  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Is there a discernable difference between Roman Wilson and Ricky Pearsall?  Both have a draft profile rating almost identical (6.35 for Wilson, 6.32 for Pearsall) saying they'll eventually be a plus-starter.  They're very close to the same size, Wilson ran 4.39 at the Combine, Pearsall 4.41.  Pearsall tested as the better athlete in agility drills (42" vertical, best 3-cone among WRs, etc.)

Lance Zierlein on the NFL.com website seemed to prefer Wilson by quite a lot, but I struggle to see what he does better.  They're both slot guys, neither one seems to make people miss in the open field.  Wilson does appear more able to run away from tacklers, but Pearsall seems better on deep routes.  Pearsall also looks quite adept at the jet sweeps that Kellen Moore likes to run.

Ricky just seems to be an all around smooth pass catcher and capable of ridiculous grabs. Not saying Wilson doesn't catch the ball well either but Ricky pops off the screen IMO.

For Mims.

Or an Edge rusher. That's their MO. Obvious choice would be DB but that's not their style. I will be pleasantly shocked if they go against the grain this year though and go DB.

I wouldn't be upset with having either. I would take Pretty Ricky over Wilson though if there were a choice.

He has a Brandon Boykin feel to his game. Man, what a player I thought he was gonna be.

I like both, but I’ve cooled on Wilson a bit based on Matt Harmon’s Reception Perception charting (basically, Wilson is a sucky route runner).

Age is a huge issue IMO when analyzing these guys.

Pearsall turns 24 when the season begins, and he hasn’t been all that productive in college. Wilson isn’t young either and also hasn’t been productive, but he turns 23 in June.

I was getting Sheldon Brown vibes watching him. Seems like he doesn't mind... like... tackling people.
Maybe it's because of the first hit in this reminding me of Brown vs Bush :D

That's confident Howie. Bodes well for next week. You can tell when Howie is in Howie szn mode based on mood.

I wonder how much Adderall he has snorted?

Howie's too prudish for such behavior. Nick is the one who doesn't sleep for like 3 days

They had the correct approach. They asked and they followed up. Howie wasn’t going to answer so why waste one of the few times a year you get to talk to the GM? They have other stories to work on throughout the week.

Because he said, (paraphrase) 'if you want to get into all the other stuff that went into the decision, rather than discussing the move in a vacuum' (direct quote) "we can do that".  That was the window... let him speak on that then.  He said he would... so, open the door for him to do just that, rather than move on.

Of course, he won't... but he's the one that put out there that he could.

Why waste one of the few times a year you get to talk to the GM?   Anything else they asked about (specifically the draft), he wasn't going to actually talk about at all... competitive advantage and all that.   So, the Reddick move is the top topic that he could actually talk about, without giving up competitive advantage.

Who is the best slot guy you think will be available in round 4?

I had Andru Phillips as a 4th rounder.  Shows how much I know now that he's being talked about as a 1st round target.

Other than him,  I'll say Renardo Green.

Howie went to college in Florida.  How could he not have done drugs?

Yeah I'm not so sure why EDGE isn't a more common first round choice in our mocks. We lost Reddick, BG is gone soon, Sweat had issues last year and was almost traded. That leaves Huff and Smith at a premium position.

Don't get me wrong. I'd also prefer a DB. Or maybe a stud OL with inside/outside versatility ala Latham. But of the positions the Eagles look to draft early (OL, DT, EDGE, and WR) edge rusher is arguably in the worst shape of all of them looking long term.

He's a fancy executive.  They don't do Adderall. They do cocaine.

Howard Eskin accosted Vic Fangio at the Phillies game.

Howie would just flip the drugs to someone else for profit

Not really a proper comparison, IMO.  My guess is 6'6 and 303 lbs would have given a higher RAS in 2013 when Lane was a prospect.

Yup, Mims is so freaky I singled him specifically but yeah if he’s gone OL/DL has been the formula (but I’d prefer Dejean for the most part amongst the usual suspects).
