Tough draft to get a read on.  Some would say the craziest in 30 years.  From what I have read, mocks etc this is what I am thinking.

Trade up candidates;  Latham, Verse, Latu, Mitchell, Arnold, Fautanu, Fashanu

#22 candidates:  Mims, DeJean, Powers-Johnson, Wiggins, Barton, McKinstery, Guyton

Still convinced that they go OL or DL in the 1st.  And I don't blame them.  Game is won in the trenches and they eat up a huge chunk of salary cap to replace.  Yeah, I would like a DB but I don't think they go there.  If they do, please for love of whoever you pray to, can they hit on one lol.

I’m guessing he’s likely not going to be thrilled with the idea heading into 2025 with no guaranteed money left in his deal. I think that day where he asks for an extension is coming after this upcoming season.

I'm not sure the Eagles want to go into 2025 with his cap hit at $26million either, they 1000% definitely don't want the $41.5million cap hit in '26, it will either be restructure or trade at the end of this year. If Brown goes in to '25 with no guaranteed money the whole season will be him drama queening on social media.

We'd be wasting 2 year of a rookie OT contract on someone who isn't playing OT, so you've got 2 years of not knowing if he can replace Lane, then even if he can having a big money extension to write within 2 years.

It’s actually a little sad watching Devonta Smith highlights. Guy creates more separation as a receiver than I’ve ever seen, and Hurts literally underthrows him every single time. Glad he got paid, but he would get paid a lot more if he had a QB that could throw the football.

Yep. Guy could've easily had another few hundred yards and TDs just this past season if Hurts didn't noodle arm half of his deep throws.

What? They have Midnight Green, a color custom for the Philadelphia Eagles banned? Or they have green banned, which the Packers also wear?

NFL out doing itself.

Maybe. That's assuming that Lane stays healthy and he's been banged up a lot as of late.

He has shown some bad looks in certain situations, but I'd hardly label him a head case. It simply boils down to maturity. The hope for every player is that he continues to mature. A guy like T.O. never seemed to mature as time progressed, so with him, the antics became baggage. With Brown, sure he reacted to situations in ways where the media can turn them into distractions, but he seems smart enough to see this and has tried to take a couple measures to minimize the chance of repeating the same things.

I kind of feel like teams put captain labels on some players a little too early. So as fans, we see them as leaders and when a little immaturity comes out we tend to make a big deal of that.

I’m actually impressed how he handled the end of the year situation…that was a huge step forward for him.  Up until then he’s been a wild card.

Playing 5 games against the Rockies and White Sox (combined 6 wins between the two teams).   The opportunity to 'get right' is there in front of them.

Agreed, but they punted last night against a pitcher with a 6 plus ERA.  In fact, his ERA dropped by almost a full run after last night.  Not too concerned at this point.

It’s not just because it’s Harbaugh but it is. They’re going to go OL in a big way and I think they’ll be the AFC team I’ll root for. I like that style of football.

I’m curious to see how they draft…i think Herbert will look like the QB people say he is sometimes.  That team needs a lot though.  There is only 2 QBs in the league that you can tell to go out there and throw 40 times a game consistently and expect results.  Mahomes and Burrow…Allen and Herbert can be great, but not under unrealistic expectations.  Granted, Burrow has gotten the Andrew Luck treatment with his OL.

Apparently Justin Simmons might be waiting til the draft is over to sign with a contender.

He should!

But the safety class is bad, so it likely won't change the landscape much for him.

The most Eagles of all Eagles contracts. He's an Eagle for at least 3 years.

This is what I was hoping from Davis or Smith

Nolan Smith had off-season shoulder surgery, listed as "maintenance", so could be why he's not look as buff as some assumed he'd be.  Can't speak for Davis being a porker or not while he is wearing a hoodie.

I'd assume with Davis, Hurtt will be riding him all off season to get in better shape. And may even personally challenge him to conditioning workouts.

Well Phase 1 is designed to help them with targeted nutrition, strengthening, maintenance and speed.  The Eagles did hire some of the best in those roles.

So no more excuses, a position new coach and stepping up as a leader will hopefully have someone like Davis on his best behaviour. We'll see

We both know he’s not the kind of guy to bash a coach.  He just seemed very genuine about his level of respect for Sirianni.

Again, I get the doubt about Sirianni.  I still have some.  It’s certainly logical to have some.   I just still give him some benefit of the doubt.

Of course Kelce's not the kind of guy to bash a coach.  Which is the whole point.  His endorsement doesn't mean a whole lot to me, because he's never come out critical of the coaching staff... and that's to his credit.  But, it invalidates the argument of his endorsement of Sirianni, because he's endorsed ALL his coaches, at all times, going back to his rookie year with Andy Reid.

My greatest hope for the season is that Sirianni goes into the Howie Roseman Memorial broom closet and stays out of the way of Fangio and Moore.  Let them do their thing.  And at the end of the year, we see that Moore is what he's been rumored to be for a while, and he's ready for the next step.   Having tested Moore as OC here and giving him full control of the offense, he would show himself to be ready to step into the HC job and we move on from Sirianni.  My greatest concern is that Moore shows out, the offense blooms... and he gets hired away as an HC, and we go back to the 2021/2023 Sirianni stagnant offense again.

To me, Sirianni has proven one thing to me... he's not an offensive mind.  He's a rah rah guy.  But, having a rah rah guy leaves you dependent on the coordinators to run things.   When we had Steichen, it worked.  When Steichen left, it failed.   We are in danger of a repeat of that if we keep our wagon hitched to Sirianni.   OCs get poached more than DCs.

DeJean at 22 smoke is getting stronger, but in that scenario I think we take Mims.

Would suck to see Washington and the gnats to get decent quarterbacks

I really think it's possible and that he'd be a safety here. It's one of Fangio's critical components to his defense and I think that would be the reasoning behind the selection. I do not think he'd be a pure outside corner.

I have talked myself into wanting Latu.  He's a high motor type of guy that I could see being very successful here.  I'm concerned about medicals, but I assume if we picked him that means he's good enough.

Not the same color, for sure, but similar.....actually closer to the Packers color

One thing I would note on the whole Davis is a big fatty who's not fit enough to play professional football debate, is that last year he played more defensive snaps than every DT on the 49ers apart from Hargrave and every DT on the Chiefs apart from Chris Jones, and he played more Special Teams snaps on top than any DT on the roster of either.

It was our rotation that was wrong last year, in 2022 we brought in Joseph and Suh at week 10 to ease the pressure on the rotation and they took on a big workload down the stretch, this year we brought in nobody and had the most brutal game in years against the Bills in week 12. We had 4 DT's play over 490 snaps and none of the Conference Championship teams had more than 2.

Wait, we can do that!?!  We should ban the color combination of 'Silver and Blue' in Philly due to our intense rivalry with the Cowboys.  What does Palmeiras wear when they play?

I also do not understand why we are playing a 'home' game in Brasil.  The NFL needs to get over this whole making football happen in other places thing.

Every single year they tell us in these pre-draft mocks that QBS ARE GOING HIGH! and most years that turns out to be false.  We will see.

The passer rating dip for Hurts stands out most when you examine his two-year rates. His 2023 EPA per dropback and passer rating were basically the same in 2021 (0.07 EPA rate, 87.2 passer rating). Can new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who’s on his third team in three season, revamp this offense? I’m also still trying to wrap my head around Pickett being Hurts’ backup
