I'd bring in Cephus for a look.

Yes.  He was very solid in college.  Decent slot prospect.

People are so desperate to make anything AJ Brown does into a controversy. It's really stupid.

I put up with it because he’s an elite receiver and this team needs him, but AJ acts like a 16 year old girl on social media and invites a lot of it onto himself.

I think it's everyone else who acts like children on social media when it comes to AJ Brown. The fact that anyone cares who someone's profile pic is and who he follows on social media is peak "Too Online" culture. Only a social media obsessed culture who has lost touch with reality will read into who a guy follows on social media. It's absurd. The same culture where if someone makes a social media post with just a word like "Damn" you'll have thousands of people trying to decipher what it means. It's lame, it's childish, it's obsessive, and it's wholly unhealthy. Honestly, if I were an athlete I'd do everything I could do F with people for caring about such trivialities. If you care about that stuff, you deserve to get baited. At this point, I hope AJ Brown Fs with people more. All he's doing is shining a light onto how everyone has lost their damn minds when it comes to social media and everyone needs to go outside and get some fresh air now and again.

At this point, I wouldn’t count on Rodgers being available. I have no idea why he wouldn’t have been included with today’s announcement. Ridley bet on the Falcons but somehow was reinstated in April.

Brazil revenge game

Huff is gonna be dubbed Brazil Bryce after that game.

That's only because he was one of the first and the NFL had no policy in place and was just making it up as they go.

It’s really just a wide receiver thing in general. If social media was prevalent 20 years ago, guys like TO, Moss, Chad Johnson, etc would have done the same. Hurts doesn’t get baited by this stuff. Mahomes doesn’t, Christian McCaffrey doesn’t, Lane Johnson, Myles Garrett, etc.

Really just comes down to maturity and not being too online.

If he wants to F with people, then he’s entitled to it. But if he wants to live in an online world where everything gets dissected then he’s going to continue to find himself tangled up in stupid BS because he puts himself in the mix.

If Brown wants to troll people, troll away. But be real about it and stop acting like a victim all the time after the fact.

I won't take AJ Brown seriously on any social platforms until he puts his pronouns in his bio. Until then, irrelevant.

Random draft thoughts...

I think the Eagles want to trade up. When they traded down from 6, traded Carson Wentz, and subsequently made the Saints trade, they did so to ensure they got multiple blue chip players out of it. Jalen Carter and AJ Brown are direct results. Guessing they package 22 and one of the 2s if they can find a trade partner in the low/mid-teens. Arnold, Mitchell, or Latham would be the targets. Arnold and Latham make all the sense in the world.

I actually don't love the QB class. Williams has some really bad habits, hasn't won anything, and is a bit short. Sky high upside, I get it, but he falls well short of "generational." Maye is a mediocre at best QB in a stud QB's body. Daniels is probably my favorite, but I think he's gonna get suplexed every week and probably never play a full season. Glad they're all gonna push players down to the Eagles though.

McConkey and Pearsall ran pretty damn fast for how people talk about them. Would gladly take either in the 2nd, though McConkey will be long gone.

Malik Washington is my favorite round 3 and beyond guy. Dude is gonna shock some people if he plays with a good QB.

I don't want Howie picking in the #22 range.  It's bad mojo; through bad process or bad evaluation they're quite likely to take the wrong player because that's been the historical norm.  I'm hoping for either a trade up or trade down.

Trade up using #22 and 53 to get to #13 and draft Latham or Mitchell

Trade down from #22 to get #33 and 65 and draft 4 players between 33 and 65.  It can be argued the Eagles have done a better job with their second round picks than first round picks over the past 10 years:

1st round -- Marcus Smith, Nelson Agholor, Carson Wentz, Derek Barnett, Andre Dillard, Jalen Reagor, DeVonta Smith, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith

2nd round -- Jordan Matthews, Eric Rowe, Sidney Jones, Dallas Goedert, Miles Sanders, JJAW, Jalen Hurts, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens

I'd make the argument the 2nd round group is at least as good.

Rodgers bet on his own team. 2 year suspension.

So Howie is using AJ Brown as trade up collateral in the draft to draft a RT at 3?  It's completely made up by me, but someone on X will use it has a rumour confirmation and WIP will pick it up tomorrow.

Who cares which players follow which team on Social Media. It's not a pledge of allegiance, it's a follow

I agree that Brown is overly sensitive on social media, but it is what it is, I couldn't care less, it's not like it's a problem or anything. But in this instance I think people are assuming he did it to troll and I think he probably didn't. It's not like he put Prescott's photo as his profile pic. He put a retired Tom Brady. As for the followers, players follow other players all the time. Darius Slay chats with other players on other teams constantly and no one cares. Darius Slay has celebrated Cowboys performing well before who are DBs because Slay tends to root for DBs and it didn't become a story. Because there isn't an agenda against him like with AJ Brown.

that's pretty presumptuous.

Was he suspended before the new policy or after? I wonder if the NFL would announce whether his suspension is extended or do they stay quiet until he’s been reinstated.

For Ridley, NFL somewhat admitted its rules against gambling were vague and they let him off after 1 year. Then they made more concrete rules that were better defined. After that is when Rodgers violated the rules. Then the NFL placed actual parameters around the suspension for gambling violations.

Technically in between. They revised, he placed bets, they suspended indefinitely, then made the policies on the actual length.

So someone put some money him going 2nd, temporarily shortening the odds?

They changed the rules after Rodgers was suspended. Rodgers was suspended June 28th. The new policy was announced September 29th. But they applied the new rules retro-actively to players already suspended like Jameson Williams and reduced his suspension. I agree with you though and always thought that would mean they retro-applied the new rules to Rodgers also. The confusing part is the comments from Howie and Lurie which made it seem like they know he's getting reinstated.

I think these are more rumor based than anything. McCarthy's odds shot up as the #2 overall pick the one day the rumor mongering was saying he was going #2. It will probably fluctuate a lot between now and the draft.

Josh Harris probably

I'd be stunned if Daniels isn't the pick at 2.
