Maxey with the flu and Embiid with his knee… feels like every time this team finally got healthy this year some crap hits them

I'd say this is surprising... but it's not.     It's not even this year.   It's every year.   Embiid can't stay healthy for a full season AND the playoffs.  Is it all bad luck, or bad conditioning, or something else?   Every single time the playoffs roll around, he's dealing with something.  It's old at this point.

I hate to say it... but they might need to just end it, and move on this offseason.  Build around Maxey, and see what you can do to get back into contention before his prime passes him by.

22 and 53 for 17 (Latham) and Muma... Any interest?

This is a weird draft because I'd be pretty happy with really any of the following in round 1 (not including guys like Alt and Turner who I think will go too high):

OL: Mims, Fuaga, Fashanu, Latham, Fautanu, Morgan

CB: Arnold, DeJean, Wiggins, Kool-Aid, Mitchell

DE: Verse and Latu

If it were up to me, I'd probably go CB or DE, but I think Howie goes O-line.

Zach Wilson traded for a late pick swap and jets paying salary

Sean Payton really wants to dunk on Nat Hackett by making Wilson look like a serviceable QB...

Another hypothetical.

Denver gets greedy. Want to stick and pick at 12 and move back into the first round for Nix or Penix. Would you do 22 for 76 and their 2025 1?

My day just keeps getting worse.

Crappy uniforms, now a crappy QB.

May start drinking a little early today....

Normally, yes, but next year's draft is shaping up to be really weak.

83 draftable players and 22 of them have first round grades.

He clarified they said 83 draftable players were returning to school and there were 170 left as "draftable"

Is there a generational QB coming in 2025? Broncos seem like they're tanking already

Alarmingly bad QB class in 2025. Sanders is likely the best of the group.

Rest are meh:

Quinn Ewers

Drew Allar

Cade Klubnik

Now, 2026 is shaping up to be a special class.

That makes more sense.

Im not big on a big trade up for anyone.

When it comes to Latu though, he medically retired. For him to come back, some doctor already signed off on his health. And then he played 2 years healthy and unscathed. So, its pretty likely teams see no big issue with his medical.

If you want to complain about the trade up, it should be that he doesnt have the typical athletic profile of an elite pass rusher who gets drafted in the top 15. Hes kinda just pretty good athletically. Close to maxed out at this point.

I wouldnt want them to trade up for him. But if hes an eagle, its easy to get excited about his production and technique. Should be a plug and play player right away. You can do worse, and draft someone who wont be effective right away like Dallas Turner or Chop Robinson.

If the trade up that far, it should be for Fautanu.

Between Latu or Arnold, Ill take Latu.

After much chewing, I don't want them to trade up either. There are a bunch of players they we like who figure to be there if Klatt is even remotely correct. Latham, DeJean, Wiggins, McKinstry, Latu, and a few others.

On the other hand, I can’t name 10 teams who are definitely worse off than Denver right now (ESPECIALLY if they start a rookie QB).

This could be the Jalen Carter trade all over again

But he could just be another Yetur Gross-Matos. Not that high of a floor.

Anyone "could” be anything. This idea that well refined players are somehow more likely to be productive is a fallacy. You project players in a probabilistic sense, and athleticism is just as much, if not more, of a predictive quality of a player’s floor.

I agree, since I believe sitting at 22 we will have options at both CB and OL. If someone they really love starts to slide (e.g., Mitchell or Mims), maybe a small trade up like last year could make sense.

If they go OL, we might learn how they view Tyler Steen. Taking someone like Mims means they are sold on Steen at RG. But someone like Latham, who has guard/tackle versatility, is an indication that Steen has been a disappointment to date. Basically, if they take Mims, it makes me feel a lot better about Steen.

For some reason, I'm thinking Mims is going to be the guy. First, the physical tools are all there. Second, he went to Georgia. Third, Kirby Smart, who doesn't usually have great things to say about prospects (remember the reports he was killing Jalen Carter), has come out strongly for him. Finally, I feel like this is a guy Stoutland would love to work with.

The upside potential, combined with Stoutland, will be too much for Howie to overlook.

I could definitely see that. The three guys I think the Eagles will look at at Latham in a trade up and Mims or Suamataia as a late first round high upside Stoutland project.

Whose going to stop that QB room in the NFL?

I’d want a bit more, but if that was their opening offer I think we could get a deal done.

I agree, with the caveat that I don’t think there is any chance Latham is there at 22. He’s just too good and unique as a prospect.

Your overall view though, absolutely agree 100%. The opportunity cost of a 2nd round pick is too great to justify the delta between whoever we could get in the mid teens and whoever we can get at 22.

If theyre using a 2nd round pick to get up to 12, thats absolutely for an OT.

If theyre going to like 18, its DeJean.

I don't think they will trade up for DeJean.  I think Mitchell and Arnold are trade up candidates.  It also doesn't look to me that they are looking to trade up for an O-line.
