He wasn't really a bust but definitely a disappointment in my opinion, I thought Lavar Arrington would be one of the greatest LB's ever.

Him too. Lavar Arrington and Andy Katzenmoyer were two LB I thought were the next big thing in the NFL. Absolutely loved watching those guys play football.

Kempski mentioned earlier, and he's right, that guys who are drafted as OG/OT usually start at OG and usually end up staying there. It's not a certainty, but that's the most likely scenario. Because they're usually really good at OG and teams by the time their OT spot opens up and it's time to move them over, they tend to not want to upset the apple cart and decide to just leave them where they're dominant.

I'm sure the Eagles know this. Would they really trade up to take a guy who percentage wise is most likely to just be a guard his entire career?

Kempski read my post.

I also said theres no added value in someone with that versatility because they are still just playing 1 position at a time. When you move him, you still create a hole in the starting lineup.

Its not the same as someone who is versatile, who you can move all over the place during a game and make teams game plan and have to keep track of him all game. The OL doesnt move around. He is filling 1 role at all times. His versatility is only theoretical.

Criminal he hasn't had more All-Pro nods. He's always been better then Kelce, who's thought of as a surefire HOF guy.

The PED suspensions worked against him for a few years.

So what the hell are the Vikings doing? They are the only team to do a pre-draft trade and then.... just nothing.

Supposedly, Monti Ossenfort said he's not trading the #4 pick until he's on the clock.  I would have thought a deal would have been made shortly after the Vikings acquired the #23 pick.  I can only guess the Vikings have been calling on #3 and #5, but #5 might not get them where they need to be, and the Pats are also fudging around about whether they actually want to trade or not.

If the NFL hadn't insisted they want no leaks of picks for the live TV spectacle I think we'd have seen more pre-draft moves before now.

Maybe they like Penix or Nix and are fine grabbing one of them with one of the two picks without giving up the other one.

Maybe but that feels like a lousy strategy, especially for a QB. If you love the guy enough you get him and do what it takes. If you just half ass it, you either don't like the pick that much or they get poached in front of you.

He also missed 13 games from 2019-2021. Which if he stayed healthy he likely had more accolades to add on.

that said when we look back at one point in time we had potentially 3 Hall of famers playing on the oline in kelce, lane and peters. And brooks who was a pro bowl talent

I wonder if they don’t have a good grasp on what the commanders are going to do. So they’re waiting to finalize that trade until they know that the commanders aren’t taking the guy they want. Then again if you’re making that type of trade pre-draft you better have some real good information that the guy you’re trading up for is going to be there when you move up.

It's part of the equation, sure. If Lane is still Lane however long he plays, he's the RT. But also "percentage wise" guys don't play at Lane's level late into their 30s. You're mitigating risk at one of the most important positions on the team and getting a potential All-Pro guard mainstay on the "downside," though Lane still being great in 3-4 years is obviously not a bad case scenario.

It's smart because the pick value goes up once when it goes live because people feel the stress more of the need.

For example if three quarterbacks go one two three, another team may feel they need to jump up right away to get that fourth quarterback.

At the same time at the Patriots make a strange move and don't take a quarterback the pick is worth even more value for someone trying to jump up to get the third quarterback.

There's really no value in trying to trade the fourth pick before the draft even starts

Generally speaking, it's not dumb. Just not sure they'd trade up to make that kind of move.

Mosher says we had a top 30 visit with Wiggins. I’m not sure if that was previously known.

🤔.  Why not just buy a dog toy in the shape of a remote?

You'll feel better, and you'll save money too!

This is the first time in a while that we are going into round 1 without a great grasp on what the Eagles will do. In 2020 and 2021, it was clear we were going for a WR. In 2022 it was widely leaked we loved Davis, and in 2023 I was certain we were going to try and get Carter (Smith falling to us was a pleasant surprise). They could go CB, OL or pass rusher in the 1st round tonight and I wouldn't be surprised. Here's how I would look at things:

CB: Most likely Slay is playing his last year in Philly. I don't see any chance we pay him a $16.1mm option bonus for 2025, and as a post June 1 release, we free up 2025 space and carry $13.5mm of dead 2026 space. Bradberry won't be here in 2025 -- I hope he's not here in 2024. Rodgers isn't signed for 2025, so really Ringo is the only guy under contract for 2025 other than the UDFAs like Ricks (Jobe is RFA). So the need here is immediate -- we need starters for 2025 and beyond. That's why I think the CB talk is real.

DE: Sweat and Graham are free agents after this year. Maybe Sweat is brought back if he plays well, but given his knee issues...I'd rather move on. Verse and Latu have to be in play - Huff and Smith are really all we have after 2024.

OL: While I would be fine taking an OL -- Lane definitely wants to be here for 2-3 more years. If we can take someone who starts out at RG...would you move that person if they are playing well? I wouldn't - Dallas is about to make that mistake with Tyler Smith it seems. This makes sense if you have no faith in Steen and need a RG, but...I'd still think you can get that at 50/53.

All in all -- I'd go for a CB or DE in round 1, look OL in round 2 or later. I wouldn't hate them taking an OL in round 1, but it's not how I would play it.

This was discussed a few pages ago. He is the only one claiming this with no other sources confirming. None of the top 30 lists show this proven to be true. So it's unknown if he is factual or not on his claim

20/20, but staying put seems the way go here.

Looking at the mocks,  re the Eagles,  it seems that the Eagles will be able to get a CB at 22.  They don't need to trade up to 17 or whatever.   It seems like the Eagles trade up to get a CB,  and nobody else takes a CB before 22.

The mocksters have the Eagles trade up for a CB I don't want more than others,  and the others,  the ones I like more,  are available at 22.

Within the context of their mock,  they seem to want to prove that the Eagles are unnecessarily trading up.    I would think that if the Eagles were trading up,  it would be because they're worried all the CBs would be gone.   If CBs start going in the top 10,  top 15,  that might start to cause a worry and cause a trade up,  but if all the CBs stay available, I don't see the reason for the Eagles to trade up.

I just hope Lane doesn't fall off the way Peters did. That was just a train wreck to watch

Gross, he shares the same sentiment that I do about CB.

Ricks had a PFF in the 40s last year.   Young players who are not good are not valuable prizes.

I do wonder how much of that was the ACL injury

Imagine letting Josh Jobe and Eli Ricks prevent you from drafting Terrion Arnold or Quinyon Mitchell.
