  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Lions took the S the Eagles spent a lot of work on Sione Vaki and announced him as a RB. Weird

I’m not the biggest fan of Shipley as a runner, but he is pretty good as a pass catcher.

You ever use resort pass around here? Did one today for a resort on Lake Travis but didn’t realize it’s this windy today lol. Oh well.

I wouldn't have been angry if Howie took one of those 4ths and took a stab at a TE.

Otherwise I'm not surprised that he's collecting picks for next year.  Howie always does this.  There's no real difference makers at this point in the draft, only swings at players you personally like.  If Howie's not in love with them, reloading for next year is the smart move.

I thought that Mo Kamara from Colorado St was pretty good.  Could have taken him for an edge rusher.

And who on the roster would he beat out? They have Smith, Sweat, Huff, Baun and Hunt.

So you are telling me, all these other teams wont find players in the 4th rd who will contribute this year, that they are all stiffs, and no players we could have had,  would help our team this year?

I guess????  Nah, I'm not buying it.  If thats the case, we should have traded up into the 2nd and 3rd rounds.....   Yes they like our roster- and no we dont have any real LB's

4th rounders become starters about 15% of the time.

And this is a weak draft, so likely lower than that.

And we DID trade up in the 2nd round to get a blue chip player.

People have assumed the Eagles have been trading back because the players they targeted got taken. We saw with their trade with DeJean when they really want someone they specifically target them and explore ways to get them. It's becoming obvious to me, Howie's plan starting late last night was to load up for the 2025 draft. And not just so they have more picks, but they'd also be more valuable as trade chips than they were this year.

Deferred the Lane replacement strategy until next draft (trade up required).

A running back, hahahahahahaha.

Man this draft went downhill like a runaway train.

We have no oline depth and our interior dline just lost its workhorse. But sure take a running back just in case Boston Scott isn't available off the street if three other guys go down.

Shipley could easily edge out Gainwell.

Great strategy to punt since this draft sucks.

Fools crying about it will be knobbing Howie next year for having extra picks in a stronger draft.

Brad Holmes is just trying to show off at this point.

Who went in the 4th round that you think would have been an impact player for us this year?  I'm genuinely curious.

Thats not my point. My point is these guys who are professionals are basically saying there wasn't anyone, and I am saying these other teams will still find some players who will, and could have helped our team. I dont get paid to eval talent, they do.  Apparanetly our LB's are good enough.  HAHAHAHAHA

We went into the day with only 6 picks next year and will be getting no comp picks. We had no 4th or 6th but an extra 7th

As we stand it, it’s up to 9, with a pick each round but an extra 3rd and 5th, 7th but no 6th.

Those extra picks allow him to have flexibility to move up next year in the early rounds.

Wonder if any vet WRs/LB/DL are available for a 5th.

My prediction is since they weren't able to get their OT of the future this year, Howie in either next year's draft or the 2026 draft will do a major trade up for a top OT in the class and will need all the draft capital he possibly can have to make it happen.

yes they did, and then they basically said - this draft is over, lets get ammo for next year.  I'm not wrong.  Took a huge Project in the 3rd rd, and a meh rb in the 4th.

meanwhile. Ol/DL  are thin  and LB's are weak at best. I guarantee a team, some team,  will find a LB in the 4th that will out produce what we have on our roster.  it is what it is.

They all pounded the table for bad players who should be UDFAs or dudes still in school.

Eagles only had a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th for the 2025 draft.  Nothing wrong with collecting an additional 3rd and 4th.  Now they have a decent stock of draft picks for next draft, and will undoubtedly move at least one of the remaining 5-6 late round picks into next season.

What did our 3rd turn into? A 2024 3rd, 4th, 5th, 2025 3rd, 4th, 5th?

He's not beating anyone out.........this year.

I don't know, maybe he could develop into a good pass rusher in a year or 2.  If you're taking players this late in the draft that's what they are anyway most of the time, developmental players.

All those guys except Sweat and Huff are unproven.  Sweat is good but nothing special and Huff has had 1 good year.

It's not that there isn't talent, there just isn't stand out talent.

Guys who'd be 5th rd picks in other drafts are 4th rd picks in this draft, due to NIL (players staying in school) and other factors.

Howie added a lot of guys in FA to build depth for this season, so if a player isn't likely to win a job on the 46 (those who dress), he'd rather go for long-shot upside picks.

For one thing, they're easier to get to the PS where you can redshirt them - because other teams won't want to have to use a 53 roster slot for them.

Take ILB, Burks and VanSumeran are the backups. VanSumeran was raw when he came out last year, but has a year of coaching and is a plus athlete and a good STs fit - now what LB in the 4th or later is a good bet to beat him out as a rookie?

We get Trotter and Anais Smith in the 5th and I'm upgrading Howie's fruit basket to a full body massage

Throw in a Guard and I'll make it a Travolta Special
