Interesting that Jeremiah has him in the 100s.

I still believe Steen is moving back to tackle and we’ll be looking more at guard. But if we are looking at tackle. I’d add Fisher and Rosengarten as guys to watch.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Most of those 23 teams picking offense in round 1 likely to be going defense in round 2.

Wouldn't surprise me at all, but after nabbing Mitchell I'm fine with that. With Dejean, McKinstry, Rakestraw, Melton, Sainristil, Phillips etc still there I imagine DB will be a heavily targeted position. I'd prefer a high end defensive guy like DeJean or Newton or even one of the edge rushers left, but if we have to take an offensive player the remaining OL/WR prospects should still be very solid at that point in the draft

I love the transparency.

He could be there. He had a lot if hype to start the year but kind if fell off towards the end and got lost in the shuffle throughout the pre draft process

I think hes an eagles kind of OL as in he can and has played both RT and LT and he could probably play guard.

Hes got good size and is pretty athletic for his size but OT is a premium position so id guess he might be gone but as a life long BYU fan id be ecstatic if eagles got him.

Zinter or Powers-Johnson. Don't reach for an OT.

Suamataia will be a better player than both of them.

I think Beebe is their guy. Maybe Zinter

Yeah, we will have to trade up with him. I think he’s going to be a monster in the NFL. He’ll just take a year of coaching to get up to speed, but he’s big, has long arms, and has really good athleticism.

Ok, that’s enough transparency, Jerry.

Now sign Justin Simmons 👀

Could probably play guard as well, though I dont remember him playing there at byu.

Just RT then LT

Thats some smart thinking!

I want Payton Wilson, and either an OG (Powers-Johnson or McCormick), or a big time playmaker WR3 like Troy Franklin. Add his speed to the offense- watch out.

My favorite thing about the pick is that ESP was disappointed by it. That attention **** weasel was trolling all week with his "CB isn’t a need, even WR is a bigger need” BS, and I’m just Fing tired of hearing his nonsense.

The draft broke weird and DeJean hasn’t gone, but I’ll give you some credit: Penix went high and Arnold and Mitchell didn’t go as early as expected, which you were pretty adamant that they shouldn’t if memory serves.

McCormick in round 4 or 5 I hope.

It would be too expensive to go up for him but DeJean at S with QM at CB would make that D special for a long time.

Im in for round 2. Higher than everyone else.

Hes a freakin mauler. But you can say that about plenty of OL.

He is versatile because he is an OG who can play center. He learned to snap and played center at the shrine bowl. But versatility is something you can say about a lot of interior OL prospects.

What really stands out on top of that stuff is how when their center got injured at South Dakota State, he started making the line calls from the Guard position. Thats something you dont hear. The guy is a beast. And then, hes very smart on top of it. Hes nasty, which is often a redeeming quality that you point out about someone who isnt that good. But hes also a student of the game who knows everything thats going on out there when his position doesnt typically require quite that level of detail.

In addition to whats inside his brain, which is his mauling demeanor, and smarts, he has a 94.5 athletic score.

Put all that with Stoutland and he is ready to contribute right away.

I think with Blankenship, Gardner-Johnson, and Brown the eagles will not be drafting a safety. At least not tomorrow. A day 2 safety is not likely to start here. A somewhat devalued position wont be drafter with a day 2 pick to sit on the bench for at least a year.

Signing Justin Simmons could be enough to make some changes to the depth chart though. Whether its moving Gardner-Johnson to nickel for the year, or  having Blankenship as your 3rd safety...

IF they can get someone like Bullard in round 4 who can play S and nickel, then thats something they should consider because theres an easy path to immediate playing time for a player like that.

My buddy coached him in high school in UT.  And his friend coached him in college.  If he drops to 50, this could be very nice (Borat voice).

Also coached Puka, who recently was at his house for a BBQ.

WR?  Da F?

My targets for tomorrow:

DB: DeJean

OL: Suamateia, Beebe, Zinter, Haynes

DL: Kneeland

LB: Cooper, P Wilson

WR: McConkey, Franklin, R Wilson, Corley

Add Newton, Kool-Aid, Powers-Johnson, and AD Mitchell to that.

Elated about the Mitchell pick. Gut says he fell a bit due to arm length (his was 34th percentile).

Yep. I haven’t really bothered reading up on day 2 safeties. There’s just no point.

CJGJ with Blankenship is fine, and Brown is a prospect that can develop into a starter. We don’t really have any motivation to put a premium resource into it.
