While teams are trying to convince DJ Burns to be a LT in the NFL, I'm wondering what it would take to get Elly De La Cruz to try WR. 6-5 200 and can MOVE.

Being a baseball player > being a football player. More money + guaranteed contracts + less long-term health issues.

Correct, IMO.  I'd be quite surprised if any of them went in the top 15.  Most have Quinyon Mitchell as the best CB, but I'd prefer look at his tape outside of the 4 interceptions some numbskull threw to him in the same game.  He's a good prospect, no question, but the level of competition he was playing against wasn't that high, week-to-week.

Personally, I prefer Nate Wiggins.  He has the physical skills and he's got a lot of tape playing against the best WRs in this current draft class.  At 175 lbs he's not going to be a physical CB, but he's the best coverage guy -- by a wide margin -- IMO.

They’ve invested absurd draft capital in beef up front.  Light non physical DBs is a luxury they better be able to afford.

Concerning Australia, we have the hubble telescope taking pictures of everything in the "universe", why can it take a picture of downunder showing building, ships, planes, oceans, trees and etc upside down? Just know, "because it's a lie" is an option you have.

I know I’m on ignore because I used to point out your stupidity on a regular basis, but the Hubble telescope is not in use to debunk flat earth BS. Further more, you’re not making the point you think you’re making seeing as how neither the Hubble nor the James Webb Telescopes ever take pics of buildings or airplanes anywhere else, so pointing out that it doesn’t take pics of buildings or planes in Australia is a moot point.

I know, just being dumb. I would like to see him as a Phillie one day. One of the most exciting players in the game, but still needs to put it all together.

He had such a rough championship game that I assumed he was a JAG. I was stunned to see him projected to go in the second round.

I don't think Wiggins' size will be an issue.

Is he serious about the flat earth. He thinks that buildings would be upside down in Austrialia if the Earth was round and sattelites took a picture from space?

Couple of questions, when the the Moon is in its half-moon phase, is the other half there?  If so, has there been any sort of instrument that can detect it?  When the half-moon phase can be seen during daylight (both the Sun and Moon are in the sky), where's the other half of the Moon and why can't we see if the Sun is illuminating it?

During the conjunction (when there's no Moon visible every month), is it there, has anyone been able to detect it during conjunction.  BTW, the eclipse occurs during conjunction, just prior to the New Moon (that first sliver of the Moon during its waxing phase)  Here's the really strange thing, during the eclipse both the Moon and the Sun are in the sky but the Moon is never seen approaching the Sun until we see the Sun beginning to turn black.

Point being, those two bodies of light are mysterious and it's OK to admit that we have no idea what's going on.

Getting the guilty pleasure of reading EagleVA's absurd Dunning-Kruger hot takes was not on my TATE bingo card today, but I'm here for every second of it.

It's almost like the suns light is hitting the side of the moon facing away from us.

But that's just silly talk.

But we do know what's going on, the orbits of the planets and moons of the solar system are established scientific fact, as are the behaviors of light and they can be described accurately by your local high school astronomy and physics clubs.

Your question is like asking why don't people in Australia fall off the ground if they're on the bottom of the Earth.

Pease no.  Many of us have already been down that road with him....

If the Earth is flat and you are in Virginia, tell me how many fingers am I holding up.

I tried to warn you all…

If Eagles are playing in Brazil, shouldn't the players be running on a sloped field?

That's what I thought.

Sometimes this helps.  Most times, not:

Sometimes he’s so over the top, it’s hard to tell, but he is a known believer in conspiracies and contrarian.

Yes. It's hilarious.

But can you name an instrument to DETECT it Paco?  How do you KNOW that the sun isn't a curled up sky serpent temporarily eating itself on a predictable schedule? Check mate.

Wiggins is 6'1 3/8.  His frame can easily get into a weight room and be 185 lbs.  The extra mass might slow him from a 4.28 to a 4.35.

Tell that to Sydney Jones.  He couldn’t add to his 180 pounds to save his soul. I have sworn off too skinny CBs.

That wasn't Jones' problem though.

He was soft AND couldn't cover.

Question for draftniks - I've seen DeJean,Mitchell,  McKinstry, ranked #1, #2, #3.  I have not seen Arnold on that list, but OK.  It seems like there is no consensus top CB in the draft?  Lots of guys that are similar talent, late 1st rounders?

add Wiggins to your list.  remove "late" from "late 1st rounders".   Some have some of those players as gone before 22.

Mock draft database - Cooper DeJean - 21
https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/players/2024/cooper-dejean

A number of mock drafts came out yesterday,  4/8.   5 of those mock drafts had Cooper DeJean going to the Eagles at 22.

Arnold - 11
Mitchell -12
DeJean - 21
Wiggins - 22
McKinstry - 25

It's not a good defensive draft in general for any defensive position. It's not like other years with clear top guys, it's more based on preference and style. There's some good prospects mixed in there but it's more quantity than quality.

Decent S draft for what the Eagles are seeking.  Safety 4 with nickel skills that can develop.  Good nickel corner draft and some interesting developmental CBs.  Actually might not be a bad draft for back up NT. Some intriguing depth edge prospects that may or may not pan out (not good for starter quality).  Eagles are kicking tires on some of those Ss and CBs.

I'm a fat earther, I believe the Earth is fat.

He could cover.  He actually displayed some good mirroring but would bite constantly which took away from that ability. But he could be bullied because of his size. That was a huge drawback because he lost some agility and speed from his injury.

Had another dream about the draft. Not sure why I keep having them, I was more fired up last year and didn't have any.

This time I had a dream the pick got to 22 and the Eagles took Cooper DeJean and everyone here was happy and I was annoyed. And then for whatever reason we found out the Eagles traded down to 25 and the pick wasn't actually made by the Eagles. The trade was just reported really late. And then I was happy we didn't get DeJean and everyone here was pissed that we traded down. And a bunch of really good players were still on the board. Eagles got a 3rd rounder to move down 3 spots.

Then at pick 25 the Eagles took Zach Frazier, and then the next two picks at 26 were Amarius Mims and pick 27 was Nate Wiggins and then everyone was equally pissed.
