It is 100% irrelevant what the Flyers are doing on the ice - winning, losing or just standing around.  The schedule says that the space is theirs to use.

You think it would be cool for the Phillies to tell the Eagles they can't play on a given Sunday because they have a play-in game for the playoffs?   (obviously, this would have to go back to the days when they both played at the Vet.).  Of course not.

The tickets were sold for a specific date long long ago.   There's no reason to reschedule the Flyers' game.  The Sixers can find another date in the calendar where the building is available.    Just like they would find a way to accommodate both teams if they both made the playoffs.  You don't bump one team out of a scheduled game to make space for the other.

And while you don't see the value in the Flyers... that doesn't matter to business.   The business side of this says, "The Flyers had the building scheduled for them.   The Flyers own the building.  So, the Flyers are going to play their game as scheduled, and the Sixers are going to have to work around that."   No big deal, really.

And if this really has you so upset that you are shaking... seek professional help.  The reality is that this is a nothing matter.   Tuesday, Wednesday... who really cares which day the game is played?   It hasn't been scheduled yet.  It will take place... IF it has to... whenever it does.

No because the Phillies play for a fringe sport.  This is all as absurd as it was when the Ravens won the Super Bowl but had to open the season in Denver because the Oreios had a game in Baltimore on the night that the NFL Thursday Night season opener was.

Top dog teams shouldn't have to move their schedules around for lesser sports teams that are playing more important games.

If you want to talk about business, the Soxers at home in a play in game would sell out while the Flyers embarrassing end to their season will be half empty at best.

yep. For some reason though, the mods like him. I suspect he sends them shirtless pics.

I did not know- Jha'Quan Jackson is Ed Reed's nephew.

I also did not know on of my sleepers, Tre Taylor is Ed Reed's cousin. He also plays safety. So....

Titans are now paying big money to DHop and Ridley. We should offer them a 5 for Burks, would be funny

I think we will get a better 5th round WR than Burks who is a bust.

Kind of my thinking. His size and strength didn’t translate to the NFL, but his lack of timed speed did.

It feels like CAR giving away this year’s #1 overall pick by stupidly trading up for a 5’10 185 lb Bryce Young means they’re not going to sit the entire first round out this year.  Trading #22 for 33 and 65 still makes some sense for both sides.  Howie can’t just sit at #22 with his woeful track record of picking in that spot.  He should be terrified of it.

Trading up for one of the better OT might still be Plan A, but if the board doesn’t fall right a trade with CAR might be Plan B.

I will say if the Eagles don't get their Lane replacement this year, they better hope he plays 3 more years, because if it's only two years they're running out of time. You'd have the next two drafts, and there's no guarantee they will be strong OT classes, and if they are, there might not be one of the top guys in their range. And if they were to not get one next year, drafting a guy in 2026 you'd be asking him to come in as a rookie and play immediately, which is always tough. Especially in a division with Parsons and Burns. And for all we know Lane could get banged up this year and call it a career a year early. Then they'd really be SOL.

And even in the short term, either Steen or Fred Johnson are their backups right now, there's no way they're cool with that.

Unless they think Stoutland is so good he can mold anyone into a stud, but I think that's dangerous territory. He's a good OL coach, he's not a god. Driscoll, Dillard, and some others never amounted to anything under him and Steen in 2023.

If they want to get a stud replacement for Lane, round 1 in a couple weeks is the time to do it.

They're not getting a stud OT at 22, which means they would have to trade up. You can trade up in any draft, they do not need to draft Lane's replacement this year. Next year, sure. Drafting a guy potentially 3 years away from regular playing time would be a disaster. So then you have to hope they can play guard at a high level until Lane retires, and if they can't then you have Andre dillard (playing time wise). So they ride the pine for 2-3 years and then you have to hope they live up to the billing, and if they don't then you're drafting another OT in the 1st in 2-3 years anyway.

I think Suamataia is going to be a stud. He should be available at 22 (I have my personal doubts, but this is a deep class and consensus says he’s a late first or early second rounder… not everyone can be a top 21 pick).

He's going to take some time to develop but he has all the potential in the world - size, length, agility, power and balance. Give him a redshirt year and I’m confident he could step in as a pro bowl type guard until Lane retires, at which point he should develop into a franchise RT.

100% this, All the first round Tackle prospects this year need work on their technique for the Pro's and you could give them 2 years at Guard then find they can't play outside, you can find that level of guy in every draft.

Also Lane started his first year, 1st round tackles do that all the damn time, the idea that we need someone to sit behind Lane and learn for a couple of years first baffles me, if you want a project to sit behind him and learn you don't go first round. you get someone like Morgan in the second or trade down from 53 and pickup Blake Fisher.

I’ve been saying for a while I think the Eagles are going to push in this draft. They are in a Super Bowl window right now. Howie isn’t worried about building a sustained team for the next 3-5 years. He’s looking at 2 more good shots at the Super Bowl and then rebuild in 2026.

I would hope Howie would realise you can compete all the time if you draft and manage the cap well. It's not a question of 'this is the window and then we have to rebuild', you restock and refresh the roster in the draft and accept the odd cap casualty here and there.

What does a "push" look like to you?  For me it would look like DB, LB, and WR with the first 3 picks, or DB, LB, RG.

He’s doing both. He’s already gathering extra picks in 2026 and setting the team up for a quick successful rebuild/retool/whatever you want to call it. I don’t think he’s selling out for the next 2 years.

I see them targeting players that have higher floors and not necessarily the highest ceiling or like you mentioned picking positions higher than they are normally comfortable with like DBs and LBs.

I don’t think Howie is going to do anything drastic, but I can see them straying a bit from their draft philosophy.

Likely true.   BUT... there is the possibility that they will convince themselves that a certain player is the difference maker, because of their need and not because of the talent in the player.  It has happened before.

How many low upside, productive non-athletic guys are in this 1st round that we need to be worried about? I dont really feel like they can end up with a Barnett, Smith, or Watkins at pick 22.

I hear ya... but then again... no one thought Jon Harris would end up in Round 1 either.
