Great. Good season then.

Stats like this are why I don't buy this idea that the team is "completely driven by analytics." When the analytics show they should be changing and they're not, what analytics are driving every decision?

I've said in the past, but it looked like they tailored their offense to hit the statistics needed to be highly ranked. Offense was 5th EPA/Play, 6th in success %, 6th EPA/Pass, and 6th EPA/Rush. It just didn't produce results on the field in the end.

So did we run a real NFL offense then, or nah?

Wrong

Other players on the team could have scored some of those 40 TDs. Not that impressed he followed Kelce and Dickerson in to the end zone from the 1 yard line so often. Im more concerned about his QB skills and how the coaches will figure out how to make him function in an NFL style offense.

He also got us down to those 1 yard lines, it would be stupid to deviate from the almost automatic td by trying others plays from the 1.

Feels important to what was talked about earlier today

Can't see it happening for at least a year or two.  The DC firing was a given; the OC firing could be looked at as a minor surprise, even though it's the correct move.  I think the Eagles want to see how Hurts performs in a slightly modified offensive scheme with a different voice in his ear.

There were too many wasted plays this season where Hurts escaped to the right just to lob the ball out of bounds.  Those are dead plays that need to be eliminated.  That's the opposing defense dictating to the offense.  The Eagles need to utilize Hurts' mobility to create no-win decisions for the defense.  They know Hurts has a propensity to bail from the pocket -- give him options on those plays.

I'd still be very interested to see Carmichael here and integrate the RBs heavily into the passing game.  With how AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith can stretch the secondary spacing, it would be very interesting to have a Westbrook/Sproles type of receiving RB to complement those two.

44 million is nothing for a team that needs a QB to get them to the next level and Hurts will likely get them that.

It’s a matter of whether the Eagles and Hurts are ready to part ways.  (Doubtful).  Hurts has a no trade clause so the decision is ultimately his.  And if he leaves, say goodbye to AJ Brown as well.

I guess that's how we measure qbs now? Most points scored in a season

He runs the ball, and knew how to use Mariota well in 2022

I don’t see him being traded until earliest would be next off-season and that’s really a stretch imo. And it would have to be because things went really poorly this year and he wants out. And the Eagles are willing to say you know what it’s best for both of us to go in another direction. I have 100% certainty It isn’t happening this off-season.

however, I do think 2024 is going to tell you a lot about him and what the Eagles are planning on doing going forward. Because if he is more like 2023 and 2021, I tend to think the Eagles are going to start thinking about making that move. Because if he’s not 2022 version and we start over with a new HC in 2025 I think there’s a chance by the end of 2025 that the Eagles go in a different direction. What percentage i think kind of depends on what hurts looks like in 2024

I'm not sure why his name isn't being brought up. Better option than Cooter and Reich

Don't get me wrong, Hurts regressed this year and he's only had the one really good season, but it seems to me like we don't really know what we have or not with him. The he's the problem crowd and the he's absolutely not the problem crowds are both out there to me. He needs to improve, but it was obvious the scheme this year was not a fit and we had major issues with play design and such. We don't know how he can improve based on a scheme he likes/fits better and or better coaching.

It seems like the Wentz PTSD is running rampant.

I don’t see hurts being dealt this offseason. Frankly unless he’s just really bad in 2024 it’s unlikely for 2025. But i do think if in 2024 he’s closer to 2023 and 2021 rather than 2022 version then the eagles might begin to start thinking about their next move.

If hurts is traded then we likely are going into a rebuild anyway. Cause you’d have McKee at Qb and the eagles would likely want as many picks as possible to be able to trade up in the draft for a QB or if one becomes available to trade for. So it wouldn’t surprise me they’d deal brown and hurts to maximize their draft capital.
