Supposedly just the MNF pregame, for now.

Bummer.  Was hoping he'd land a booth job.  Not a fan of any of those pregame shows outside of NFL Network.

After Ngata, the longest holdover and heaviest of the Big receivers that Howie has been collecting.  Basically replaced a 6’1” 239 lbs WR with a 6’6” 231 lbs WR.  Hebert was the shortest yet heaviest of the big receivers that Howie has brought in.  Big receiver is a battle throughout TC.

His personality would work well in the booth

Can Hurts do hot routes and blitz beaters? I don't think so.

________________________________________________________________

Because Hurts keys on one side of the field and a couple receivers.

He doesn't throw over the middle often.

At the first sign of trouble, pressure, blitz. Hurts takes off running.

He doesn't look for or find the outlet pass.

He is not a mature pocket passer that can punish the other team.

How do we know that this wasn't by design?

Impressive!   Can you do that with Select?

No, I can make select into longhorn or sometimes hereford.

I'm curious to see Thomas Booker. He's got a very similar skillset to Milton Williams and is a year younger. I was hoping Milton Williams would come in here and be a terror on the inside but it just hasn't happened. He's been OK, but nothing fantastic. Is there a drop if you trade him before his next contract and you rely on guys like Booker and Tuipulotu?

IMO, the next big question is what to do with Milton Williams. The only 2025 UFA decision of consequence. Do they extend him now? Trade him to a team that didn't get draft DT? Just sit back and let him walk? It's a tough call, because he'll make more on the open market than what we're willing to pay him.

I'm a huge Milton Williams fan, but I think they HAVE to let him play out this season.  If Jordan Davis has a good year, you have to let Milton Williams walk.  This team has SEVERAL big money contracts on the books.  We can't afford to pay Williams as the #3 DT.  It would make sense to restart the cycle and draft 1-2 new rotational DTs for next year.

If Davis proves to be a bust this year and the primary DTs are Carter and Williams, then you move some money around at the end of the year and find a way to keep him.

I really thought Booker had big potential. Im high on him and hope he shows up in a big way. Kollman was gushing about him pre-draft last year, and I remember posting their 1 on 1 discussion/interview in here. It was a fun listen.

Any teams invest heavily in LB during the draft that could have a starter available via trade as a result?

Only team/player I could think of is Shaq Thompson, but he's coming off a broken leg.

Williams is best suited as the "3" in a 4-3 formation, 6'3 with short arms isn't the best fit for a 3-4 DE, so his role is primarily DT in a 4-2-5 (with edge rushers standing instead of 3 point stance). So he'd have more value to other teams.

The Packers are loaded at DL and LB. They added Edgerrin Cooper and Ty'Ron Hopper in the draft at LB. They also added Javon Bullard and Evan Williams at Safety after signing Xavier McKinney in FA.

Not that safety is a need for the Eagles now, but the Packers have some extra talent on defense that I'd be interested in.

I am pretty sure Fangio plays a lot of 4 man fronts with 2 DTs.  Also, I think in his more traditional 3-4 look, he has one DT playing a 3 technique to the weakside and the other plays a 5.

I don't think Davis and Willams are playing the same position so I don't think you link the decision to Davis.  My guess is that Williams will primarily share reps with Carter although, he may play situationally with Carter on long distance passing downs.

Like me, I feel Howie is more excited about DeJean than Mitchell, even though I think Mitchell is a hell of a talent and the better outside CB. The versatility of DeJean just has me really excited to see how he's utilized.

Seriously.

Probably best to hang on to Milton Williams though after thinking about it. I don't think Jordan Davis is going to develop in to what anyone expects and probably not worth a massive contract.

Gargano said he talked to Steve Spags over the weekend and he loves Mitchell and DeJean. I'm assuming he'd say that regardless, he's not going to rip another team's players on the record, but Gargano said Spags told him he scouted all the DBs in preparation of the draft and he believes DeJean can play outside corner in the NFL. He's not just a nickel or safety.
