Burrow wasn't hyped for multiple years -- kinda exploded onto the scene at LSU and shot up to #1. He has struggled to be healthy, but is obviously elite when he plays. I'd argue the "generational" guys that were hyped over the last 30 years have been Lawrence, Luck, Cam, Vick and Peyton. Lawrence is, if I'm being generous, "disappointing." Cam and Vick were decent QBs but basically busts when compared to their hype. Luck delivered but his career was cut short. The last can't miss guy that 100% hit was Peyton.

Yea Burrow will need to stay healthy to stay at the top. Hopefully he does because he's fun to watch. Lawrence definitely hasn't lived up to the hype of a #1 overall pick

Colts have been cursed for ruining Luck it seems

Latu- Risk with his injury issues and type of injury it was, not interested in him unless its in the early 2nd round which we know he wont last to. Rather someone else take that risk.

I really like Latu, I wouldn't be mad about him at all.  High motor guy and he'd be picked much higher if it weren't for the injury history.

I'd be happier with Latu in the 2nd round, given the fact that we need CB / OL a lot more than we need another Edge rusher...

Name your top 3 not projected 1st rounders at each of these positions you'd want us to draft.  Corner, Edge, and OL

The dawgs

CB- Khyree Jackson (dawg), Elijah Jones (potential immediate starter). Both are older. DJ James (best zone CB in the draft). Renardo Green and Kamal Hadden, very good players with no love. Torn on Decamerion Richardson who is one of the most appealing combinations of elite length and athleticism. Yet, he seems to somehow lose to the top WRs he has faced. Still, pretty good and elite traits to coach up so yeah, Ill include him. But not potential day 1 starter ability.

S- Taylor-Demerson (dawg), Bullard (Dawg, and film junky, and savant?), Daijahn Anthony (dawg)

TE- Sinnott (LaPorta), Eric All (could have been in discussion for top TE in the draft if he played for a different program and stayed healthy), Dallin Holker (workaholic).

RB- We all know Wright and Lloyd. Im gonna go slightly deeper. Shipley (not gonna say he isnt going to work his way to be as good as McCaffrey. Already a clone. Just needs to put in the work), Laube (Danny Whitehead is fine with me in such a late round), Holani (elusive Miles Sanders style running. Gets no respect), Blake Watson (probably the most explosive RB).

WR- so many I like but theres not any surprises late that I think will become potential starters like a Gabe Davis type. I have a hard time narrowing this one down to a few names because hardly anyone separates themselves from the pack as having higher potential. For their size Ill go with Vele, Whittington, Bub Means. And you have to throw in Rosemy-Jacksaint for his hands and blocking ability. Hard not to envision him as a Pascal who will definitely carve out a role for himself even if he is never a top 3 on the depth chart.

OG- McCormick (dawg). Corey Bullock (size and athleticism for Stoutland to mold).

OT- Caedan Wallace (probably better than Blake Fisher. Probably a guard but possible RT potential), Blake Fisher (pretty darn good "other tackle" but probably has to be a guard.) Garret Greenfield (athletic prospect for Stout who is already pretty good).

DE- Dorlus (tweener but very good player. Potentially 3-4 end who can kick inside in rush situations), Wingo (listing as DE because he can play 3-4 DE like Milton Williams. Can also play DT of course.) Logan Lee (If we are looking for an old school sized 3-4 DE who also has some very nice athletic traits)

DT- Leonard Taylor III (ridiculous pass rush win rate at 3 tech who never got to play at 3 tech. Waiting to bust out as a beast when used properly in the right system = Hargrave pt. 2) Maason Smith (Muhamad Wilkerson anyone?) Levi Drake-Rodriguez (super sleeper may never be anything. but what a fantastic guy to have on your team and I believe he might work his way in to a career.)

Edge- Jalyx Hunt (hes a super freak. super freak. hes super freaky). Elliss (technician) Kamara (dawg) Javon Solomon (dawg)

LB- JD Bertrand (gonna be a starter. Too fundamentally sound. Assignment sound. Instinctive. TJ Edwards type.), Liufau (if troy polamolu was a LB youd get this guy), Jaylan Ford (good all around LB with athleticism and coverage ability gets no love) Ulofoshio (similar to Ford but just not quite as stand-out-ish) Jordan Magee (hes good. and appears to have shot up 100 spots in drafttek's rankings. is it a sign NFL people are high on him while draft sites didnt know about him?) Jaylon Carlies (S who needs to play LB. May even be too stiff for LB as well but the size and straight ling explosivness, and speed is too hard not to take a flier on).

His height is 56th percentile, arm length is 59th and wingspan 62nd.

there is just nothing about him that screams elite prospect.

His size, and his really good agility and fluidity with very mediocre at best 40 time has him tailor made for the slot. But everyone just keeps saying he is the top CB in this draft like its unquestionable.

I think he is going to be put outside and be pretty good but give up TDs to bigger WRs and someone is gonna be kinda disappointed that hes not as dominant as advertised.

Only two days left of people posting their mock draft results, thank the F christ. Never got the appeal of doing those things.

Super Bowl!

Considering how simple this seems to be on the surface, I’m surprised the Eagles’ investigation hasn’t concluded. Makes me wonder if they’re finding more dirt.

As for Atlanta, it’s just a matter of how hard they’re gonna get hit. It’s obvious they went above and beyond harmless  tampering.

I am kinda hoping that they take away the eagles conditional higher pick from the stupid reddick trade.

Like, if that pick becomes a 2nd, it gets forfeitted. If it stays a 3rd, we keep it.

Thatd be funny. Because Howie said its not a conditional pick.

The NFL can now put conditions on top of the conditions and make it a super duper conditional pick.

Thanks Xzibit

Bo thinks if they stayed at 22 and McKinstry and DeJean are both on the board they'd go with McKinstry. He thinks he really fits the Fangio profile of corners.

Either way, I think McKinstry goes higher than people think.

I bet Bradberry gets traded this weekend.

Trading him before 6/1 would cause a $13.9mm cap charge and cost us $9.6mm of 2024 cap space. Plus, they would need someone willing to trade something for him. Can't see either of those things happening.

No one will trade for him. Gmen couldn't get anything for him a few years ago and had to cut him. Same will happen here.

Plus there is still better options available via FA market.

So with Rodgers officially back, here is where we stand at CB it seems:

Locks to be on roster: Slay, Rodgers, Ringo

Need to have a slot corner: One of Maddox, McPhearson or Hall. Assume it is Maddox

So that's 4, and let's say they carry 6-7. Leaves 2-3 spots for: Ricks, Jobe, McPhearson, Hall, Bradberry and Garner (ignoring Goodrich and Mullen as having no chance). Assume the backup slot needs to be Hall or McPhearson, and now its 1-2 spots. I think they like Ricks, and Jobe is a core special teamer.

Basically, Rodgers being officially back makes me think OL is more likely in round 1, unless they take someone they believe can be the starting slot (DeJean).

For months I figured those were the 2 best options for us and I couldnt figure out which way to lean.

Recently I began to lean DeJean. But I wont be upset with McKinstry at all.

I know but we would free up money in 2025. We either take the hit this year or next for a player that shouldn’t be on the field.

Take it in 2025 when it is a lower percentage of the cap.

Plus, no one is trading anything of value for him.

At this point, between Hall, and Rodgers, I like our situation at Nickel.

Now, the CB drafted in round 1 to me becomes more of a must that he is able to play outside at a high level.

It makes someone like Wiggins, or McKinstry more likely.

At the same time, Hall and Rodgers shouldnt preclude us from adding a player the caliber of DeJean.

So maybe in a way- nothing changes.
