If you're an idiot, it's a great idea.

Trade Hurts to land a Jj Mcarthy in the 20’s? 🤣🤣🤣

Howie will move on from Nick well before Hurts, this is ludacris

Maybe Hurts requests a trade though.

Don't get me wrong, Hurts regressed this year and he's only had the one really good season, but it seems to me like we don't really know what we have or not with him. The he's the problem crowd and the he's absolutely not the problem crowds are both out there to me. He needs to improve, but it was obvious the scheme this year was not a fit and we had major issues with play design and such. We don't know how he can improve based on a scheme he likes/fits better and or better coaching.

Again, you seem to be in the same boat that I’m in. I’ve been saying this for like four weeks now, 2024 is going to tell us a lot about Jalen hurts, and what the Eagles are going to do for the future.

If in 2024, Jalen hurts is 2022 version of Jalen hurts then everything‘s fine. Because you can win with him at quarterback at the highest level. You can win a Super Bowl with him playing that way. You’re gonna have to go through someone like Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and you are gonna need him playing like 2022. So he has to be able to be great  in order to win a Super Bowl. And even if he does match up, it doesn’t mean you’re always gonna win the Super Bowl. You saw that last year.

Now if he looks more closely to 2023 and 2021 version of himself, then there has to be the discussion that 3 out of the 4 years he’s not been great enough for them to win a Super Bowl (other problems as well but he too wasn’t good enough). It would be 3 of 4 years closer to those versions meanwhile like wentz, that his 2022 is more of the outlier like 2017 was.

To me 2024 is going to tell us a lot about the Eagles future and Jalen hurts future going forward. Unfair or not that’s likely the reality. It’s why they probably should’ve just fired everyone and went with a new coach and seen what he looks like with a new system. Cause I’m guessing if it doesnt look better in 2024 then he’ll get 2025 with the new coach to see. But if he again if same problem persist in 2025 as the previous years outside of 2022 then you essentially wasted 2 years instead of 1

I think with that Howie embrace before the locker room, Howie will do what Hurts wants. Hurts don’t look like a quitter to me.

44 million is nothing for a team that needs a QB to get them to the next level and Hurts will likely get them that.

It’s a matter of whether the Eagles and Hurts are ready to part ways.  (Doubtful).  Hurts has a no trade clause so the decision is ultimately his.  And if he leaves, say goodbye to AJ Brown as well.

AJ might welcome the fresh air. He won't have to constantly chew him out on the sideline. Maybe he threw out his bff charm bracelet QB1 bought him

You are under the assumption they don’t move on from both by the end of 2025. If hurts is similar to 2023 and 2021 version of hurts then they fire sirianni after 2024. If they get a new coach and hurts isn’t close to 2022 version of hurts that year (2025) then chance both sirianni and hurts would be gone by 2026.

I mostly agree...I do think he had stability at OC in 21/22, but then that ended last year. Supposedly the scheme was the same because it's Nick's scheme, but it looked a lot different to me year over year. Now we're going to add a new OC again, I almost feel like we'd have to get some stability (at least a couple years) there again before we see how he can adapt to whatever new scheme or changes we get to the current scheme. I doubt that much patience exists, though.

Did I miss something? Who brought up JJ McCarthy?

Well that, and Hurts has a no trade clause.

Last season ended as a disaster?

I was going to bring this up yesterday. I wouldn't mind him as OC

Why? So we can ignore whoever is RB1, WR1, and TE1 all year?

JJ McCarthy? What are you insinuating

Why would we do that

I know, it's almost like the QB is responsible for leading the offense.

He brought trading Hurts and drafting McCarthy in the 20s. I wasn't sure if someone brought that up and I missed it or if it was just sarcasm

Probably not getting that stability unless things go well in 2024. Frankly i expect more regression so sirianni is likely gone at the end of 2024. So chance the closest stability you’d get would be 2026 season unless things go well this year

i’ll look it this way. Jalen hurts has to look like 2022 this year. Because if he does not and he’s closer to 2023 and 2021 that would be 3 out of 4 years he’s looked like that. I tend to think the eagles would give him 2025 with the new coach. However i also think the eagles would try to be somewhat proactive to try and be able to get themselves in position to get themselves a Qb if he’s not able to turn it around with a new coach. That’s not their style to just hope the position works out.

We need another cheap backup Qb for the factory.

in fairness he’s fit right in. Cause we grossly misused swift in the passing game and goedert. And we kind of ignored brown in portions of games after his 6 game stretch.

Was gonna say this. It’s great if you’re Gainwell, Watkins and Calcantara.
