  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

If Fautanu is medically flagged then maybe Fuaga is their guy. He seems the least Howie like though. He's not a great raw athlete.

Not at all.   Demetress Bell is just a phone call away.

Double Achilles, I thought.

He tore his ACL in 2017. The Achilles was 2012 - he played well after that. After the ACL, he never made another all-pro team.

So the only times it happened are when the trading down teams got absolutely fleeced? Seems about right.

Thanks.  Got my season ending injuries mixed up.

Crazy idea...but I have a sneaky suspicion the Vikings use Justin Jefferson and 11 to move up to 3 for Drake Maye.

NE called us about Brown, so they're in the market for a legit #1 receiver.  They can pay him the bag he wants, take 11, and then decide if they want to be in the market for a Penix or Nix-type QB there or if they want to move down again and collect more picks to re-stock.

Minnesota already has Addison and Hockenson, and the draft is deep enough at WR that they can get someone like Brian Thomas, Xavier Worthy, etc. with 23.  Their core of Maye/Addison/Hockenson/WR at 23 is locked up relatively cheap and they don't have to commit $30 million or so a year that Jefferson would want.

For as great as Jefferson is, Minnesota did only get 68/1,074/5 out of him last year.  A pretty steep drop off from the 128/1,809/8 from 2022.

You don't draft someone in the first round to be a straight up backup. It's one thing when you draft a Jordan Davis to be a rotational guy or a Nolan Smith as late as 30 who needs some work, but IF Lane feels like he has 2-3 good years left drafting someone who is a tackle only in the first round would be downright stupid. ESPECIALLY in the case of Mims and Guyton specifically who are projects who might not even be ready to be the main backup in 2024.

Thank god for the 30 second fast forward button.  I had to get past 6 minutes of self-promotion before they got into their draft discussion.

A waste of time.

I check in once in a while but usually turn it off after 10-15 minutes since it's the same BS every time. I'm a Bo and Zach truther. They don't claim to be insiders and just give their insights and opinions and while I get that some find Bo's dad jokes sense of humor annoying it's a good counter balance to Zach who is as serious and straight as it gets with his style.

If you think Mims has the potential to be a perennial all-pro, then you make the pick. Seems like everyone agrees that he has the highest ceiling among the OTs.

The annoying thing about drafting Fuaga would be everyone pronouncing it "Fuanga" for his entire career. Like "Tangovailoa"

Just inserting N's randomly for pacific islander players.

would rather trade back if possible a few picks, land an extra pick in 3rd or 4th and select DeJean, Kool Aid, DT or a WR

this seems somewhat reasonable.   Skip ahead a few hours.  Howie is on the clock at 22,  there are multiple CBs available, and team at 26 offers the 26th and a 3rd or 4th.  We have no idea which CBs the Eagles like.  They could like them all, roughly the same.  Anything we read could be lies,  because that's what the media does.  And teams are praised for head fakes and smokescreens.  Jimmy Johnson numbers.   22 = 780 points.  27 - 680 points.
100 points -  3rd round / 100 (end)

The Eagles have a good number of spots that need filled some way,  positions were aren't talking about.   The Eagles have 2 rbs.  Last year there were 4.  I would think the Eagles would want another RB,  just to fill the roster with players.    If there was a single person here who was singularly focused on RBs,  we would be hearing all about why 2 RBs are definitely not enough RBs,  why the 2nd is a great place to get a RB,  and a detailed breakdown of 10-20 RBs and why the Eagles should or shouldn't take one.  But there isn't that person here,  so,  there's no writing about that.    That doesn't mean the Eagles aren't short on RB.  They are,  but no one is typing about it.  That's not a signal from fans for the Eagles not to get a RB.

At this time last year,  draft day,  the player Eagles fans wanted the most was Nolan Smith.  I was one of them.   Jalen Carter was assumed to be gone and because of that,  no one was thinking about him.

The Giants are trying to get the most Daniel Jones type QB?  Tall, good athlete,  good academic school with a good law school in North Carolina.   Maybe they think that Daniel Jones would have been better if they picked him at 3 or 4 instead of 6?

He's not quite as athletic but he's got some Dickerson in him with the size and nasty. If they want to make up for Kelce retiring and help out Jurgens surrounding him with two big maulers like Dickerson and Fuaga would be pretty nice.

Perhaps but there is a TON of projection with that. Dude has only started 8 games in college. Add to the fact that he would likely sit for AT LEAST two years and it's a waste in my opinion. It's not like drafting Mailata in the 7th round and waiting, we are talking the first round.

I was certain we were going to try and get Carter (Smith falling to us was a pleasant surprise).

the consensus was that we wanted Nolan Smith, and no one was talking about Carter.

I didn't know they announced those before the draft lol always thought they did those as a surprise

I just hope Lane doesn't fall off the way Peters did. That was just a train wreck to watch

yet, even after leaving the Eagles,  Peters had a 77.5 PFF his first year away.

LOL no way - Carter to the Eagles had a TON of noise

Um.....bro......everyone was saying they would draft him if he fell and might even move up a few spots for him.

When we picked Carter I had to look up who he was.

Everyone was discussing the morals of drafting Carter for like the entire week up to the draft and some time after lol
