Ok I love the Barkley deal

One thing's for sure. The Eagles are expecting Carter, Davis and Williams to eat up a lot of those snaps that Fletcher Cox played. I wonder what they see in Thomas Booker. He's a player. If Booker and Ojomo can become contributors rather than bottom of the roster guys, that would go a long way.

I think Ojomo plays a lot more than people expect. Hes a legit NFL player IMO.

That fact seems to get lost on folks.  We aren't looking for a 'slot'.  We're looking for a guy to be on the field in 13 personnel.

They clearly are or they wouldn't have drafted Smith.

Are we done?  We’re going to have to trade or cut a bunch if CBs to fit all these players onto the roster.

We have a lot of bum DBs that can go to be quite frank

I think Howie got aced on some of his targets, specifically Roman Wilson and Suamataia and promptly traded out.

I think they might've wanted Mason McCormick, trading out of 120 when the Steelers took McCormick at 119.

Not in today's nfl. You have wide receivers lining up in tight sets, you have tight ends lighting up wide etc. So that theory is incorrect. Now if he puts his hand down in the dirt while he's lined up, sure. But in the end he's a receiver that's about it. List them whatever position you want

You know what I meant wise guy

OK, now that we are seemingly done with the draft and I've turned it off. It's time for the NFL to have a separate broadcast of the draft for football guys. I don't care one bit about a single person they trotted out there for picks. That includes former players, DEI reps, Governors, International fans, NFL reps or anyone. I want someone to walk to the podium, announce the team and the pick and then get some solid breakdowns of said pick. I want this for every pick even down through the lower rounds. This was the most annoying draft to watch for a fan of the draft process, prospect overviews and other important football information.

As long as Mitchell and DeJean are studs, I'll take merely one of the rest of the picks being a starter/regular contributor to declare this a good draft.

Eagles had their pick of the litter with Mitchell and DeJean too. Everyone was on the board when they took Mitchell and with DeJean the best of the rest were on the board. If they miss there, Howie may never draft a CB again. Optimistic it'll hit there especially with Fangio here to coach em up.

Yeah it's extremely lame and annoying... Make your announcements before it's starts and leave the draft all football...

Post of the day, and for the love of God stop having that **** Schefter spoiling picks on day one.

No backup plan for when Lane inevitably misses time at RT isn’t ideal, but a solid draft overall.

Hopefully they see Wilson as a TE. They have no need for an outside receiver any time soon and not drafting a TE this year was/is dumb.

He has to be a convert I would think. Trying to do a Waller

Mitchell AND DeJean.

Still can’t believe it.

So I guess Hennessy and Steen battle it out for starting RG. The other is the backup there. The Michigan guy is the backup LG. And McMahon is the backup center.

Seems we know their 1st round pick next year. Its an OT.

Skeen is the plan

If you believe Reddick and he can play the right side MIchigan guy might get a chance to compete for the starting spot at RG.

There's a plan.  Steen to RT... Keegan/Hennessy to RG.

We could really use a legitimate backup OT.

I wish we had gotten some more speed at WR.

And LB, of course, is shaky even with Trotter.

But between Mitchell and DeJean, plus some good role players in the mid rounds and high upside late round picks, I’m pretty damn happy.

Now that the draft is over, Justin Simmons watch is back on.

I love the analysis.  The only problem with that is that supposedly this draft had less depth because of kids staying school for the money for the first time. Trading a pick in rounds 4-6 for a higher pick in a potentially deeper draft next year, when we’re spending even more on the Big Three players, would have been smart.

For now, I guess Steen is also our back-up RT, unless we get a developmental PS guy.

Constantly the talk is that the draft isn't about filling needs... then the draft comes, and people worry about the needs that didn't get filled.

They got 2 DBs that should be able to be cornerstone pieces for the foreseeable future.   After that they took some shots on some guys that could be depth pieces/role players.   And in a weak draft class... that's a pretty good return.

There are still some vet free agents available.   And if all else fails... JP is still out there.
