Right, right, and reading keys while making drops to all these zones are the same between the two. Clearly why you see it happen all the time, because it's no sweat for a seasoned vet let alone a rookie that's never played in the defensive scheme before. So easy a caveman can do it!

Ok I love the Barkley deal

1-0 Madrid!

Howie refers to Jalyx Hunt as an EDGE at least 3 times in his press conference discussing the pick.  "We believe in our edge group", "We didn't have to add there, but ... "

Really not sure where some of you guys are going with this 'he'll play some safety' and 'he'll be in coverage' stuff.  I really don't think so.

Did anyone think Trey Burton would have a passing TD in the Super Bowl? 🤔

EDGE can still be a 3-4 OLB. But he's not a 4-3 EDGE unless it's an obvious passing down.

I didn't hear Howie talking about developing Trey Burton as a QB either, so ...... not seeing an equivalence there.

DeJean played QB in high school. Another superweaponz!

Wouldn't be surprised to see him used in the wildcat at some point in the season!

I would

AJ sounds so humble and you can hear what the city means to him in that press conference.

Making it sound like the guys want it this year badly also. Saquon was also mentioned as being a leader already.

Think Zech Mcphearson has any shot whatsoever to make the 53? Everyone is analyzing the CB position and he isn't even being listed. I just assume he's gone, but I'm curious if there's anyone out there who thinks the guy may have a spot on the team.

I'd say the most DBs we would keep would be 11, though 10 might be more likely. There are 7 locks, IMO: Slay, Mitchell, DeJean, Ringo, Rodgers, CJGJ and Blankenship. Let's assume Brown starts the year on PUP to be generous. So 4 spots. I'd say Maddox is the next most likely. So that leaves 3 spots for Ricks, Jobe, Hall, Bradberry, McPhearson, Garner, Goodrich, McCollum (my order for how likely they are to make it). I'd think Ricks, Jobe (special teams) and a safety to be added in camp (if Brown can't go). Maybe Hall if you like him at slot. Just not sure where McPhearson fits.

These things both happened an hour ago. Story of two very different franchises.

Impossible. He shook his head once after a play and deleted his social media to avoid negativity heading into the playoffs. He's a diva! The next T.O.!

I think Hall is more of a lock than Maddox. Prior to DeJean getting drafted, I had both coming back. They put and enormous amount of work in Ricks last year. Unless he shows up without any improvement at all, I think he's a near lock too. I'd say the same for Jobe, like you alluded to, his special teams play is huge.

Can't believe two former Eagles made it to the Pro Football HOF today

I leaned Maddox given his history and the fact the re-signed him. But I could see Hall making it instead. Might come down to who is easier to sneak to the PS. Agree on Ricks being someone they like, but maybe Fangio has a different view. And I'd keep Jobe for special teams.

They didn’t want anyone to know 🤫

I'd say Bradberry is more of a lock than Ringo and Rodgers. Even as a post-J1 cut he doesn't provide any cap savings, right? So based on talent and experience alone, he's at the very least above Rodgers. I know he sucked hairy gorilla sack last year but I expect him to look much better under Fango and with some competent safety play behind him.

The issue is Bradberry doesn't play special teams, so you can't keep him as the 6th or 7th CB. You're going to move off Slay after this year and push his dead money into 2026 (post June 1 cut), so they should want Bradberry's dead money to hit in 2025 (moving Reddick accelerated his dead hit to 2024, so in 2025 they have Kelce, Cox, Graham and Bradberry).

And there's a better chance of me hitting a late growth spurt and becoming 6'2" than there is of the Eagles keeping Bradberry over Ringo.

I hope they replay this press conference.  I would run through a wall for this guy!!

I bet Bradberry is your starting Week 1 CB opposite Slay. The rooks would have to really shine in camp and preseason for an old grump like Fangio to start them on the outside.

He'd have to come into camp and look amazing. But the only way he stays is as a starter.

I'll make an avatar bet -- if Ringo is cut, you pick my avi. If Bradberry is cut, I pick yours. If they both make the team, or both are cut, it's a push.

Disagree.

The plan for Hunt is to be a coverage player with some pass rush ability. Would seem to be perfect as a dime linebacker.

I think you have it backwards. We drafted him because he has the potential to be a good pass rusher with some coverage ability.

I think quality control is the "internship position," where they spend long hours cutting up film and hopefully after a couple years have seen everything, so when they talk with their OC/DC they're on the same page. Probably comes down to how smart the young coach is, after a couple years watching every team and scheme in the league, they should develop a high football IQ. Once you become a hands on coach, your time is occupied by breaking down and building up your players and understanding your coordinator's schemes and what he's trying to accomplish.

He has spent five years as a QC so I think they are looking for more from Williams. I suspect that is LB/Box coverage.  An area of need for the Eagles.

Ringo isn’t going anywhere. Zero chance Bradberry makes the team over him.
