I’d be pretty shocked if we double up on corner. We have a ton of guys already and can only carry 6 on the 53 man roster. Slay, Bradburry, Ringo, Maddox, and Ricks plus we might have Rodgers coming back.

Bradberry is the most intriguing guy on the roster. He's bounced back before from bad seasons, and he's cheap to keep around. OTOH, he's older, and it doesn't cost that much to get rid of him after June 1 (0 cap impact this year, and extra $4 million above his cap hit in 2025.)

And as much as he gets crapped on, he wasn't bad all year. He had some really good games, holding receivers to under 8 yards a target 11 times. He was arguably our best defensive player against KC and Buffalo. But the other games were absolutely horrible.

One thing to note, I don't think the Eagles have designated anyone as a post June 1 cut this year. So they theoretically could cut Bradberry now if they really wanted to get rid of him. The fact that he is still on the roster makes me think he is in the team's plans until he plays his way off the field.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

I really hate the stupid Nike story telling. Sure, the grit of the team influenced black uniforms.

And yet I only need one counterexample to prove that "always trading back is the right answer" is BS.

This one is an incomplete. Arizona got a bookend tackle and a starting LB (played well until injured) and also have first- and third-round picks from Houston upcoming, in addition to their own first rounder. They also have two additional third-round picks in addition to their own, one from Houston and one from Tennessee.

I will cheerfully concede that Houston did well but how did Arizona do? They got four picks for one. Is Will Anderson worth four high picks? Further, is C.J. Young worth three first-round picks and two second-round picks plus D.J. Moore,, who had 96 receptions and 1364 yards (that's what they gave Chicago)?

It is easy to make the argument that both Arizona and Chicago did the right thing by moving down. That is the essence of Lewis's article.

frankly, think he’s at least gonna be here through training camp and the preseason. They might cut him before week one if they think one of the young guys is ready to just start and play corner but i still doubt it. Eagles usually with guys release them so they can catch on somewhere else early if they were doing post June 1. you dont get much out of cutting him in terms of cap so just opening a roster spot. so you might as well just see what he looks like through the course of camps and the preseason. Add on if you follow his career arc he should be better this year. That’s basically what he’s done most of his career. Have a bad year, followed by a good year, followed by a down year, followed by a good year.

This is probably the cause of the Daniels odds drop for #2 overall

James Darlington also alluded a couple days ago on espn that McCarthy might be the guy that ends finding his way to 2. May he does or doesn’t but felt like Darlington had some info coming from someone he trusted.

Boy looking at Tyler Nubin's Ras it's kind of scary

The agent can't really do anything, he can't make them not draft him if they want him. But I am enjoying Josh Harris continue to run another organization as a clown show.

Why would anyone want AJ traded he is now our best player and is in his prime?

If he is terrible in camp, I think they release him. Maybe do it before the final cutdown to give him more of a chance to catch on somewhere else. But it's a free option to see if he bounces back at all in camp and the preseason. Even if you draft someone, the only CBs guaranteed to be on the roster are Slay, Ringo and a high draft pick. Assume they keep Maddox for the slot, and there are still 2-3 open spots for Bradberry, Ricks, Jobe, McPhearson, Hall.

If this was our draft you would be ?

This is what being drafted as a franchise QB at the top of the draft is all about.  Would you rather be the face of a franchise in:

-- Chicago, where they haven't had a great QB since 1950

-- Washington, one of the worst run franchises of the past 30 years

-- New England, whose entitled fan base still thinks they should be going back to a Super Bowl every 2-3 years

I agree if he’s awful I think they would just release him early so he has a chance to go catch on somewhere else. But if he’s OK throughout camp and threw the preseason, I don’t see them doing it. Unless they really like a couple of the young kids and believe they are ready for an increased role. Hypothetically if ringo can start and the guy they draft has a great camp and preseason then i think they might just want to give the young kid the snaps if something happens to slay or ringo. So how the younger guys look might factor into it besides just bradberry’s play

Chicago has the best talent around you but their ownership has issues and i don’t think their coach has job stability entering the year. Joshua Harris is running the commanders. He’s had success with the sixers being a playoff team consistently but also a bunch of embarrassing stuff organizationally happen over the years. I won’t believe in Washington until they actually do it consistently.

Reportedly New England has wanted Daniels. if they actually get talent around him they probably have the most stable organization of the 3.

Organization wise it's NE easily. I do think the team they're building in Chicago is interesting though.

Every year right before the draft I go back and watch "Giants fans reacting to the Daniel Jones pick" for a few laughs.

Watched one just now where the kid is dumbstruck for about a minute and a half and just keeps saying "Oh my God", then when he sees Jones go out to the stage to shake Goodell's hand he stares at the TV and says "You might as well have just brought a trash can up there"

Fantastic line LOL.  Hopefully I don't have to steal it for the Eagles next week.

Awfully disappointed we didn’t get a better corner, but that’s a haul of pretty good players.

Washington's getting roasted for what they did, but maybe it's not such a terrible idea.

They just answered the questions: Who's a diva?  Who's agent is going to be a troublemaker?

They apparently took a large group went to top-golf to play a round of golf, too.

And they answered these questions: Who is going to be social and who is a loner?  Who's competitive and who is not?

It's a low-key brilliant strategy.  Anyhow can look good with a few visits, but it's hard to answer some of these other questions.   If you (like me) think that the gap between Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and JJ McCarthy to be very small, little things like this could help you make up your mind.

Yeah I was kind of unsure whether to go CB or Colson at 57.  Didn't see anything that outdie Elliss at 89.  I like Flournoy also as has some big arms and hands and strength to his game

No one wants to trade AJ Brown. There was some nonsense on social media because of his twitter accounts so a few of us decided to just drum up scenarios that would make sense if it were to happen.

If you need to bring in 3 prospects at the same time to figure out who the best guy is, you don't know what you're doing.

BTW, the Jets did this and ended up drafting Mark Sanchez because he was the ALPHA male in the room.

thats a good question. where have you seen anyone imply they want him traded?

2 hours ago, garingovt2000 said:

hate that rationale.  most had him dubbed as a top 10-20 pick leading up to his last year in college.  be interested to see what he looks like this year.  i still think we go OL or DL in round 1.

Did he look good enough to stay on the field last year with the Eagles?   Nope.  He might have improved, or he might not have.  His presence on the roster shouldn't determine the pick at 22.  Even if he is the answer at one of the CB slots, which has no evidence currently to back it up, we need TWO outside CBs anyway, so a CB is in play at any pick this draft.
