BTW....that #50 pick was from the first round trade Howie pulled with the Saints in 2022.

Howie whiffed on Jalen Reagor and Davion Taylor, then decided to level up.

He literally talked about how pissed missing on Justin Jefferson made him in the New Heights Kelce podcast without even being asked about it directly by Kelce. He volunteered to tell the story. Ever since that burned him, he's been good.

I really want to snatch his soul one day and parsons comes to the eagles.

So, in a draft short on talent after a certain point in time, the Eagles gave up essentially nothing to get 'their guy'.   That's good manuevering.

Hats off to Howie.

The man has ACTUALLY learned from his mistakes.

Well, Wilson is the highest graded… But I heard something about this ACL thing he has. Sounds scary if true.

Its a good thing, because that pick could have/should have gotten him fired.

Yes, Hyperbole.   I am still in mourning over that debacle!

In today's NFL, you play a lot of 5 DB, usually more than 50% of snaps, Eagles have 5 solid DBs and good depth behind them.

The wildcard is Smith, is he just an edge rusher or can he be a real OLB, in that case I can see a lot of 4-2-5 with Smith and Dean at LB at times.

Burks and White are more depth and patches

Someone on Reddit said the eagles got the special limited edition CB with white variant

This may also mean the Eagles like Tyler Steen 🙂

Nubin is a good one, unfortunately

Yup. I had a feeling they’d do a trade like that. There was no way they’d do two 2nd rounders then just wait til 120. And really didn’t have the assets to get themselves back into the middle of the 3rd. Got to believe 78 they take a OL. Maybe move up a little by adding a 5th.

At this rate Howie is feeling himself and I fully expect him to take Trotter Jr. even though he’s tiny.

There’s probably a Marvel universe where DeJean is Asian.

I didnt hear the TV because I was looking at stuff and typing on here, but the graphic on ABC definitely said CB which is why I am saying he was announced as a CB. So.. who knows we will have to watch a replay of the pick on youtube

Halfway through the second round.  1 OL.

Trotter Jr with a 3rd round pick is fine.

The 3rd round pick is ALWAYS the head scratcher here. This is where Jalyx Hunt comes in to play. Probably early for him. And yet, he just might work out.

What I also like is that DeJean is an excellent tackler, and Mitchell only  missed like 3 tackles? So, also a good tackler. Defense needed tackling last year. Now with those guys, and Blankenship its a pretty good tackling secondary.

Does seem like a lot to give up but definitely happy with the pick

I would call it a perfect trade.   I was looking at this exact scenario.

At the beginning of the day,  the Eagles had 2 day 2 picks.   After the trade,  2 day 2 picks.

That's how I saw it going.   I don't think Cooper DeJean would have fallen to 50,  and if I was sitting in that draft room I would not have wanted to bite my fingernails for 10 picks.

I see, now,  3rd round pick,  OL.  Right guard.  Christian Haynes or Zak Zinter.  Both played Right Guard.  Both All Americans.  But one should be available in the 3rd.   Or one of those RTs who should be able to play RG,  that people are talking about.  I like Lane and don't want to push him out the door.

The Eagles are on top of it,  doing a great job.  I really like the player,  really like the trade,  and the Eagles don't lose a pick.
