It's been awhile since Jones but I doubt he goes for anyone with an injury history in the first 2

He went for Dickerson after Jones. I think it's a case by case basis. I could see them being scared of a guy like Latu but be comfortable with someone else with a torn knee.

On Fox Sports Speak just now they were taking about Caleb Williams' emotional stuff and if it's a problem or not. McCoy and Acho were going back and forth and ended up talking about being in a locker room together and how a few "well paid guys in the corner who controlled the music" in that room would have had serious problems with their QB acting like that. Any guesses who they're talking about?

AJ Feely of course.

We've noticed you're not an Eagles fan.

And as usual you don't know what you're talking about. Carter himself in an interview said he believed the Eagles would take him. It was very well known they were interested in him, and people speculated how much they might need to trade up to get him.

Well done Manu. Well done.

Last year got both Eagles picks right.

This year,  there is no consensus here for anything.  Last year,  there was much more consensus for Nolan Smith.   The closest thing to a consensus is that there are a large number of people who think that a good CB will be available at 22, probably.  But there are others who would like to spend as much as possible on a OT who won't be playing for at least 2 or 3 years.  The CB people outnumber the OT people,  but not by so much that it could be seen as a consensus.

Nobody is pretending when they say that there was tons of talk about the Eagles taking Jalen Carter if he slipped or just trading up a few spots to get him. I don't know if you are trolling, have a horrendous memory, or smoke a ton of weed but you are objectively wrong on this one homie.

Peters is on there.  Peters had a 77.5 PFF at age 39 after leaving the Eagles.

Peters was really bad in that age range IMO.

How is that 'impressive'?

If they're working the phones in the mid teens, Fuaga is likely gone. So it'll probably be Fautanu, Mitchell, Arnold, Mims. If they jump all the way up to 12 that probably indicates Fuaga. You'll have a good idea who they're targeting where they trade up(if they trade up).

If they trade up for Mims I will puke in my mouth. Dude won't see the field for 3 years.

Wait, people were talking about the Eagles drafting Jalen Carter leading up to last year's draft? No way.

In other news, I heard we landed on the moon.

It was a fluid situation.

So you're saying I need to edit my Masters of the Draft submission...

Mims really does make no sense. Lane is playing for another 2 years at the minimum, likely more.

Have a feeling Mitchell might be there in the 15-17 range if the Eagles want him.

ALL of the Big 5 CBs might be there in the 15-17 range.   If CBs start to go early,  the Eagles might want to take action to trade up in order to get one.   If CBs don't start to go early,  the Eagles might be confident one of the Big 5 will be available at 22.

I don't think that there is any consensus about which of the Big 5 is the best.  I prefer DeJean/Wiggins.  So do others here.

Others like others from the Big 5.  However, it seems like the same people seem to like the same types of things.   Trading up for a player despite that player not being obviously better than a player the Eagles should be able to get without trading up is a move that some people seem to want,  as if the player becomes better the more a team spends for him.   The attitude of "don't really care who it is,  as long as the Eagles can't take a good player from a later round, because they traded that pick in order to get that supposedly better player, probably because the media,  who is well known to lie, said to get that guy"  is not at all uncommon here.

If there's concern he can't hit a second contract, Fautanu would be a horrific pick.

I'm not certain about that...

edit: not certain that there was no mention of Jalen Carter.

think about how many short and fast wrs are going to be in the draft in 22 years.

it's good that the NFL started the breeding program.

Breer:

The Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, Colts and Jaguars are among the teams that have been exploring a trade up. Philly and New Orleans, as I see it, might be competing with each other for a tackle, perhaps Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga (who could sneak in the top 10 to the New York Jets). The Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos have called around going both ways, and the Tennessee Titans and Falcons have investigated moves down from 7 and 8. Also, the Houston Texans have at least made calls on jumping back into the first round from their second-round spot at 42.

If all this trade up smoke is real, I'm almost thinking just trading back is better. Even if you can get in the teens the cost will be higher than usual for prospects less valuable than usual.

I'm not sure,  but definitely maybe.   Get rid of the 2024 1st and get a 2026 1st as well as a 2024 2nd or 3rd,  and have a big "we're getting that backup RT you want in 2026 with this 1st rounder" ceremony.

I can't see the difference, right now before the CBs have gone away, between some CB drafted at 12,  at 17, at 22, at 27.   No one has made a truly persuasive argument that one of these CBs is better than the others.  My preference is DeJean and Wiggins but I don't think anyone has really made a persuasive case that those 2 are better than the other 3,  or that any of the other 3 are best.

Still can't quite understand how people have such a low grade on one of the safest 1st round picks. DeJean can play S, nickel, and boundary. SMH
