We traded up for a CB who wont be dominant, while Mitchell lasts till 23, and DeJean lasts till 25. Also passed on Fuaga, Mims, Fautanu, Verse, Latu. To trade up for the wrong player.

It's funny I feel like Mitchell was pretty much universally listed as CB1 in this draft...until this past week or so. Now Arnold is #1 in about 50% of mocks I've seen. Nature of the process I guess.

I feel like it was Arnold originally, then Mitchell, and now back to Arnold.  My problem with Schrager's mock is giving up a 2 to move up for Arnold and then have Mitchell, Fautanu, DeJean, Barton, Latu, and McKinstry all available at 22 to pick from without giving up any value.

What are the chances we see a current stud player (from any team) get traded tonight?

Surtain?

Micah Parsons or CD Lamb?

Jefferson?

It may not be any of these, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a major current player is dealt tonight

Both Surtain and Parsons had their 5th year options picked up. How does that effect their trade chances?

I'd still be perfectly happy if the Eagles traded 22 for Jaycee Horn.

Gross, he shares the same sentiment that I do about CB.

Agree. But maybe start slow.  1 tonight, maybe 2 tomorrow and then finish strong with several more on Saturday.

We'll start slow and peter out at the end, and you'll LIKE IT

We found the worst possible outcome

I think the need as CB is a bit overblown and the need at DL is a bit more urgent than we make out. Honestly I really just want them to take the defensive BPA at 22 or with a slight trade up. DT, DE, OLB, CB whatever, just get us talent.  I get that the OL is the cornerstone of our team but the D was just so bad and we're trying to implement a brand new system.

I like Horn a lot, but he's been way too injured to give up a first for at this point given that he's only got 1 more years left on his rookie deal.

If the defense is going the route where one CB plays a lot zone and the other plays man - then I see the appeal of Wiggins as Slay’s replacement. If Fangio is sticking to heavy zone with off coverage than Mitchell/Dejean get the nod for me.

I'm fine with whatever. Our CB room is pretty sparse past this season so just having a bunch of guys shouldn't forbid us from drafting a (hopefully #1) CB of the future that should also see playing time this season. DE has been a need for a while but we seem to just keep kicking that can down the road because Graham keeps coming back. We should finally spend a more premium pick to replace him. He'll be better this year if we have someone soak up more of his snaps anyway.

That would be a moronic trade.

He must read the blog on catch up. Some of us have been saying that since February

Lol. The Eagles selecting a running back round 2?

The appeal of Wiggins is that he is so good in both. Because while one plays man and one plays zone more than the other, they both still play both. Thats where we saw Bradberry get beat in man pretty much every time he played it. And thats where we saw Slay look bad every time he passed off his man to a different zone and the WR got the pass right in that middle area.

Wiggins is great in both. He is the best cover guy in this draft and thats why hes CB1 for me. Add in his ridiculous 4.2 speed while injuring himself- he might be competing with Worthy for the combine record if he doesnt pull his groin there. Add in his physicality... Hes just the best CB period.

I had myself convinced for just the playmaking ability of DeJean for this defense. And I wouldnt hate if they picked him over any other CB.

But purely ranking CB play overall its Wiggins #1 easy imo.

In 2020 we almost took JK Dobbins while we had Miles Sanders in year 3 of his deal.

Sanders wasn’t nearly as good as Barkley. Or as well paid.

Were going to have to make a decision sooner or later with his cap hit being 26.1 mil and 41 mil the next two years  and he has no guaranteed money left in 2025

I'd rather trade 22 for Parsons.

Oh agreed. We shouldn't do it. But Howie might.
