Doubt it

he has all the vision and processing to be a top notch safety

I do too, at this point he’s clearly one of the best players left, but it does explain him falling out of the first round.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

That’s a really good point.

DeJean was a boundary corner in college. He has the body and skill set that suggests he’s a safety or nickel corner but he hasn’t done it.

Does that make him drop?

The NFL doesn't see him fitting into the role he played in college, so he is a projection into the ones he'd be asked to play.  That seems like enough to make him fall.

Or they are stupid.

which tracks with all recent drafts

Most teams picking QBs in round 1 look stupid.

Jets (twice), Patriots, Bears, Browns, Cardinals, 49ers… just to name a few in recent years.

One thought, does Ringo or Mitchell have the smarts to play FS?

Not permanently (maybe), but if one is the CB across from Slay, and neither is suited to the slot, putting one at FS in 5 DB packages, moving CBJ to NCB, could be an option.

Like the idea of a FS with 4.36 and the skills to line up over a WR in man - gives you lots of post-snap flexibility.

If the rumors are true that we're trying to hop up into the early 2nd, I wonder if it'll be for Suamataia or Powers-Johnson

Hope they follow their first round strategy and go where the value is. That would be DeJean or McConkey. They're just higher quality players and good fits.

Imagine Fangio deploying CJGJ and DeJean in the middle of the field.

McConkey is fast enough to run the Quez Watkins clear out routes, but is so good in the short-intermediate game that he could easily be WR2 this year if AJ or Devonta miss time. Adds a ton of value in every scenario.

But what does the emoji mean?!!!

If you go back to the articles after they drafted Ringo, he was listed as a safety.

Newton, Fiske, Williams and Jenkins are all DT I'd be thrilled with.

Newton is my guy. Very unlikely he drops more unless something weird happens

McConkey just brings a whole different skillet than the rest of the WR on the team. You've gotta defend Brown, Smith and McConkey in different ways. Having 3 top tier WR is going to be the new way in the NFL. Just look at what Caleb Williams already has in Chicago and what Houston is building around Stroud. It's amazing that the Eagles have Brown and Smith for at least the next 4 years. Get a WR3 to go with them and Jalen Hurts has everything at his fingertips.

Man, I can convince myself on so many different scenarios right now for round 2.

McConkey and a Safety or McConkey and a LB I’m good

He also broke guys leg in November. Not the best thing to happen before getting drafted

You'll get an offensive guard and you'll like it

McConk and LB I’m cool.

Kris Jenkins even sounds pretty good

I wonder if we would have interest in Adonai Mitchell ?

I get wanting McConkey because of his fit, but Mitchell has a higher upside, better speed, and can play outside.

And he’s actually fast. He’s not a slow slot

WR/DT/LB in no particular order. Would like to see at least 2 of these selected today.

May be an image of 2 people, people playing football, crowd and text

Let me know if this one was already posted earlier and if it was then I'll delete this post.

I don't think the Broncos have as good a QB as good as Cousins on their roster right now, do they? Part of the WTF with the Penix choice is why draft a QB that high when you just paid a bunch for Cousins who has a 4 year contract.

WR I'm with but it's almost assuredly going to be OL with the other pick.

Howie went off the script this offseason but he's not going to let any question marks on the offensive line linger.

My bad, I meant to write "takers"

He's a top level talent with a lot of issues who is projecting as far down as the 4th round

He's really good but he has major personality concerns right?  Seems like a future Steeler.
