That would be a bizzaro version of the Kardashians.  KELCE would feature two talented, hard working people and their surrounding family.  The Kardashians, OTOH, are human trash devoid of talent or any useful purpose at all.

Bc the receiver will be useless blocking and doesnt offer the optionality that will help the run game

Based on what? There are plenty of receivers who are better blockers than Bowers, and unlike Bowers, they will always be split out wide with a CB covering them, meaning the defense gets smaller.

Watching these again.  Some really good matchups..  Sweat - Texas is a monster he just folds some dudes up (see 12 seconds in).  Darius Robinson always seemed to have good reps.  Fiske's reps made me a little nervous.  My guy Brandon Coleman looked like trash.  Javion Cohen is another guy who intrigues me but think he spent most of time at LG.

Gimme some Darius Robinson.. I wish he would drop to 50

What a great contract. 22M/Y is not a lot for an OT of that level.

I bet it has 75 void years.  Howie Sux!!!

I assume Smith is the next contract that gets done. Curious what he gets considering there's a ton of potential but he's the #2 behind Brown

It's the 4th highest OT contract in the league, and not that far off from the 1st

It's an extension that kicks in next year. By the time he's at the end of it, lots of guys will pass it (Darrisaw, Sewell, Wirfs, etc.)

That's literally how every contract works

Think of it this way - when we signed him in 2022, the salary cap was $208.2 million. He signed a 4 year, $64mm contract so a $16 million AAV. In 2024, the salary cap is $255.4 million, so with just inflation the AAV would be $19.6 million. For $22 million AAV in 2026 to be equivalent to $16 million in 2022, the 2026 salary cap would need to hit ~$286mm, or growth of ~5.9% per year the next 2 years. The cap grew at ~10.8% per year from 2022-2024, and while 2024 was an outlier, just under 6% per year makes sense.

Arguably, looking at AAV as a % of the cap, this contract is cheaper than his last one.

Gimme all the Howie's

Now, if Jalen Carter (23), Jordan Davis (24), Nolan Smith (23), Milton Williams (25 in 2 days), Kelee Ringo (22 in June), Sydney Brown (24) and Nakobe Dean (23) can all be the core of the defense that would be great.

Two of the better ones from that network.  Siciliano goes as host, but Brandt and Schrager stay??

James Palmer does a better job that the majority of their other reporters.

I like Kyle Brandt.  He's a TV personality not a reporter.  They are letting Melissa Stark go too.

The NFL Network are making some strange decisions at the moment.  Moving GMFB to LA and then firing a bunch of talent comes across like a company struggling for cash; the NFL are raking it in at the moment. I suppose they are getting younger to suit a modern audience.

Brandt is a tone change from the some blander side of the NFL Network.  But I can't see him staying there for long -as for Shrager, he is well connected but I can't work out why he has stayed at GMFB other than it being local to home.

They have been trying to sell NFL Media, which owns NFL Network, but there is a tepid market. So instead they are drastically cutting costs as it has been a money loser.

I should have added that I've been making the nickel corner argument for a while now.

But you knew that.

So, thank you again.

No problem.

I'm still not ready to buy in, but out of respect for differing opinions from bright football guys like kollman and yourself,  I share the other side of the argument as it is worth considering.

I'm not trying to imply it's a bad contract at all. It's fair market value for him. I just don't agree with the "not a lot for a OT" part.

He wants as much as Brown or more.

Interesting. Stefon Diggs will be a FA after the season.
