Ok.   Then let's remove the automatic 1st down on a DB defensive holding.  Give the 5 yards, but remove the automatic 1st.

While we're at it, remove the spot foul nature of DPI and make it a 15 yard penalty like college.

I’m fine with the first down removal form holding. Frankly defensive holding and offensive holding should carry the same weight. Not sure why offensive holding is 10 yard penalty and replay the down and defensive holding is 5 yards and automatic 1st down

Can someone explain why the hell we are interviewing Mike Caldwell for DC?

Caldwell, Rivera, Reich... any old Eagles folks, we need to get it done.   Bring them ALL back.

Did we lose our resident Cowboys fan and RAS specialist?

I'm one of the ras specialists,  not a Cowboys fan.

The Eagles have invested $255M in him, so whether we think he's the guy or not -- he is.

I don't think Hurts looked right, even in Week 1.  Whether he had a lower body injury coming out of training camp, or the Eagles made a concerted effort to tell him to minimize his running to remain healthier for playoffs, I don't know.  Clearly he was not doing the things that made him as successful as the previous season.  People were making comments in here that Hurts looked slower even at the start of the season.

Hopefully the Eagles will bring in an OC with a lot of experience coaching mobile QBs.  They should be using his talent to force defenses into no-win situations instead of his mobility being used to escape the pocket and lob the ball out of bounds.

I seem to remember Hurts saying at the beginning of the season that he was going to try to run less. Whether he was told to say that or whether he was trying to avoid missing games due to injury I don't know.

We are not going to like the offseason, are we? 😯

The offseason has been better than the end of the season.

Having a DC you don't have to babysit IS valuable for a head coach. Shanahan, McVay, Reid, etc. all do it.

Is Rivera good enough to leave alone? That's the issue.

Um... he was coaching defense before Sirianni started to PLAY at Mt Union.   He's forgotten more about defense than Sirianni ever knew.   That said, it doesn't mean he's the right guy for the job, but he's much better qualified than Nick.   Come on now.   Sirianni is barely qualified for the offensive side...

What are you going to do if we move on from Hurts after his contract is up because he's still playing like 2023?

Jags defense was basically as bad as ours. They had more INTs and less first downs but pretty much the same everywhere else. Why is this coaching search lol. They’re looking for mediocrity?

I guess it’s week to week. Most of the time it’s the defense for sure. The offense sputtered at key moments as well. A complete disjointed effort on both sides.

Seemed to me they would take turns...

I doubt he's a serious candidate

Trying to figure out who to blame with this team... offense/defense... does it make a difference?

"You suck."
"No, you suck."

Over the whole season sure. This is specifically about the Seattle game. I'm sorry I'm not pinning a loss on a defense that only gave up 20 points when we have this offense that did nothing to win the game at all. Didn't score points, didn't ice the game when given the chance, nothing. Opportunity to get the 1 seed and the defense did their job for 58 minutes, the offense didn't do their at all

I think we forbsure have Reich in place as OC to be announced Wednesday.   Question is of they figure out DC by the time of that press conference.

We've been over this. You're a RAShole, not a "specialist." You're also the poster child for Dunning-Kruger.

Meh.  No need to parse it out game by game.

Only did because it was specifically mentioned as a defensive failure

The eagles are tied to hurts at least until 2026 offseason with how that contract is. Good or bad that’s basically the reality. Hoping he winds up being like 2022 otherwise likely going to be a couple years where we are in purgatory

I hear ya... so very many failures... some defensive, some offensive, some complete collapses.

What is the difference between the Hurts contract and Wentz?  Somehow, Howie got us out of that one.

Too early?

There was still plenty of dead Wentz money they had to eat.
