Stop Trying to already build in excuses if he fails

I said after they lost to Tampa Bay that we were gonna learn a lot about what Jalen hurts is in 2024. If he’s able to get himself back to where he was in 2022, then everything is fine. Because if he can play quarterback at that level we are fine and can win at the highest level consistently with that type of QBing.

However, if he goes out there next year (and i don’t think it’s just going to be sirianni and Johnson again. They’ll be some changes in the offensive staff) and he’s closer to 2023 and 2021 then you have to have the conversation we all had with Carson wentz at the end of 2019. Even before Carson Wentz’s complete downfall in 2020, there was discussions that he is never going to be 2017 Carson Wentz ever again. That was more of the outlier here in his career, surrounded by the norms of his 2016, 2018 and 2019. I think next year is going to tell you all a lot about the future of this franchise and where exactly it’s at the quarterback position and just the team in general.

Players who got better here, among others:

Hurts

Mailaa

Goedert

Sweat

Williams

Blankenship

Covey

Hurts took a huge step in 2022 but regressed this past year.

Mailata is a unique story and it's hard to argue what he's become but at the same time, he regressed this year.

Goedert hasn't developed and taken that next step. He's the same Goedert as he was 3 years ago.

Sweat too a leap last year but regressed terribly this year.

Milton Williams is anything but consistent. He's not developing how you'd hope. He flashes based on natural ability. He's not being coached up.

Blankenship is one of the most overrated Eagles IMO. He makes a nice tackle here and there but the Eagles complete incompetence at safety means someone has to look good. He's the Alex Singleton of safeties.

Britain Covey was a known ST ace at Utah. For those that followed his game in college, this is what you expected. Have they figured out how to develop him and use him on offense? Nope.

More likely to lose Halaby.

Remember when people were fighting tooth and nail to defend Jalen by saying he had no continuity with coaching and that's why he wasn't progressing?

Well he's had Sirianni for three years and Brian Johnson is close with him personally, but he once again reverted back to his usual self.

If he was on the Cowboys people would be slamming him for not being able to stay in the pocket, missing open receivers, rolling right constantly, etc.

He is what he is. Many of his flaws from college continue to pop up years later. He needs a lot of work

Makes sense. I think it was the phly podcast that said tepper views the eagles as the organization he wants to become. So halaby makes sense. Wouldn’t be surprised if they hire Brian Johnson if they don’t get slowik or Ben Johnson. Former Qb that might be able to help young and eagles organization tie.

For those of you who watch pre-game stuff, does Gronk provide anything of value, or does he just, "Dur, dur, dur” for a couple of minutes and then they never go back to him?

If the Colts can just say no why is his name being thrown around

Yup

was last year an artifact of an easy schedule and good injury luck?

Zero pre game hosts provides anything of importance. Twitter and blogs have made them unimportant besides the weekly sob story they do

He does need help to get back to 2022 form, but the clown show of Siri and BJ won't get him there.

Get used to 2023 Hurts.

Having to rely on the Packers to do the Eagles dirty work by taking out Dallas and SF.

I believe he can move on because he would get playcalling duties here. If I am mistaken that they can block, typically teams won’t because they don’t want to block a promotion.

The best case scenario is if Jalen hurts shows he can be 2022 Jalen hurts. If he does not you are gonna have a lot of changes. Because it probably means your head coach is getting fired. cleaning house there. You’re probably in market to at least consider looking at QBs and thinking about moving off of jalen. Because I don’t think you can go in the 2025 if Jalen hurts plays like 2023 and 2021 in 2024 and just assume a new coach is going to change him. because now you’ve seen majority of his career has been that. And we are in the end stages of lane’s career and  the primes of some of these offensive weapons are dwindling away. I just have a feeling next season is going to make or break our head coach and what we do with the quarterback position going forward. I don’t think the Eagles if Jalen hurts isn’t closer to 2022 Jalen hurts are just gonna be accept the new coach is gonna come in here and he’s gonna be good again. I think 2024 is a major year and it is going to show us what this organization is going to be going forward and the moves that they have to make going Forward.

Who won the toss in the packers game?

The over the top Hurts haters always were and always will be pathetic now that they've gone back to their full on hating ways.

Your post contradicts itself. Can you figure out why?

Oh well at least they're palatable.

would be hilarious considering rodgers never could beat the niners but love does it in his first year as a starter lol

sad watching how efficient a little less talented offenses are

Offense had enough talent to be Top 3 in the league and 2nd half of the year was a pile of dog crap.

I know.  I said offense needs improvement.

But you can't tell me the defense wasn't awful and a bigger issue.  I mean they couldn't stop anyone.

Turnovers were the main difference to me. He started pressing once the defense couldn't stop anyone. The vertical routes damn near every play and screens didn't help. I'm guessing they passed more between the hashes last year... just a guess.

Actually, the turnovers plagued him since the beginning of the season though. And a bunch of those fumbles came from his indecisiveness on the RPOs or read options. Not deciding if he should hand the ball off or keep it. That started before the defense really crumbled.

Also, if you go back and re-watch games all of those come from behind wins- we were often in a hole in large part because of shaky performances by Hurts. He would bring us back in the 2nd half and everyone would sing his praises, forgetting what he did to put us in the hole to begin with. He struggled all year long.

The only change was that by the end of the year he struggled all game long instead of just half of the game.

Going on the road and establishing the run. Wonder if Siri is watching this game and taking notes.
