McLane gets a lot of hate in here, but he breaks the most news. He and Gunn have the best sources.

Yup i said the same thing months ago. People just dislike him cause he’s super negative in his reporting and is kind of a dbag. But he has also broken a lot of stories and had inside info that turns out to be legitimate

You forgot about Agholor and Dillard. All PAC 12, all soft when they hit the pros. You can still miss me with non-Polynesian PAC 12 players.

Nick Foles won the eagles a Super Bowl. Put some respect on that man’s name. Could also mention ertz who was instrumental too.

The problem with this list is while it’s not incorrect, it’s missing the context of the dozens of other moves that we were linked to during that time as well.

We have been linked to pretty much every first round OT, OG, WR, TE, DE prospect. So unless we end up with Byron Murphy or Malik Nabers, someone can post here on Friday "They leaked we were gonna take xxxx! How did they know?!”

Some guys (ex: Jake Rabadi, Tony Pauline) were significantly more specific.

Zero chance we go TE in the first.

WR would have to be a really weird situation, but I could maybe see it if Brian Thomas is there and no one is willing to trade up.

I am one of the few that would not be disappointed at all if we drafted another wide receiver in the first round . I'm not big on Paris Campbell or Parker.

Trade up- Brock Bowers ( put him in a roll similar to Jimmy Graham and Dallas Clark. Mainly run him in the slot with Goedert still starting TE)

Stay put- Brian Thomas Jr. if he falls to 22

Trade back- Ladd McConkey/Adonis Mitchell

There are a few options I would take in the second round or even third/fourth round. But those are the only ones I would consider for first round

Any chance Alt drops to say 11 (Minnesota) and we trade 22, 50, and a pick next year to snag him?  Minnesota in this instance missing out on a QB and can still take Nix at 22

The wild card would be a major injury. Otherwise isn't that what Lane said? 2 more years? Something like that.

Love to see Johnson for 2 more seasons.  But he has missed games in recent seasons.  It is likely trending to the worse, as he ages.  Having a back-up ready to step up is rather pressing, next season if not sooner.

If Alt makes it past Tennessee, he won't slip out of the top 10.  No shot unless we make a major move up.

Highly doubt it. Even if he slips just a bit teams will come calling that will be ahead of the Eagles. I don't think anyone would prefer moving that far down in the 1st vs moving back a few spots.

Not to worry.  The Eagles have found a way to select them all.    Howie is a genius!

Depends on how the board breaks.  I wouldn't be mad if they went WR if there was a run on CB and OL.  I'd be super pissed if, say, Quinyon Mitchell was sitting there and we went WR.

I really want Legette in the 2nd.  Move up on Friday to get him.  Instant 3rd WR and if he continues to develop we have a contingency plan if we can't make things work with Brown for whatever reason.

I don’t see any way we go TE in the first, even for Bowers. Is he a good prospect? Yes, of course. But is he a generational talent? No. He’s small with good not great athleticism. He’s not a good blocker. If you want a slot receiver, draft a WR for the slot.

I think WR would be a situation where we are funneled into it. All the good DBs and OTs are gone, no trade downs available, DEs we don’t like… and Thomas is sitting there.

2 main reasons

1) There is no king beat writer that the Eagles have to play nice with. In some other markets, there are 1-2 guys who are THE voices that they have to placate. The Philly media is so large and fragmented, that no individual beat writer matters.

2) Lack of actual journalism chops. Ex: Reuben Frank has been around for years, but he's known for random stats not reporting. You can say the same thing about a lot of guys. They can do the humanitarian stories (ex: Fletcher Cox and his hometown), comp picks (Kempski), but rarely news.

I will shoutout Derrick Gunn as well. He gets all his scoops from the players, because they actually trust him and you can tell.

Wrong. It’s because the Eagles are overly sensitive and want to control narratives so they they feed scoops to the access national journalists who happily accept whatever they get in order to keep their access.

Yes. It’s clear he has the trust of a lot of players (not Fletcher, lol) and people inside the front office. Gunn  has the most trust among the players.

All in on Mitchell

What a monster waste of resources that would be given the OTs and CBs that would be available to them.

I only gave the confused emoji because your post actually makes sense!

Ideal day 1/2:

Trade up for Bowers using our 2024 and 2025 first

Bo Nix and a RB in the second.

Yup. Ive said the same thing. McLane has  sources in that organization that tell him stuff and give him the green light to drop stuff. It’s why when people get mad he drops something they don’t like i always say it’s someone inside that organization telling him that. Should be  upset someone was willing to tell him that

WR is plausible to me because I have serious doubts AJ Brown will be here past 2024.  Still good WRs available at 50 and 53, though

OT with versatility inside is plausible to me because there's no depth after the starting 5, other than Hennessey

CB is plausible because the starting boundary CBs are old and declining.  It's the biggest "need" for sure, even though you shouldn't draft for need.  Lots of smoke CB will be the first round pick.

EDGE is plausible because the Eagles lack a true DE with power who can push an OT backwards

Depends how the board falls, but I think there will be a run on both OT and WR after the QBs go.  Howie may be forced into an existential crisis having to choose between CB and EDGE.

That's fair, Bo Wulf certainly isn't for everyone. I think Berman is a little too straight man and needs a partner to play off of in this new journalism/podcast world. The non Bo pods with Zach leading are a little boring. He'd be good paired with someone like Kempksi or just Kapadia.

Zach is fantastic but can get a boring and nerdy by himself. Bo isn't nearly as funny as he thinks he is but when he talks football he knows what he is talking about and does keep things light. They are a PERFECT compliment to one and another and combine to make the best Eagles POD out there. The show got WAY better when Kapadia left who would constantly derail conversations by giggling and making everything turn into amateur comedy hour.

No disrespect to BDN or Ertz. But yeah man, I'll take the SEC guy over the PAC 12 guy 9/10 times.

That said, Rome Odunze is a stud. Won't happen, probably shouldn't happen, but if it did, I wouldn't complain.
