He doesn’t seem to be an ahole in the interviews he gives, and the woman thing wasn’t like a savage beating or anything… but he’s got to get his act together. He has some Olave like ability, I don’t think he’s a cancer and would take a chance on him.

The Grayson Allen antics are a bit worrying.

Now I remember Reggie Brown would occasionally get in someone's face after a nice play here. And I like that. But if its really dirty stuff like Grayson Allen was, that concerns me for like an Albert Haynesworth stomping, or a helmet swinging fight or something along those lines.

The thing about rushing the field, you can easily see that as being disoriented in a crowd, not really seeing who he is swinging at, happens to hit a woman. Not sure if thats the case, but in an instance like that, it doesnt really sound so bad. We just saw a basketball player get injured in a crowd rush this year. That can be a scary thing for anyone, and he may not be someone who would ever swing on a woman, but was just reacting in a moment where things were like a blur.

Id need to hear his story there, hopefully see video of how it went down. And really need to dig harder in to the other after the play antics and see just how dirty he is. Or if its just intensity. Ill take a little George Pickens craziness if it comes with that kind of talent. But if hes going to always be getting penalties, suspensions, etc... I wouldnt want that. Let him go to a dirty team like the 9ers or Bills. Actually, Bills. Put him in the AFC please.

I know he didn’t work out for the Jets, was it because he was somehow brittle? Otherwise, it would seem to be a coaching problem.

But Evan Neal was also big, and he's doing great.

The bust rate on the super big RT types is fairly high if you look at Becton and Neal.  It seems that NFL teams want that 6'7 350 pound type,  but there don't seem to be enough good ones to go around.   Sometimes the biggest players on the field aren't also the quickest.  Lane was a 10 ras type,  but small for a RT, at least when it comes to weight.   But it seems like it should be easier to get bigger than to get quicker. "Oh, the other team is putting a series of situational pass rushers,  short, light, even faster than today's fast OLB at 230-240 pounds,  and they're just running right by our 6'7 350 pound guy."    That can happen.   Sometimes it doesn't,  sometimes it does.     If the Eagles want a big RT, they can bring in Manu as a udfa, from British Columbia,  similar to Mailata.  UDFA is cheap.  He has the physical upside, and was pretty good in Canada, but not great.  If it works out, maybe he's on practice squad,  and when Lane actually does go,  maybe Manu will be ready.  If not, someone else from one of many different ways you can get a right tackle when you need one.  Perhaps Steen from the roster could do that?  Perhaps someone else on the roster who didn't cost a first round pick.   Day 3 Right Guard.   Steen's a good athlete,  good size for RG.  I'm not sure how much experience he has at Right Guard.   A Day 3 Right Guard,  perhaps Zak Zinter,  who the Eagles brought in?   The Eagles are completely set at 3 starting positions.   Great players,  all signed to big money.  Jurgens was above average at RG last year,  and is a Center, but he's replacing Kelce.  We don't know for sure.  Hennessy is there.  I doubt the Eagles are going to want to start a rookie on the OL.  So, looking around,  Steen is the likely RG.  Hennessy is the backup IOL, Center, Right Guard.  Steen is also the swing tackle. So, if Mailata or Lane were out,  Steen would go there, and Hennessy to Right Guard.   Teams that are drafting OL in the first round are expecting them to play year 1.   The Eagles have no expectation that whoever they draft will play at all the first year.   It's certainly reasonable to think that Jurgens and Steen could both be great and both be completely healthy all year,  next year,  and years into the future.  It could happen.  And everyone else could stay healthy.   That gives any backup OL nothing to do.

Right, the onfield stuff makes me think you can get under his skin and to a lesser degree that he can be baited easily into trouble off the field. If he’s reasonable when not heated, may be he’ll understand the utility of a sports psychologist.

Mason Pline is a sleeper TE from Furman. A UDFA project perhaps. Basketball player who just started playing TE 3 years ago.

He had a knee injury at the Shrine game so his workout numbers can likely be better when healthy. Considering that, not terrible for a 6'7'' TE.

He would be deadly out of the slot here for us.

Yeah, a vertical threat that fits into what I understand of the Kellen Moore offense and the kind of body control/hands/fluidity that makes me think he can help outside as well against tighter coverage.

Well thats pretty bad. Hes not being trampled. He can clearly see what hes doing and who hes doing it to there.

Looks like he will be a Chief, Raider, Cowboy, Bill, or 49er.

Apparently Andru Phillips had 15 missed tackles this season. Pretty bad tackler. Also 5 penalties in coverage this season. 0 career interceptions.

Potential 1st rounder. lol.

According to his mom and his agent… I’m surprised by the tackling issues as the narrative is that he’s a physical beast - I knew that he had no ball production and meh measurables so wasn’t all in on him anyway.

I was surprised to hear that number as well. I thought he looked like a move to nickel where he could use his physicality. It doesnt seem to be an issue with effort. I guess technique?

I had him as a 4th rounder. Glad I didnt go for the hype when the eagles brought him in.

Without thinking too hard about it there’s like 4 other guys that I can think of in the same tier/role - so selecting Burton isn’t an imperative but I hope Howie gets the WR coin flip right.

That kid is going to be a stud

Yup. Zero problem if we take him at 22. Perfect fit as a low volume/high production vertical threat.

Found a draft simulator that allows trading current players…it claims to use the Jimmy Johnson trade value chart.  I did just a 4 round mock for the Marvin Harrison Jr pipe dream we were discussing yesterday.  How many Howies?

Just having some early morning fun with this.
AJ & pick 22 to NE for picks 3 & 34.

At 3 you trade to either the Vikings or Broncos.
Vikes offer: 11 , 23 , 4th round pick 106 and next years 1st

or

Broncos offer: 12, 76, Surtain, next years 1st

Trade back 15-20 slots with one of the 2nds and then use that pick for Horn. We'd recoup extra ammo.

You want to trade 22 plus both 2nds in one trade? What about 22 for DeJean then Kingsley or the Yale kid at 50, both would be moved to RG day 1.

I was just thinking about all this.
If we can get to 3, I really would want to then cash that in for the kings ransom from Denver or Vikings. I know the Harrison Jr hype and I'm a believer in him but the kings ransom for that pick is just far too much to simply get another WR at 3, I feel. That is an organizational changing type of trade, I can't pass on that for 1 WR.

I don’t think AJ and 22 is enough to get to 3.  They certainly wouldn’t also throw in pick 34

The draft simulator I just used was sort of interesting, but not sure how realistic.  It obviously comes down to how much their system values current players.

For instance, in order to get to 3, the Eagles had the part with not only AJ, but also Kenny Pickett, and next year’s 3rd rounder.  When I tried the exact trade offering McKee, the Patriots declined.  Only when I swapped out McKee for Pickett was it accepted.  I also tried just swapping the players and number 22, but nothing was going to be accepted if I did not include next year’s 3rd

It’s far more likely that the Patriots would just go ahead and trade with Denver or the Vikings for the that king’s ransom.  With the amount of talent that is available in this draft at the wide receiver position, the Eagles would have to offer far more than just AJ Brown to get up that high

I like it a lot, but I don't think Latham is there or DeJean. I'm thinking it's going to be extremely tough to even have DeJean fall to us at 22 anymore.

What if you threw 53 in there as well then.

If I was them I would too, or just take the QB. It's why I'm not sure why they would even make the call to us but they did. It's possible they are in their war room and targeted AJ as a player they can restart their franchise with. At 22 they could go Penix or Nix.

You can run the same tradeup idea with Kingsley/Kool-aid. I’m confident that we won’t get shutout of good OL/CB prospect at 22.
