I hope this series is a learning experience for Maxey because he's really blown things for thr Sixers late for multiple games

Have your head in the game and know Lowry might (and should as he did) intentionally miss there to give the sixers a chance at getting thr ball back and tying thr game.

Yeah, I think Howie will be looking to upgrade.

I think he sees Keegan in the Driscoll model, solid backup but not expecting him to start.

The veteran OL they've added are placeholders.

If Dillard gets doesn’t make the Packers, a one year reunion wouldn’t surprise me.

Dude was terrible last year but serviceable depth under Stout. We have depth on the interior but the backup tackle situation is a little dicey.

I know this futile but I want to talk eagles not basketball.

Sixers are sunk.  No way they win Game 5.

Who is stopping you?

Sixers. The new Phillies. The new Eagles. The  new Flyers. Didn't even mention the Union. 🤣 Man, this has been one epic collapse of a sports town in recent memory. Each team simply crashes and burns and shows no fight. If I wasn't a Philly fan I would be laughing at this.... and trolling like crazy. This is feeling cursed. Imagine if the Eagles don't win that Superbowl in 2018. It would be inconsolable folks around here, beside themselves needing professional help.

No way do they only keep 3 backs on the roster. They kept 4 last year and Penny didn't even dress. Saquon is the lead dog but if he goes down, you can't just have 2 backs.

3 backs on the roster are plenty when you have a bell cow. They'll keep one stashed on the PS. Not paying all that money to Saquon to have some significant rotation. They kept Penny on the active roster because someone would have likely plucked him from the PS.

It’ll be interesting to see who lines up at first string backup RT

Missed it, will have to check it out.  I definitely think there’s an effective role to carve out for him.

We’ve all sort of turned the corner and like Covey now, but I see Smith as a potentially more talented, more effective version of that.

Thanks,  I wasn't sure what we ALL thought now.

I like Covey.

I also had the DeJean trade spot on.   But you're pretty sure you can speak for everyone.

Embiid wow. Yikes.

He only scored one point in the fourth quarter. This goes back to the bench and the non-embiid minutes are what’s costing the Sixers this series along with bad rebounding. Because Paul Reed has been terrible and cause the Sixers with Embiid off the floor are terrible, they can’t afford to have him off the floor. So the issue became they played him 31 consecutive minutes to finish the game. He looked gassed by the end of the game. You can’t do that.

He can play 42-44 minutes. But you’re gonna have to space it out his time off. I didn’t like the fact they went 5 whole minutes with him off the court in the 2nd quarter. That is insane and bad coaching. You should be trying to find 2-2.5 minutes every quarter where you can rest him so he’s not gas by the time you get to the end.

If college players enter the draft and they go undrafted can they go back to college football or are they no longer eligible?

Proud to not speak for you

Nope... no longer eligible.

Not that it matters but see varying opinions on Shipley. Will be interesting to see if Eagles are right because it seems like he was their guy and it wasn’t  a take was left pick

Next game should be the game where they flat out bench Tobias Harris. Absolutely useless player on the floor. Invisible mostly and super unclutch. Been a part of the problem all along. His long term contract absolutely hamstrung them to ever reaching their next level in Embiid's prime. If Sixers or fans have not come to realize this by now they don't know B-ball. Good riddance to him this offseason. Wouldn't even sign him for the vet minimum. Turrible player.

Kinnard is a strong possibility. Howie has pointed to his PS poaching on future contracts and Kinnard was an early one.  Note Clark has been the PS OT for a couple of years so that may be the option but I think they test youth.

I don't think Chiefs wanted to lose this guy. They were high on him shifting to guard. But time kind of ran out over there. Think he is the surprise of this offseason and makes the roster. Stoutland now has a new and young pet project.

I think they are really high on Fred Johnson. He's not here to be Lane's eventual replacement, but he's been around the organization for 2 years now and should be able to step in when needed.

The Sixers didn't collapse, they aren't good or healthy enough. The problem is fans convince themselves before the playoffs every year that they are good enough. They were not going to win this series or accomplish anything with their most important player on one leg. Was never in the cards. What's happening is exactly what's supposed to be happening.

Exactly Kinnard is the same age as some of these picks. He’s more advanced than a UDFA.  We’ll see obviously. But I think he has a legit shot

It was interesting to hear Howie talk about the UDFA class and their thought process this year. He mentioned they treated their Futures Contracts as an extension of UDFA this year while the 2025 NCAA draft class reboots itself back to "normal". It's wild to think only 58 underclassmen were in the 2024 draft.

With that being said, here's a recap of the 2023 Futures Contract players that we should be familiar with. Pulled from PE.com.

DT Thomas Booker

The former fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft spent the entire season on the Eagles' practice squad after signing with the team at the end of August. During his rookie year, Booker recorded 15 tackles, five pressures, and one tackle for loss with the Houston Texans.

T Le'Raven Clark

The eight-year veteran has played in 65 games (including playoffs) with three teams, including five with the Eagles in the 2021 season. The former third-round draft pick was re-signed by the Eagles before the start of the 2023 season after spending the summer with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

WR Shaquan Davis

The undrafted free-agent rookie spent this season on the New Orleans Saints' practice squad. Davis was a standout receiver at South Carolina State, registering 116 receptions for 2,452 yards and 25 touchdowns over four seasons.

DT Noah Elliss

The Eagles signed Elliss as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho before the 2022 season. Elliss was not on a roster through the first seven weeks of the season, but was signed to the Eagles' practice squad on October 24.

DB Mekhi Garner

Garner spent his rookie season on the Eagles' practice squad. The 24-year-old was elevated to the active roster three times during the regular season and once for the playoffs, playing 27 defensive snaps and 45 special teams snaps.

DB Mario Goodrich

Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022, Goodrich was elevated from the practice squad once in his rookie season and played in four games in 2023 as a member of the active roster. The former Clemson cornerback played 70 defensive snaps and made five tackles before being waived on October 17, signing with the practice squad two days later.

WR Jacob Harris

The three-year veteran has played in 17 games with the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Rams selected Harris in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft after registering 49 receptions for 987 yards and nine touchdowns at the University of Central Florida.

WR Griffin Hebert

Hebert was signed to the Eagles' practice squad on December 28, 2023. In five years at Louisiana Tech, Hebert recorded 99 receptions for 1,532 yards and 14 touchdowns. Hebert also has experience as a tight end and fullback.

DE Tarron Jackson

Drafted by the Eagles in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Jackson has tallied 17 tackles, nine quarterback pressures, and one sack in 21 career games. The former Coastal Carolina edge rusher spent the 2023 season on the Eagles' practice squad.

TE E.J. Jenkins

The 6-foot-6 tight end signed with the Eagles' practice squad on November 1, before being released two weeks later. Jenkins was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech by the Jets in 2023, catching three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown in the preseason before being waived on August 29.

LB Terrell Lewis

The 25-year-old was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In 30 career games, the University of Alabama product has recorded 40 tackles, six sacks, and one interception. After being released by the Rams on December 15, 2022, Lewis spent time with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints over the last year.

DB Tristin McCollum

McCollum made his NFL debut this season with the Eagles after spending last year as an undrafted free agent on the Houston Texans' practice squad. The Sam Houston State graduate was elevated from the practice squad three times in the 2023 regular season, playing 29 defensive snaps and making six tackles while playing a big role on special teams. He also played in the Wild Card Round matchup against the Buccaneers.

DB Tiawan Mullen

The undrafted free agent out of Indiana University was signed by the Los Angeles Chargers on April 30, but was released on August 29. Mullen was signed to the Eagles' practice squad three different times in September before being released on October 25. Mullen was a standout defensive back at Indiana, being named a first-team All-American in 2020 and first-team All-Big Ten in 2021.

WR Joseph Ngata

After a standout career at Clemson, Ngata spent the summer with the Eagles and signed with the practice squad after being waived during final roster cuts. In 45 college games, Ngata caught 88 passes for 1,287 yards and six touchdowns. He also had six receptions for 75 yards in three preseason games.

RB Lew Nichols

Nichols was drafted in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers after an impressive career at Central Michigan University. In 2021, the running back rushed for 1,710 yards, leading the nation. Nichols was waived by the Packers on September 7 and signed to the Eagles' practice squad on October 16.

G Jason Poe

In 2022, Poe was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers following a successful college career at Lenoir-Rhyne University and Mercer University. The 25-year-old spent time on the New York Jets' practice squad this season.

LB Brandon Smith

The Penn State product was selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. Smith has been on the Eagles practice squad since October 25 and was elevated to the gameday roster in Weeks 16 and 17. In 14 career games, the linebacker has made five tackles.

C Lecitus Smith

The versatile offensive lineman was drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, playing in 10 games (two starts) in his rookie season. Smith was released in August during the final roster cuts and spent time on the Texans' practice squad before joining the Eagles' practice squad on November 14.

T Brett Toth

Toth entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019 after receiving a waiver to pursue his NFL career while serving in the Army. The 27-year-old has played in 17 games for the Eagles (one start) over two years. Toth was signed to the Panthers' active roster from the Eagles' practice squad on October 24. He played in three games (one start) before being released and re-signing with the Eagles.

WR Austin Watkins

The 25-year-old wide receiver spent the 2023 season with the Cleveland Browns, being elevated from the practice squad in Week 10. The University of Alabama at Birmingham product was the Browns' leading receiver in preseason, catching 16 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns. Before joining the Browns, Watkins spent time in the Canadian Football League and the United States Football League.
