I truly hope you two are joking. Be lucky if we could get a 2nd round pick/late first. That is if we are lucky. Plus a hefty cap hit. Brown is not going anywhere so not worth a discussion of his value in a trade which isnt even close to what you are suggesting.

I don’t think AJ is going anywhere as he has a ton of value to our team which thinks of itself as a contender. But playing the game and knowing this, should we theorize a trade where we get cents on the dollar?

Ok I love the Barkley deal

With Vic moving in, I'm not seeing a ton of fits for his d-line specifically DE. That's a staple of this organization and the cupboard is bare. Davis & Carter, fine. Williams doesn't scream out 3-4 end plus he's a UFA next year. Verse seems like a very good prospect for pure DE (not OLB/Edge) that is tough against the run. I'm also looking for the 3-4 "Akiem Hicks" type player for Fange. Ruke Orhorhoro, Darius Robinson, Masson Smith are intriguing guys. Ruke has a lot of explosion and athleticism plus untapped potential with quality size.

If Vic runs some hybrid scheme, then I love to get a power player like Verse, Kneeland, etc. If we are married to 3 DL 1.5 gap scheme, then you are looking at 3Ts with good armlength and the ability to anchor.

That's all I'm doing, just having a little draft week hypothetical fun. I would only do it if it greatly benefited us, that one trade with the Pats for 3 and then flipping that would be an example. But it's all just pipe dream type folly. It was only brought up due to the report of the Pats giving Howie a ring on his red land line in the study.

Verse and Kneeland, yes. Really like both. But I think you could technically use both players. Kneeland as the Edge/OLB and Verse as a DE. Two rough & tough SOG's that can get after the QB, play the run and change the demeanor of this defense.

You are over est his value by a ton. multiple first round picks? Top 10 pick? Not happening ever.  I have experience in this league for a extremely short time as well(UDFA that lasted 3 preseason games, lol) but at no point am I an expert at value but history tells you hes worth a late first rounder/early second. Could be even less with his social media issues. Its like the housing market, its only worth what someone is willing to pay, not what you list it for.

One GM already got fired for being stupid enough to trade AJ Brown

it’s not happening

Loved watching Stump the Schwab.

I don't think DeJean will be a safety.  He will at least begin his career at CB. Likely nickel CB, and will be a star there.

I see the same. This kid is a Football player. You can move him all over which is a major plus. Hes played Safety, Outside CB, Nickel even some LB. Has good ball vision, not afraid to get down and dirty, make that tough tackle etc.

At first I wasn't sure I was sold on him but the more I see and versatility he shows the more I like him. Love the fact he can be flexible and not stuck in one specific role. I would not be disappointed with taking him at 22 or a possible trade back and get him 2-5 picks later.

We got him for a mid 1, he’s been great and we are eating $ in the trade. Should the scenario include him doing sit ups in the driveway?

He doesn’t seem to understand how the draft works.

Or... he understands that he has some influence.

John Elway did it.
Eli Manning did it.
Bo Jackson did it.

They didn't exactly decide ultimately where they ended up, but they absolutely decided where they wouldn't end up.

Telling you no way he gets a top 10 pick or multiple first rounders. Pats prob offered a 3rd rounder and player or late pick for him which Howie turned down.

Yes, You and Howie might want the bank for him but zero teams will offer it or even consider it. History shows that. Which again is why he is going no where so its useless even discussing.

Bucky Brooks said his "red star player" is Cooper DeJean. He's not making it to 22 folks. Gonna have to go up a little to secure him.

Yup. I also don’t think he’s that good of a prospect that has a team determined to take him no matter what. So if he puts out red flags now Washington could easily pivot to Maye.

An AJ Brown trade only becomes a possibility after 2024.  What the Eagles do in this draft could have an impact, however

What Jayden Daniels or his agent thought of the Commanders visit makes no difference; it’s how the Commanders perceived it that’s important.

Yeah, I see the point - not sure how much the rookie wage scale decelerates between say 2 and 6 which seems to be the downside.

Sounds like Glenn Macnow is going to be announcing his retirement when they come back from commercial break on WIP.

The few are getting fewer.

CJ Stroud 2023 #2 pick — 4 years and $36.2M

Paris Johnson #6 pick — 4 years and $28M

Not that Jayden Daniels should ever go #6; he’s the best QB prospect in this draft.  Not doing any testing or workouts throughout this process would be a problem for me if I was a GM, though

Yep, Glen Macnow retiring this summer.  Got Ray Riding errands there and everything.

AJ Brown isn't getting traded...not this offseason at least.  But it's interesting to reflect on the very murky exchange rate between draft picks, unrestricted free agents, and proven players on market value deals.

Some players are so transcendent that they have massive value just to get them on your team...so you'd trade for them even if they are highly paid.  Other players can be great, probowl players...but if they are on huge deals that might exceed their runway...what are they really worth in draft compensation?

It feels like the more premium players these days (the ones that do change teams) get involved in trade-and-signs entering the last year of their deals.

Davante Adams went for a 1 and a 2 and more. He was 29 and needed a new contract

Tyreek Hill went for a 1 and a 2 and more. He was 28 and needed a new contract

AJ is still only 26, has had back-to-back 1400 yard seasons (you had to go back 4 years before the trade to find Tyreek’s last 1300 yard season), and has already received his longterm deal as Philly is on the hook for most of the guaranteed money. He’s a salary cap bargain For a trading team.

AJ is worth far more than a late round 1st.

@HazletonEagle

Even the DAL fan wearing the Eagles jersey wants to draft the white guy in the first round
