method.  At least that way his season-ending injury might happen when the season is actually over.

I like Hennessey a lot. He was terrific at Temple. He was very good at Atlanta before knee injuries. If he's healthy, we're good there.

He has competition this year at NCB.

That’s the thing. We can’t bank on that, and what do we have behind him? He’s a great depth piece and spot starter/stopgap. We can’t count on him as the answer.

I have no problem bringing him back and even counting on him to start. I think the guy from the Raiders can be a good backup. It’s also a great nickel draft.
