  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Board fell perfectly for the Eagles.  Value met need at their pick, for once.  Hard to believe they could sit at #22 and still have their pick of all CBs in this draft.  That’s like getting an extra draft pick, as many pundits had them trading up from 22 to 12/13 range to draft Mitchell.

I felt like a Ravens fan tonight.

Would love to get Zinter sometime tomorrow or early Saturday.

Does everyone think Howie tried to trade up for an OT and failed or did he want a CB all along and played it right?

I think he wanted an OT. He sounded like he was torn on the podium. Probably would have taken Fautanu and considered Guyton. Don’t get me wrong they obviously liked Mitchell more but you know how they value OL. I’m nearly 100 percent certain they grab one tomorrow

That's pricey to get to say 35. But you're right. If Howie wants to, he could.

A trade up with DC at #40 getting back their third at #67 would be 755 points to our 770.

Basically drop down half a round to get our guy.

How does everyone like the pick? Was certain they’d go pass rusher.

18 picks until the Eagles.  Gotta imagine there will be a run on DBs early on which will help.  Lots of good iOL and WR left that would make sense at #50. Wilson/Cooper at LB and a handful of DL players too. I'd be OK moving up for DeJean Suamataia or Newton. Otherwise just let the board fall.

Yup.

Not sure I’d even trade up for Newton. DeJean and Suamataia are the only guys I’m enthusiastic to trade up to get.

Otherwise sit tight and some good OL, DL, LB, and WR prospects will fall into our lap.

Absolutely stunned and thrilled that the best CB in the draft fell to us at 22. Just unreal.

6 QBs taken in the top 12 certainly helped. So glad they didn't have to trade up.

Between Carter at 9 last year and this pick, wow.

I think Howie trades up tomorrow and then trades back too

There aren't any players really worth trading up for in RD2 other than maybe DeJean.

I'd love to trade a 2024 2nd for a 2025 1st if someone panics....or a 2024 2nd for a 2024 3rd and 2025 2nd.

No chance someone trades a future 1 for pick 50.

Penix is about to turn 24 years old next month.  Cousins signed a 4-year contract a month ago with $100M guaranteed, which means he’s playing at least two years

Falcons didn’t tell Cousins they were drafting Penix until they were on the clock; Cousins was unsurprisingly not impressed

Falcons haven’t drafted a decent defensive player in the first round in forever.  When they were on the clock at #8 there had not been a single defensive player drafted to that point.

Falcons will very likely be stripped of a first or second round pick in next year’s draft for tampering just to sign Cousins as a free agent,

I’ve got to type up a resume and apply for the Falcons GM position.  I’m admittedly pretty stupid, but I don’t even approach this level of stupidity

Oh yeah, almost forgot — Penix isn’t even a true first round prospect!!  He’s really not very good …..

Most of those 23 teams picking offense in round 1 likely to be going defense in round 2.

Guys I like tomorrow. Whether they are likely to be there at 50/53 or not.

Newton, Edgerrin Cooper, DeJean, Colson, Zinter,  Mahogany, McKinstry, Sainristil, Max Melton, Rakestraw, Brandon Coleman, Powers-Johnson, Troy Franklin, McConkey, Roman Wilson, Corley,

Love the pick, getting the number 1 corner in the draft vs the number 5,6, pass rusher is a great value pick

Only pass rusher I really liked in the 1st was Latu but he didnt drop, i think hes the best defensive player in the draft and I dont think mitchell is too far behind, and eagles got him at 22🏆

Better start looking at OL. No chance we aren’t picking one tomorrow night.

Shouldn’t Roger Goodell know that Jordan wasn’t part of the international program and was drafted.

or just better story to ignore that

Suamataia. Going to speak this into existence!

If you told me the Eagles were able to trade up for him or Arnold with only their 4th round pick as a chip, I would have been thrilled. To sit at 22 and get the best corner, whew. What a night.

I can’t wait to see how he and Ringo develop under Fangio.

Wouldnt be surprised with OL and edge.

Sure WR and LB would be the sexy picks but I dont think Howie strays that far from the trenches

Zinter or Powers-Johnson. Don't reach for an OT.
