That's confident Howie. Bodes well for next week. You can tell when Howie is in Howie szn mode based on mood.

That's because he's not on the clock

I don't know who it was but props for whoever asked that Reddick question that Howie straight up refused to answer.

Howie making fools out of these reporters.  Dominating performance. Elite.

What was the question?

Someone asked about trading Reddick, Howie gave a non answer besides he saw it as "win-win" for both sides.

Someone followed up and asked how he views it as a win for the Eagles to get a conditional 3rd 2 years from now while getting rid of one of your best defensive players still under contract. Howie got mad and said "it's not conditional, we're getting a pick. That's an unfair question" and pouted over it.

I’m curious to see how they draft…i think Herbert will look like the QB people say he is sometimes.  That team needs a lot though.  There is only 2 QBs in the league that you can tell to go out there and throw 40 times a game consistently and expect results.  Mahomes and Burrow…Allen and Herbert can be great, but not under unrealistic expectations.  Granted, Burrow has gotten the Andrew Luck treatment with his OL.

The smart money says they draft Harrison Jr. I say they draft Alt, maybe after a small move down.

The reporter will probably think twice before trying to make Howie explain elite moves next time.

I do like him quite a bit, despite the size. Same for Murphy whom I like even a tad bit more.

Yup.  And shame on Howie for that garbage answer... and shame on the reporter for not pressing him when he said if you want to get into blah blah, then we can do that.  The simple response back to him is...

This is why the Philly media sucks.  They tried to press Howie... and they let him dance away.  This was the press conference to grill him on the Reddick move.   Make him actually defend it.   How does trading Hasaan Reddick for a pick more than two drafts away make the team better?

Remember... the rumblings out of NovaCare is that this draft will be an immediate impact push... so why weaken your team in the immediate moment?

Which is why these PCs are nothings.  They don't want to say anything... and the media doesn't know how to really press him into answering a question.   Make him sweat some more and actually have to address the question by asking it three, four, five times in a row, if necessary.

Would be stunned if the Colts don't take him in the 2nd. He's basically their prototype.

  False.  But, I know how hard it is for you to be critical of Howie.

And that's when someone needed to pick up the mantle and carry it forward and press him and call him out for his inane response.

They had the correct approach. They asked and they followed up. Howie wasn’t going to answer so why waste one of the few times a year you get to talk to the GM? They have other stories to work on throughout the week.

Not sure what people want Howie to say.  "He said he'd hold out if he didn't get a $25M per year extension, so we told him to pound sand."

While certainly not totally accurate, I'm sure that's pretty much the gist of what transpired.

Not much talk in here about Jarrian Jones from FSU.  Smaller arms so probably best suited for slot duty

Yeah, the question had to be asked and the follow up needed to be asked. Howie should have just explained the win-win comment as a clarification, but I took it to mean a win for the Jets because they got a good player and a win for the Eagles because they got a good draft asset and felt good about their edge rushers. I’m pretty sure Howie calls all his trades win-wins and talks about getting deals done that are advantageous to both teams.

That’s a good arm length for a corner. Dan Quinn is an arm length snob and wants his corners at 32-33.

I didn't even watch.  I am working.  Just had to support the top GM in the league.

He is consensus slot#2 in this draft behind Sainstril.

Slot which is why we haven't discussed him much.  We have mostly focused the discussion on  outside guys.

Who is the best slot guy you think will be available in round 4?

Personally speaking, there's nothing I want him to say. I just think he should be held accountable and pressed when he wants to push his narrative on the situation, which he was.
