  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Better than Bowers?

Bowers doesn’t excite me…i think he is a good prospect, but not generational.  He’s was part of a stacked O in Georgia for a few years and was never the focus of the O.  He’s got decent size and athleticism, but he’s got a limited catch radius, is soft on traditional TE middle of the field routes, and is not the best at sustaining blocks.  His upside is Zach Ertz IMO…which is not a bad thing, but his profile isn’t this Uber athlete.  He looks like a dad.

2 1s from BUF based on their WR need and possibly all-in approach this season (this is ballpark to what we paid, assuming the Bills are decent this year).

Do you believe we could trade him for a pick high enough to get Odunze?  Jets at 10 maybe, or Bears at 9

Jets maybe as they are making a push with Rodg, which might get us our choice of OL outside of Alt (I think Odunze goes top-9). This would cost us at least a 2, and you’re looking at Brian Thomas very seriously at 22 (if he makes it there).

He looks special to me.

You can run the same tradeup idea with Kingsley/Kool-aid. I’m confident that we won’t get shutout of good OL/CB prospect at 22.

This is sort of how I see it.  A good OT or CB should be available if they stayed put at 22.  They should only move up if they feel their top pick has fallen in the draft a bit

Hmmm… Mims, Dejean.

I never wanted to trade AJ whatsoever but thinking about getting the Pats #3 then flipping that to the highest bidder for the 3rd QB, I think you would have to pull that trigger. But I'm not trading him to the Bills for a 1st or some other type of similar deal. But getting to #3 and then trying to cut a deal, specifically with the Broncos that would include Surtain and a 1st next year plus other picks, that would be some next level thinking/trading.

Personally, I'm not taking Kingsley at 22. That seems a bit rich to me.He should be there when round 2 kicks off. I also don't view Kool-Aid and DeJean in the same vein. I love DeJEan as the smart, instinctive, sound safety Vic will covet for his defense. Kool-Aid is a strict outside CB. If we land DeJean I still want a CB prospect or one via trade. I'd take both though that's probably not possible.

I don't think DeJean will be a safety.  He will at least begin his career at CB. Likely nickel CB, and will be a star there.

lol what kind of special?  I think he’s a very good prospect…but not generational is my thing.  I think he’ll be productive and stick around the league for a long time.  IDK that I’d take a TE in the 1st in this draft.  I need to dig into some of the others deeper.  I haven’t been super into watching a lot of the players into this draft overall this year due to retirement and starting the business.

I’ve been out of the day-to-day draft news, but I heard Kool-aid has a "Jones” fracture of his pinky toe. I read it is due to overtraining, but is this a chronic condition?

I just did my first draft simulator and turned down every trade that I thought was a ridiculous overpay (you can get so many 2025 second round picks with small trade downs in the PFN simulator. Anyway, we picked a lot of the same guys.

I figure after the success that Sam LaPorta had last year teams will be back in on TEs that can bring that comparison. I wouldn’t take Bowers top-10 as I’d rather have a WR, 10-15 sure. I really don’t think he is a factor for us as he’ll be gone (other than pushing down OL/CBs).

I totally expect Howie to do a trade up in the 1st (to 15, 16?) as they’ll have a favorite amongst the OL prospects and tradeback with the remaining 2 to get more capital (which will probably be frustrating at the time).

He wouldn’t be the first player to do it.

Sinnott is LaPorta

Then he is in the mix for us in the 2nd.

Sure - he also might be QB4 in this draft.

Yes might be. Based on websites he's more of a 3rd but I wouldn't be shocked if he is the 2nd TE drafted.

It’s worth acknowledging that given Goedert’s age, injury history and Howie’s willingness to get a guy in the building ahead of time that TE might be as much of perceived need as WR.

I truly hope you two are joking. Be lucky if we could get a 2nd round pick/late first. That is if we are lucky. Plus a hefty cap hit. Brown is not going anywhere so not worth a discussion of his value in a trade which isnt even close to what you are suggesting.
