When we picked Carter I had to look up who he was.

incorrect.

Ive had him as #1 for us based on his playmaking and versatility. as well as factoring in who would realistically be available at 22.

I thought long ago that Wiggins would be gone well before our pick. Hes been my CB1 in the class. It was quite a while ago but Im sure I posted about what a great fit I thought he was here due to his ability in both zone and man, and loved that he played physically on top of it all.

You were arguing that Wiggins was too small.

If anything I was arguing that he plays physical despite his size.  I've repeatedly said he's not a guy who still dive out of the play like Asante did.  He's going to stick his nose in there.

Lane is still playing at a high level. Even though the 49ers dominated them, in the individual battle Lane owned Bosa.

The problem with Lane is their losing record when he is injured. They just need a reliable backup to start if he misses a couple games. It might be too soon to draft his eventual replacement, but if there is a potential stud OT there you take him. It's too important of a position. At least have an upgrade at backup because if Lane does show decline this year you have a stop gap and then get a replacement next year.

The Eagles lost - Kelce, Opeta, Driscoll - since the end of last year.

The Eagles gained - Hennessy.

The Eagles need to add 2 more OL from somewhere.

There doesn't seem to be any reason to spend big.   It seems like a player who played Right Guard would be a good call.   Because Jurgens was the starting RG last year, and he's going to Center.  The backup RG was Opeta,  and he's also gone.   Since all the spots that are not RG are filled,  and because 2 RGs were lost,  I would think a RG who was good in college at playing RG would be the reasonable way to go.  However,  Steen is there to be the week 1 starter.  If Lane was hurt,  Steen would go to RT.    Christian Haynes and Zak Zinter were both All American Right Guards last year.

Jim Miller on NFL Radio is still holding out hope the Bears aren't drafting Caleb Williams.  Some guys just want to throw misdirection out this time of year, but I think Miller REALLY does not want the Bears to draft Williams.

If you like the Bears, you wouldn't want Caleb Williams with the 1.  I would have kept Fields, and traded that 1 away for years worth of great draft picks.  But I think running QBs are best.

That Wonder Woman outfit did nothing for Lynda Carter.

Tee Higgins or Trey Hendrickson may be on the move as well.

I agree. For me I have Wiggins and DeJean ahead of Mitchell, Arnold, and KoolAid.

Maybe the Giants have been confused all this time thinking they were an NBA team.

the consensus was that we wanted Nolan Smith, and no one was talking about Carter.

That couldn't be further from the truth

You don't draft someone in the first round to be a straight up backup. It's one thing when you draft a Jordan Davis to be a rotational guy or a Nolan Smith as late as 30 who needs some work, but IF Lane feels like he has 2-3 good years left drafting someone who is a tackle only in the first round would be downright stupid. ESPECIALLY in the case of Mims and Guyton specifically who are projects who might not even be ready to be the main backup in 2024.

You'd like to get someone in the 1st that can make an immediate impact.  Seems like Carter was the first one in many years.

But I kinda agree with you.  If they draft a Tackle in round 1 to replace Lane, he might be sitting for 2 years.  Then what if Lane decides he wants to keep playing longer than a couple more years.

So, which is worse? Having nobody to play tackle if either Mailata or Lane misses time OR having a rookie get coached up by Stoutland to be ready AND have him available.

ALSO, both Mims and Guyton are 6’7” and maybe a little bit. How many NFL guards are at least 6’6”, do you know?

Fifteen.

The key with both these guys is they’re knee-benders, plus Aaron Donald retired. He was a unicorn. If they move inside they’ll be facing taller guys than Donald.

Is that inch going to make these guys unable to play guard? Hell no.

FURTHER, if they’re not ready to start tomorrow does that make them bad picks? Again, hell no. The Giants threw Andrew Thomas out there on Day One and he stunk for two years. Now he’s a top tackle. That’s learning the hard way on a bad team. I’ll be delighted with Mims, in particular.

That said, I have made no secret of my desire for Latham.
