  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

They often draft guys who visit or meet with at the combine. This year very heavy on CB/OL. I'd be stunned if either wasn't the first rounder.

I would throw Latu into that mix as well. If he is on the board, I don't see us passing on him.

Howie trying to take credit yesterday for Rasul Douglas is some funny stuff, as if drafting to actually fit your coordinator’s defense is beside the point.

The pinnacle of his professional career... but he's going to disrespect it?    Nah.

I've been saying it for years.   People have tried to credit Howie for Jordan Poyer for years... and yet, that selection provided the Eagles with pretty much zero value.   He did nothing here.  He went to Cleveland and did nothing there.   Then ended up in Buffalo and excelled.   It had nothing to do with Howie and the selection provided the Eagles with absolutely no return on their investment.

"I bought Intel at $6 a share... then sold it at $5.90... but I knew it was going to be big one day."   I'm an investment genius!

A snippet from Kempski that I probably don't disagree with.

7) How does this year compare to previous years in terms of being able to guess what will happen before the Eagles' first-round pick?

"There's always going to be something different that happens in front of you or behind you that you didn't anticipate," Roseman said. "I feel really good about where the players are going to come off around the first 25 picks. That doesn't mean there's going to be some moment in the first round where I go, 'Whoa.' But I feel good about that. I think that when you're picking in the middle of the second round, there are probably a little bit more curve balls that come your way, but we will be prepared for it.

"We don't do many 'best outcome' scenarios. We work with, 'This will be the worst case,' and even in our worst case situation at 22, 50, and 53, we'll be able to improve this football team."

#JimmySays: With the exception of the disastrous 2014 draft when the worst case scenario (Marcus Smith) became the reality, Roseman has proven to be very good at reading what is likely to happen before the Eagles' pick.

I also thought it was noteworthy that Roseman felt that the unpredictability of the first round will begin after the first 25 or so picks, which in my mind means that he believes that there is a dropoff in talent after roughly 25 players. If that read is right (and if Roseman is being honest about where the unpredictability begins), a trade back feels unlikely to me.

I doubt he has interest in just being a DC (especially at his age), after running the entire show for so long.

Just tell him he's the head coach and gm but he has to call the defense .

If the top CBs, OL are gone and DeJean is gone, I think he's very possible. He's been linked to the Broncos by several people though. Wonder if Denver takes him that early.

Yeah - it's ridiculous to call it disrespectful.  It's not like he threw it away in disgust.  He lost it on accident and he's upset about it.  Not sure how anyone can reach disrespectful as the proper way to describe this

according to the Urban Dictionary’s top-rated definition for "trolling,” it can be defined as:

"the deliberate act, (by a Troll – noun or adjective), of making random unsolicited and/or controversial comments on various internet forums with the intent to provoke an emotional knee jerk reaction from unsuspecting readers to engage in a fight or argument."

Jim Schwartz and rookies!

I think it would be a strange pick for Denver. They have a decent lineup of pass rushers.

Huh? It's been like 6 months. Still trying to get healthy vs. preparing for the season isn't a good thing for him.

:offtopic:

Real Madrid @ Manchester City just started.

Two best teams in the world with the two best managers. Winner will be the favorite to go on and win the European title.

Last match was fantastic, ending 3-3 with three world class goals.

I think 6 months of rehab is pretty normal after a surgery for a lis franc injury.

I only root for Falso Madrid.

I think I mentioned him a long time ago but Cam Hart is still a name I have my eye on for CB... What do you guys think of him.  Has good size, was Captain at Notre Dame so has some leadership skills, and good in Zone coverage.  Not saying he's Surtain II just putting their measurements next to each other.

  • Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #38. He wrote "The 6-2 1/2, 205-pounder from Maryland has remarkable tools, broad-jumping 11-2, vertical-jumping 38 inches and hitting 21.7 mph on the GPS. His power-clean peak output (2490) is also one of the best on the team."

He had surgery for a Lisfranc mid November right after coming off a foot sprain on his other foot. Lisfrancs vary in severity, sounds like his was somewhere in the middle.

Took a bit of a look at the first round prospects when I had time.

Big fan of Quinyon Mitchell, Byron Murphy, Verse, Latu (I like Verse a little more), DeJean, Fautanu, Mims, Taliesse, and Kool-Aid.

Any of those guys and I'd be excited.

A little worried about Arnold, Latham, and especially Guyton.

I wouldn't mind if they took Murphy at 22 although it's probably a little too DT heavy at that point. Carter and Murphy would feast on late downs.

Saban's 100% done, IMO.

So is BB.  But Saban was a coverage genius through to his retirement. Because of that, be cautious with Arnold and Kool Aid.

How many years does a player qualify as a 'rookie'?  In my experience, the answer used to be ONE.   Now we have 'basically a rookie', 'first time starter', and so many other qualifiers.   Rasul was here for 3 seasons, and did essentially nothing.

It's one of the reasons I am not high on Ricks or Jobe.  They likely maxed out at Ala.  So, they looked good as rookie UDFAs, but likely are right up against their ceiling or very close to it.  I don't see either as long term starter material.  They are JAGs... and will likely remain JAGs.
