Why would Howie be fired? He constructed two Super Bowl teams in 6 years. They've made the playoffs 6 of the last 7 years.

He hired these guys. He ignored the defense. Signs players that don't contribute. Gets sentimental with signings. Has a habit of signing early to get the deal before we know the player is actually worthy of the contract

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Howie needs to go back to contracts. He needs to stay the F away from talent evaluation, particularly on defense. He needs to stay away from game planning and from creating offensive and defensive philosophies. He needs to stay away from tinkering with the coaching staff mid-season.

So...the basement?

...Highest winning percentage by a head coach in Eagles history. This is a hell of a statement. I think the bar currently expected by the fanbase couldn't be much higher.

I think the bar being set at a place where you aren't being constantly called out by every ex-NFL player, analyst, etc. for that garbage fest we were treated to last night in the playoffs would be an appropriate level.   That was epic level embarrassment.  Complete systemic failure from stem to stern.

Remember when they said after the Super Bowl that this was the new norm? Those were the days.

I’ve had a lot of bad happen here (I lost my mom here, my dad passed while I was visiting here, and my brother and dog died here). It’s time I moved back home.

Also, you should be happy for me. We’re not supposed to live in Florida forever. The goal is to always escape. 😂

Sorry to hear man. That's awful.

Best of luck to wherever you go.

Meh.  There were Super Bowl expectations during most of the Reid era and a small % the fanbase wanted him gone for years but he usually fielded competitive teams - rarely regressed - so the vast majority of the fanbase supported Reid.

At this point,  close to 80% of the fanbase want Sirianni gone.  Huge difference.

Something about him - just haven’t liked his play all year.

I mean he is a rookie UDFA thrust into a role - shouldn’t expect much. But he played waaaaaaaay too many snaps this year for a supposed SB contender.

I think some of that was out of necessity due to injury

Hes had some good moments this year but that play was definitely not one of them.

Having says its not like he was the only guy on D disinterested in tackling.

Byard slay bradberry maddox all atrocious amd contact adverse.

Even the LBs were just going through the motions

The Play Milton had before his sack where he stood the RB up a yard short of the 1st down that was all him, no one came flying into help him, cunningham was right there and he just stood there taking a pic for his gram, it was unbelievable how bad the back 7 was

The DL actually played pretty well, but the 7 other guys all looked like deion sanders out there with out the coverage skills

Last 7 weeks of the season was easily the worst eagles defense ive ever seen.

Ive been watching since 90 so there might be some old timers that have seen worse but I havent

Even the last year of the dream team that was a train wreck had more heart and want to on D.

This D just quit about 7 weeks ago ...☹️

The only way bringing Nick back is if he is able to hire 2 experienced coordinators that are in no immediate danger of being hired as head coaches.  Obviously, Reich fits that bill as OC.  Fine with having BJ back at Qb coach.  On the defense, you are looking at guys like Rivera and Martindale.

Between Hurts not specifically endorsing Nick last night, to no leaks from NovaCare putting this speculation to rest -- it's clearly being discussed.

Please take a moment and feel bad for me. I won this auction and plan on taking my dad for his 80th birthday. They said it would be this offseason (auction was right before kickoff of the season). I may be screwed.

Overall or offense?

I'm genuinely excited for the Julian era. I imagine it will be like Collin Ferrell's character in Horrible Bosses.

I greatly appreciate that, man. Thank you.

I’m not sure about the DL talent. Reddick and Carter are really good. Cox and BG are old. The rest are meh,

Sweat is a solid DE, like many players under this horrid coaching he regressed.  Milton Williams is a solid DT for depth and rotation.  Ojomo is decent for being low on the depth chart.

The problems with this D line are they invested in DT with 3 DTs who were 1st round picks.  They have 1.5 Defensive Ends: Sweat and part-time BG.  Reddick is a pass rush specialist not a DE.  Same with Nolan Smith.  Offensive lines all year just double teamed Carter or Cox and focused on Reddick and no one else did anything.

The LBs are garbage.  Add 2 competent LBs and a full-time starting DE opposite Sweat and that makes a big impact.  And a better DC.

He's an imperfect GM. No GM gets them all right. He gets more right than most. I actually think it's gotten to the point where Howie's wins are so good that any time he has the slightest failure people drastically overweight them. It's hard to pay QBs big money and construct a roster without flaws. Now he has the chance to fix it. He's proven he can in the past multiple times over.

Yeah there’s a lot of solid and depth guys there but not a lot of fire power.

Not "they."  Doug Pederson said that.

Then they fired him 3 years later.

This team is "The Rise of Skywalker" in the franchise.

In terms of heart, desire to win and maximizing their potential, the 2017 team - in a heartbeat.

In terms of raw talent that never came close to reaching its peak - this year, imo.

I mean 80% of the fanbase wanting the most winning coach in franchise history gone for not meeting expectations kind of says a lot more about the fanbase than the organization, don't you think?

To me it says they want a Kyle Shanahan. And let's be honest, our chances of getting a Kyle Shanahan are....very very very low.

So THAT is the new normal.  I get it now.

You think Alshon, Agholor, and Ertz are better than Brown, Smith, and Goedert? Interesting

Lol I'm the opposite. That's fine. I know people won't agree about Howie
