No simplistic is the emotional over-reactive take you are proposing.

its a WIP mouth breather take

It’s not emotional at all. The Eagles are a poorly coached team that is bad schematically, bad with fundamentals, bad with situational football, bad with game day play calling, bad with game planning, and now bad with locker room chemistry. This is the opposite of emotional, it’s a decision based on rationale and logic. I’ll argue saying a coach much be kept because the team won x number of games is abandoning logic and reason in favor of emotion.

Wasn't Johnson "Hurts's choice" or his best friend or some stupid ish and that's why he got the job in the first place?

Not entirely.   Was the QB coach and heir apparent to Steichen.  They have known each other for a long time.

Family friend.  Usually when these things start to bubble, means the ax is not far behind.

1. Jim Leonard: Illinois Senior Football Analyst. Interview for DC in 2023.

2. Jesse Minter: Michigan DC. Interviewed for DC in 2023.

3. Glenn Schumann: Co-DC Georgia. Specializes with linebackers. He knows the players. Interviewed for DC in 2023

4. Chris Shula: Rams LB coach. Interviewed for DC in 2023.

5. Dennard Wilson: DB coach Ravens. Interviewed for DC in 2023.

I would be happy with any of these 5 for DC.

I don't even expect this to be close, should be over by halftime

Detroit should be able to rest starters by the 4th

Weird trajectory with their relationship, Johnson seems to fit more into the "stalker" category than anything else

Jerod Johnson seems popular. Stefanski is a smart coach too. I wouldn’t want to hitch my wagon to Watson though.

Ive been trying to think of the Georgia guy we interviewed. Schumann. People wont want him because thats the defense we have been trying to run. But I wonder if they interview him again.

So they have to hire two new coordinators who are good but not good enough to get poached so they don’t find themselves in the same situation they’re in now.

I get the surface reasoning of not firing Nick. Three straight playoff appearances, one Super Bowl appearance, trying to avoid being on their third coach in five years, etc. But if he’s only as good as his coordinators, then they are in some serious trouble. And if you like him as a CEO/culture coach, what the hell happened the last two months of the season? What happens if they hit a two or three game skid next season?

Yeah what happens if they start the season slow going 0-1, 0-2 or 1-2 or something?  Seeing how the team quit on Nick this past season you would be at risk of that happening again early in the year if you bring back Nick.  It's risking a lot to hope he hits on new coordinators and they come out strong to start the season.

CJ with the pick

Can’t believe we are not playing today. What a joke

We would get beat by 30+

Welp.  More ex eagles.

CJGJ with the pick.

Don’t tell me keeping Bradberry over CJGJ was smart then, or in hindsight.

"Supposedly” Johnson went through the interview process without divulging that information, and only mentioned it after he’d been hired by the Eagles

He got the job because the Eagles are trying to replicate what the 49ers have had success doing in getting minority coaches and front office people hired as other teams' GMs and HCs to net 3rd round picks.

Fire Nick I can’t.

Buccs fing suck and we got destroyed.

CJ is such an instinctive player. That’s what you need on the team.

we have no one like that. Well we did, but he left 😂

Brian Johnson stuff is wild. Thinking about who would leak that, who even has the incentive? Makes Johnson, Hurts, and Sirianni look bad.

it wasnt about smarts.

And if our defense sucked, Im not sure how much Gardner-Johnson playing 2 games would have helped us this year. That is Justin Evans impact.

Tbf, they lost his contract by drafting him and letting him sit for 3 years

They should demote BJ back to QB coach or let him leave.

OC is a step too far for him
