Why should Nick stay? Can you gives reasons excluding the record?

Try not thinking like a 10 year old spoiled brat. Allow room for rationality and logic to creep in.

Spoiled fans want to turn over coaches at the first sign of adversity, but thats not how successful franchises are run. Youre talking about turning over head coaches and complete coaching staffs consistently every 3 years since Reid left how long ago? Thats ridiculous.

Even more spoiled by the fact that it has actually worked for the eagles and they have continued having coaches that can bring them right back. But thats only happened by excellent luck (like not hiring Gus Bradley), and having an elite GM (which dummies are also mad at).

When you have a guy who has you in the playoffs every year, with a super bowl appearance already, you stick with him through a little rough patch and see if it can just be brief. You dont instantly fire coaching staffs.

I actually like slowik more than johnson. I’m in the minority but what he did with a rookie Qb, rookie wr, Collins, a beat up offensive line much of the year and singletary as his lead back is really impressive. The lions are fantastic on offense too but they have one of the best olines, good WRs, great RBs.

Ditto. I'm leaning Slowik, Johnson, Vrabel, Harbaugh in order.

I wish less time was wasted discussing HC candidates when Nick will be here next year. We should be focusing on the coordinator candidates on both sides of the ball.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. First thing Lurie is going to ask him is what went wrong and how he proposes to fix it.

Nick will bury himself with his response alone, because if he has a somewhat logical answer, Lurie will just counter by asking why he didn't implement change(s).

I think that's the 48th time I've seen "coaching malpractice" used to describe Sirianni in the last 15 hours. Man he's getting skewered and deserves every bit of it. I'm just glad everyone else is seeing it because we've been complaining about it all year and when the Eagles were 10-1 we were "ungrateful"

You don’t record the games?  YouTube TV records all of them for free - for what it’s worth if anyone was thinking to switching to YouTube tv.

Que????????? The logical answer is replacing his coordinators which couldnt really be done in season. Lurie obviously knows that.

Preach! But nah, I'm working on my podcast.

Slowik is from the tri-state area too. Believe he is a south jersey guy.

Also helps.

I try to think the way lurie would be looking at it after last night. I think they know the defense is a mess and it’s gonna take time to rebuild that. But the offense has all the talent in the world to be a top three. I also kind of think he believes he can find another Jim Schwartz type of defensive coordinator on the market that can go with his head coach. I think it’s much harder to find a good OC that will stay if the Eagles offense has success. You are essentially gonna be back in the Shane Steichen issue if that OC is worth anything. I don’t think he wants to get himself back into that problem. So i think he wants a young innovative coach that doesn’t need to rely heavily on his OC to have success. He wants an Andy Reid.

Makes no sense for a winning team. They have never failed to rally around nick. We need scheme not rah rah bull ish.

plus a defensive head coach puts you in a constant state of needing an OC if you win. Sheil K has written alot on that. Any new Hc has to be on the offense

Yeah and if youre and offensive coach and your team is good then there is a chance you constantly  lose your DC.

Maybe get some guys at DC and OC that arent trying to climb a ladder and be a head coach.

Wade philipps, jim johnson types.

That article about Hurts not being happy with the play calling was also from ESPN national TV source.

Out of curiosity, who would be your choice for Coach of the Year? I'd have to give it to DeMeco Ryans.

Nonsense.  He fired the DC midseason, did you forget?  Siri also fired himself as playcaller year 1 and let Steichen take over.

So he *can* make moves in season, but he obviously made all the wrong moves this year.

It's not the first sign though. Logic would say that Nick isn't it. We crept into the playoffs in 2021 at 9-8. There was some remarkable turnaround from the team and Hurts and we got to the SB in 2022. We then got into the playoffs because Dallas lost when we failed to win games to get ourselves in

Whether it’s all Sirianni’s fault or not; I think it’s too late to just go in and replace his coordinators.   Pretty much every inside report is stating that Sirianni lost the team.  Not sure how you can come back from that by just replacing the coordinators.

There arent good replacements available in season. lol.

Then why fire the guy midseason if there are no good replacements?  Oh wait, he thought Matt Patricia was a good in season replacement.  Genius!

A move everyone was calling for not because anyone thought Patricia was the answer- but because something had to be done with this defense as Desai clearly wasnt up to the task.

It was objectively hilarious. My favorite part is when Maddox runs a pick play on Eli Ricks

Lurie will ask Siri the same questions he did of Doug before he fired him:  what are your actual plans to fix this?  Siri hasn't had a good answer and hasn't changed a thing this year other than swapping Patricia for Desai which actually made the defense worse.

Siri will probably give similar answers he has all year, and Lurie will hopefully see he's learned nothing and will fire him.

I just hope he doesn't wait too long and they miss out on coaches getting hired elsewhere.

This is exactly what will happen, but I think Nick will have better answers than Doug did.  Doug wanted to keep interns as coordinators and Lurie/Howie knew that plan was sheer hogwash.  Doug had also expressed a plan to install Hurts as starting QB even with Wentz still there, which wasn't realistic.

Nick needs to tell Lurie what he needs to hear, not what he thinks Lurie wants to hear:

1.  The current offensive scheme needs to be scrapped because Hurts can't operate it.

2.  Draft needs to be defense, defense, defense -- and the BACK 7, not DL.  Draft safety early, draft LB in Round 2, draft a stiff RB in Round 3.

3.  Bring in an experienced DC who will run an aggressive defense.

4.  The defense is a multi-year rebuild, from the pins up.  DL isn't in terrible shape, but LB and DB is awful.  Significant overhaul needed.

Those would be my answers.
