You'd hope. They missed out on guys they wanted last time because they had a late start. Hope they learned from it and want to get right to it. A ton of guys to interview.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

It is opinion but not unfounded. "What have you done lately" is an annual evaluation for highly compensated folks who work at a leadership level. To your other point, Dallas is widely seen as dysfunctional, yet, the amount of talent they have is attractive to coaches who want to come in and show they can win. The Eagles have been to two SBs in the past decade. It is one of the most attractive coaching jobs in football. Going in a different direction from Siri is not going to poison the well. Waiting too long to make the decision might impact the quality of the candidates though. The other concern that I have is that the decision making process might be too skewed to the Reid and Fangio coaching trees. I have seen enough Fangio-influenced defenses for a lifetime.

  • The unfounded part wasn't to the annual evaluation line, I acknowledged that later in my post. The unfounded part referred to the mentality from the side of the coaches.
  • I think with Dallas, it's not really about the talent though. It's more about the brand and exposure. Look at coverage maps for what areas tend to support what fandoms and it gets really clear. And also consider that even within their dysfunction, Jerry Jones tends to not be too spontaneous firing coaches (probably because he got burned after Jimmy Johnson). Mike McCarthy has been there one year longer than Sirianni already, and we know about Jason Garrett.
  • I definitely think there's an ability to poison the well if you fire Sirianni and then get impulsive with a third coach that underperforms relative to the tremendous expectation you set by doing so.
  • As for Fangio defenses...sure. I mean personally, I'm not a fan of Fangio schemes, but the league is, so we'd probably have to be clever about who we hire there, which is actually extremely dangerous in this situation. But I wouldn't be against it. Just...where do you pull them from? Quinn isn't available, Martindale is I guess...

I’m so glad literal Hall of Famers are saying the exact things I’ve been saying all year.

Literally zero part of our scheme is based on team work. Poor angles, bad effort, and a complete lack of heart.

I could see Lowie waiting to see if Brian gets hired for the comp picks before making a decision

No way that can happen

Good luck with that.  If the Eagles bring both Sirianni and Johnson back, they will become the 3rd or 4th followed sports team In Philadelphia.  Get ready for a max-exodus of the fanbase.

I called it before and ita starting to look more likely.  Sirianni and Brian Johnson will be back.  Reich will come in as a senior assistant/QB coach/pass game coordinator.   Patricia will be back as DC but with his scheme.

Yeah and if youre and offensive coach and your team is good then there is a chance you constantly  lose your DC.

Maybe get some guys at DC and OC that arent trying to climb a ladder and be a head coach.

Wade philipps, jim johnson types.

Has beens? No thanks. Hard pass.

trying to play it safe like that is a recipe for dallas style mediocrity and failure.

I’m not sure about Patricia but yeah I do think Sirianni and BJ are going to be back. What a complete disaster.

I’m moving back north in a couple of weeks, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about not having to shell out $400+ to watch the Birds anymore.

Well, the Raiders don’t count.  That entire organization has been a dumpster fire for 2 decades.

Barrett Brooks went off on the team last night on PGL too. He talked about the Eagles approach to not just practice but OTA's, mini camp and TC. The Eagles have one of the softest practice schedules around and they don't go over things like tackling and pursuit. They tackle the donut thing but that only goes so far. This team needs to step up their practice habits and that starts with the HC. This team needs a re-boot.

Hypothetical: Sirianni gone and Lurie gets Belichick, who brings J. McDaniels on board as OC. Would you feel confident that that combo would work well here?

Yeah I’m not buying the Sunday ticket next season unless there’s a clean sweep of the coaching staff.

I can see it. Its beyond stupid but I can see it…

Now we're scumbags.

It has to be today or tomorrow but it won’t be. I really don’t see it.

The longer it goes without them leaking it to a reporter, it doesn't bode well for him.

Eagles were embarrassed on prime time TV and his job security is the talk of the nation. They know all this inside NovaCare and could easily put an end to it all if a decision was made.

Even better:

HC: Bill Belichick

OC: Josh McDaniels

DC: Matt Patricia

Yes, I do expect Matt Patricia back if BB is hired.  Which is the only circumstance under which it's ok.

Good with Josh as the OC, he's fine there.

Then F Jeffery and F next season cause it's a lost cause.

I've never wanted something to be wrong so much. I'll be so disinterested in this team if that happens.

I honestly think Howie gets shown the door this week.
