a lot of RBs in free agency though: swift, Henry, pollard, josh jacobs, ekeler, foreman, jk dobbins, barkley, CEH, aj Dillion and Zach moss. Some guys in last year of contract are: Jones, mixon, Connor, Mattison, javonte Williams and Stevenson

CEH would be the Pumphrey of that group.  He or Ekeler would be terrible signings

I’m not going after CEH. Ekeler i think is close to done. I think ekeler will go to a team like KC where he’d be a compliment to Pacheco.

I know he's supporting his brother and all, and everyone loves Jason Kelce....but maybe at least don't wear the Chiefs hat...you know the team that beat you in the SB last year?

You know his brother wears Eagles stuff to support him at Eagles games right

How much worse could they get?

I have to believe they will improve somewhat.   No where to go but up.

Teams can make jumps if they get the right coordinators and players.

Pipe dream (Hope Howie follows the Blog)

Dejean or McKinstry RD1

Cooper or Gray at LB early RD2

I’m actually more confused about the lions spread. 7 seems like a lot for a niners team that struggled to just get by Gb at home off a bye week. Then again the lions defense on the road gives up over a touchdown more and Goff the last 3 years has been significantly worse on the road. If deebo is dealing with an injury that’s an issue for the niners. I think the niners defense is what’s going to win that game for them. But i see that as a 26-23 type of game.

because the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, I would never say they’re going to get blown out in the game. But I think the ravens defense is significantly better than anything the Chiefs have faced the first two rounds of the playoffs. Tbh this year it would be the best defense they’ve faced. I would be surprised if the Chiefs scored more than 24 points. Unless lamar turns the ball over i tend to think the ravens are gonna likely get to 27 points. i see that one like 27-20.

Yet I can see Howie signing him. A bit of a do it all back who is young and will be much cheaper than Swift. Albeit, like you, he isn’t my cup of tea either - don’t think he does anything particularly well and isn’t very consistent.

Interesting trade target would be javonte Williams. I don’t think the broncos are sold on him. Payton liked using Perine and McLaughlin a lot. He needs a new contract after 2024. Could see him being a player that Denver moves trying to get some draft picks for

Would Swift do a 1 year  prove it deal?

Only if his market is unexpectedly very soft. He’d view this past year as a prove it - stayed healthy, produced, got to the pro bowl

It's apparent after watching all of the playoff games that having good to great LB goes hand in hand with success in the NFL and TE is a position that can't be ignored. There were TEs making plays all over the place in every game I watched and I think back to the Eagles season thinking what in the world did they do in order to get Goedert the ball? The only play I can think of was the great playcall for TD last week. It's a crime that they can't find creative ways to get him the ball.

They don't do creative plays.  It isn't about Goedert or the TE position, it's across the board.   But ignoring the middle of the field just makes it more obvious with the TE position as that's where most TEs do the most damage to their opponents.

Did you see the stat that we threw the ball between the hashes something like 5.9% of plays? When the hashes covers 34-35% of the field? I mean that is outrageous!

Yup.  I very much did.

Showing Travs future wife he will draw the attention to himself to keep the cameras from focusing on her all the time.  Good future brother-in-law.  Trav should propose now.

That begs the question of how much input Sirianni has on roster construction.  There are too many holes to patch in one offseason and replacing Kelce (assuming he retires) becomes a larger issue if Steen is not ready to start at RG.  I have a feeling I know what Howie prioritizes for this offseason, but for me it would be:

LB — need one high-level off ball LB who can make the second LB better.  Counting on Dean to start in 2024 would be foolish

S — not comfortable at all with Blankenship and Sydney Brown as starters.  Need an upgrade at free safety

DE — need a true DE.  Reddick is an EDGE, as is Nolan Smith

CB — do they gamble on Ringo/Ricks/Jobe starting at outside CB?

CB — get a nickel CB who can play; don’t pay Maddox another cent.

OG/OT — depth needed at both positions

RB — draft some young legs

Isaiah Rodgers has talent and could well be the starting nickel.

He already proved it. It's either pay him or let him go.
