Josh Allen appears to be on the Donovan McNabb career path.

He wishes. McNabb went to a Superbowl. He's the Philip Rivers of this generation.

I don’t think Jackson is going to remotely keep up with Mahomes next week.

Baltimore has way better weapons, better defense.  But sometimes it feels like these games come down to superstar QBs just holding serve as everything else blurs in the background.  And Jackson can’t keep up.

Unless you have an overwhelming amount of talent on both sides of the ball, the deeper you get into the playoffs, the more QB level of play matters. It’s been that way for a while now, tbh.

If his dope QB sees him on 2nd down he gets them a first down and an opportunity to bleed out the clock and score a game winning TD or at least an easy FG attempt to force OT.

Josh Allen is tied with Mahomes as the most talented qb in the nfl.  I think it’s a pretty big drop off to the next tier.

Allen is just so hit or miss…and it’s not getting better.  That inconsistency really knocks him down a tier (or two) as an overall qb.

I don’t think they are getting a better chance at qb in the next decade.  So they might as well shuffle the coaching staff to see if something works out better.

Burrow is up there as well. Recency bias since he didn’t play this year, but dude has all the talent in the world.

Josh Allen is THE definition of a pro athlete with all of the tools in the world and no toolbox to put them in.

He’s also 5-1 against Mahomes and Allen.

Yup. That’s how I do it. I view it as MacDermott has probably gotten you as far as he can take you. If Bill Belichick is out there and I can bring in Bill Belichick, I am doing it. My window is now. I don’t have all the Time in the world to hope Sean McDermott putd us over the top the next 2-3 years.

I think they’re sitting where Tampa Bay was sitting with Tony Dungy. Tony Dungy was a good coach. Nobody saying he’s not a good coach. But the fact of the matter was they needed somebody else to get them over the hump. And Jon Gruden was that guy for them. I don’t know if Bill Belichick could do that anymore but I’m willing to take the chance that Bill Belichick can scheme something up that gets me over the top of the Kansas City Chiefs.

I‘m not sure they’re going to bring in another defensive head coach if their goal is to get Josh Allen to get better.

He deserved our polite support to get his 1st SB after we got ours.  After that, good riddance.

He helped modernize this franchise and bring it back to respectability.  But his offenses crapped the bed in the biggest playoff games.

That's a fair statement.

Watch 2nd and 3rd down before the FG. It doesn't matter what coaches they bring in. Allen isn't changing his DNA at this point in his career when the crap goes down he will always revert back to doing stupid crap and going hero ball mode as opposed to taking what's given to him and winning the big games in the playoffs.

You are probably right, but what else can you do?

It’s the 76ers with Embiid.  Always hurt, never what you need in that last series.  But you can either hit reset or go after it the best you can with that rare talent until his wheels fall off.

It’s a competency test by Lurie: Fire your lieutenant or you’ll take the fall for him.

Doug said he didn’t want to; Sirianni said yeah no prob Billy Bob.

I think Josh Allen deserves blame. He is not absolve from blame. His fumble is inexcusable even if they recovered it. Him missing diggs wide open is also a horrible miss at the end.

But I also look the Kansas City Chiefs played 18 games this year prior to this game. They scored 27 or more points in 4 times. Tonight they made it the 5th time this year they scored 27 points. The last 7 weeks look at how many times the Chiefs scored 27 points. It would be 1 time out of their last 7 games going into this game.

Don’t get me wrong Josh Allen deserves blame because he missed multiple open receivers and that fumble is inexcusable. But I also have to sit there and say Sean McDermott defense was facing the worst variation of the Chiefs offense since Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes came together. And they still gave up 27 points.

they aren’t going to trade away Josh Allen. The only alternative is keep running it back or change at head coach where you hope it puts you over the top.

I don’t want either to win, but I think it would be an entertaining game. Plus the throwback aspect to it.

Lions Ravens would be wild but probably a boring game.

That’s why I said they should’ve went after Sean Payton last year. Because you can maximize Josh Allen with somebody like Sean Payton. Ben Johnson and slowik aren’t proven to be successful HC coaches. Great coordinators but I’m not sure Buffalo makes a move to a complete unknown given their window is now. I’m guessing it would be a veteran coach like a belichick or a harbaugh.

Burrow is likely a better qb than Josh Allen…past, present, and future.

Pure talent…I think he’s pretty far off.  Allen and Mahomes have the ability to be off balance with a rusher in their face and place the football on a line anywhere downfield with a flick.

All true. However, they had first and 10 at around the 30 yard line with less than 3 minutes to go and had the game on a silver platter. On back to back plays Allen missed wide open WR's and instead went hero ball mode and chucked the ball into the end zone when they had to score and bleed the clock anyway. Obviously there were other reasons they lost but fair or not their highly paid franchise QB had the game in his hands and blew it yet again and gets the bulk of the blame. Diggs was so wide open right across the middle of the field that it's hard to imagine how Allen didn't see him.

I think Liona and Chiefa can beat the 49ers too.  But Ravens, followed by Lions and then the Chiefs are the order of beat chance.

Who the hell wants to see cheaty Mahomes win another one? And I despise San Fran. Bmore the only hope.

Dat arm strength tho...

It’s the perspective of a fan vs casual observer.  Was Josh Allen the biggest issue tonight?  No.

But the Bills will go as far as Allen carries them.  If he’s not up to par, what’s the point of obsessing over Bass, the defense, or others.

That’s what I’d be thinking as a Bills fan.  It’s what I’d be saying about Hurts if our Eagles had an identical loss.

As a disengaged observer, one might say why they heck are you complaining about Josh Allen.  What about the injuries, defense, etc, etc.

I can't stand Nick Wright and think he's a total fraud. That being said, he isn't wrong here. Allen's decision making on the last 2nd and 3rd down plays are some of the worst you will ever see from an NFL QB let alone an elite one.

The announcers need to start calling out Mahomes every broadcast for his crying to the refs. The league needs to overhaul the ref situation anyway, and one aspect is not calling flags because a player or coach whines about it.

I don’t disagree allen made bad decisions with the ball in the last 2 plays they had. To me he deserves blame. I think he’s part of the reason they lost.

I said last off-season they should go after Sean Payton to maximize Josh Allen and see if he can get him to another level in his game. I don’t love Payton but that was the only way i think you could try to limit some of Allen’s mistakes and help him improve.

that said Buffalo is over the cap by 43 mil so the window might have closed on this variation of the bills
