  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

The exceptional depth at OL is generally a good thing.  Unfortunately, it also creates several credible scenarios.

 1. OTs that would normally only be found in the top 10 will be available in the teens.  Go up and get one.

 2. There will be attractive OT options, that would normally slip into round 1, available early in round 2.  Wait for one of them while grabbing a CB or Edge in round 1.

 3. Exceptional options at iOL will also be available in round 2.  Forget about OT.  Get a stud OG, put him next to Jurgens and Dickerson, and run the ball all day between the tackles.

Scenarios 2 & 3 still possible.

Mitchell and Ringo are both sub 4.0 guys who are bigger corners. It's rare to get one guy like that in your secondary, much less two.

Slay was a sub 4.4 guy.

It might not mean anything at all in the end. It’s just the "too good to be true” especially with the draft has burned me too many times

I hear ya.   But, I remember hearing years and years ago that when you drafted the top OT outside the top 5, you don't have a blue chip guy... but we selected Tra Thomas at #7.  That turned out pretty good.   If this guy turns out as good as Tra was, I'll be thrilled.

Why would you trade down when you got the number one prospect in a position of need?

Because I don’t think there is a huge difference between the DBs.

Prediction: you won’t have to wait for 2025 to see Mitchell and Ringo start a game together outside.

Rumors had him getting selected at #14/15.   He landed at #22.   That's a lot of money he won't be seeing on that rookie deal.

But, some guys just aren't demonstrative.

He's always seemed like a bit of an intense guy from what I've seen pre draft. Considering he's a CB and they're all a little Fed in the head, I'll take it.

Lions gotta be taking Arnold.

Eagles have gone from a slow secondary to:

Ringo 6-2  207  4.36

Mitchell 6-0 195 4.36

Rodgers 5-10  174  4.31

He's not a very big corner.

Is this pick a consensus love for the blog.  Haven’t really seen any negative posts about it yet

I’m thrilled. It was a no brainer pick.

He smiled at pointed at the Eagles fans when he came out. Devonta looked "miserable” too. I don’t care.

Comparison Jeremiah gave him is awesome. I’ve loved jaire since he came out of Clemson.

Now that we took Mitchell in RD1, I can now root for Guyton to fall to RD2 so we can trade up for him.

Biggest red flag for the pick so far actually.  when you put it that way, I worry if he’ll make the team.

Solid point.  We’re doomed

Why though? They already habe two of the best corners in the NFL amd both are young.
