A lot of these coaching interviews are agent-driven.

Cliff's agent isĀ Erik Burkhardt. He represents Kyler, Ronnie Stanley, Bradley Chubb, etc. Also represents future free agents at linebacker like...Jordyn Brooksl

So by that notion it was also his last year when Steichen called the plays and the offense was damn near unstoppable. Sirianni should have been fired too for losing the locker room but anyone feeling bad for these coordinators who were horrible at their jobs and making them out to be martyrs are clueless. Yes, that's you homie.

I don't think anyone feels bad about the coordinators. Desai probably got the bad end of the stick with the horrid personnel but I hate the Fangio scheme so good riddance. For me Siri is just as sus when it comes to what happened to the offense. He's supposed to be an offensive mind so he's culpable as well IMO. You don't let a season go down the drain letting a first time OC have free reign. So either you're an idiot for letting the rookie OC F up a season or Siri had his hand in the cookie jar and he helped F up the season. Either one is bad from a HC perspective. I just happen to believe that it was more of the later. Likely a combination of both though.

I know sheil on their podcast has said that lurie loves John harbaugh so makes me wonder if he would want a coach from that tree to be OCĀ

Might be a good hire, whoever is responsible for the progress in Baltimore deserves praise. Speaking of which, is anyone else surprised by the lines this weekend? I feel like they should be flipped, with the Ravens being a 7pt favorite and the Niners being a 4pt favorite instead.

Stylistic preferences aside, they're definitely maximizing the output from their inputs. Talent wise, they're not working with as much as any other top-5 offense.

the general awfulness of the Eagles fans.Ā Ā  I really don't want to keep a compartment of my brain dedicated to "bad things the Eagles fans do"Ā  but it includes booing and chanting "run the ball" when the offense was on the field.Ā Ā  Slay mentioned how not playing at home was a good thing,Ā  to avoid bad Eagles fans.Ā Ā

With the crap product they put on the field the last half of the year every fan not only had a right, but an obligation, to boo them. Just like we all should boo every one of your posts. Don’t like us fans, there’s an easy solution…make like a tree and get out of here.Ā

Yeah i brought up the lines the other day saying the same thing. Especially if deebo is limited or out of the game. Kind of feel like the ravens chiefs game is gonna be 27-20 type of game and niners lions is likely something like 26-23. A couple interesting facts going into the game. Mahomes is 9-1-1 vs. the spread as an underdog and 8-3 straight up. Goff’s numbers home and away this year: at home 70%, 19 tds, 6 ints and 107 Qb rating. On road 65%, 11 tds, 6ints and 89 Qb rating. Lions defense giving up 29.3 ppg in their last 6 road games. Last 5 games (2x lions faced mullens) given up 345+ passing yards.Ā

I wonder if any of the Philly media will grow a set and ask Howie about the plan for LB/S this season and how it failed so spectacularly? Both in FA, to the botch trade for Byard, and through the historial de-prioritisation of those positions vs DL and OL.Ā

And how the DE position was so poor this season.

You think the Philly media is scared to ask questions like that?

His answer is in your post, so I doubt we’d hear anything groundbreaking. Ā He’ll just say something like this franchise will always prioritize the line of scrimmage, there’s a salary cap, blah, blah. Ā
Ā

He’s probably already blaming much of the defense’s back 7 failure on the demise of the pass rush from a year ago. Ā Obviously some of the blame does go there, but I’d be curious to know how much of it in Howie’s mind

Why do people engage with an obvious troll? Why even waste time reading their posts?

Actually, yes I do.Ā  They'll spend time on Desai, Johnson, Hurts, etc.Ā  Can't see anyone hammering the GM on the core issues with the roster.

Agree.Ā  It's more to poke at a blind spot and show if the FO realise their philosophies are one of the RCAs for this season, or if they do as they say. Blah, blah, lines, blah, blah

Mclane has asked questions like that in the past. He isn’t afraid of doing it. Most hate mclane cause he comes off as a dbag and is always the reporter that leaks the news when things aren’t going well for the eaglesĀ

What time is this shindig today?

Send the jet to go pick up Kingsbury.

Howie and Lincoln Riley are boys and he got a lot out of Hurts at Oklahoma. I'm guessing this is a Howie move and it is as a result of that relationship.

Go ahead and explain it for me.Ā  My point is if LOWIE wants to call plays then get on the sideline and call them.

How would they (Lowie) deflect blame for their eff-ups if they did that? Always have a fall guy.

Says the guy who wants to run it back with BJ…. Who by the way hasn’t won anything in 13 years of coaching going by your standards.Ā

When did i say i want to run it back with him? Ā I said I’d rather. Ā I wanted the whole staff gone TBH. Ā Both are bottom of the barrel options IMO.

Do we know when the press conference starts today?

Yeah, the Philly media isn’t at all scared to ask tough questions. IMO, the issue is more the tone and verbiage they use to ask tough questions.Ā

More Hurts stuffĀ  -Ā Ā Apparently Covey sees Hurts as unapproachabble.Ā

This is old news. Soap opera BS. Covey was intimidated by Hurts' aura lol. Sounds like a him problem.

I’d retain Singleton dependent on if he is the one that makes the call on RB rotation. I know Duce used to, but I don’t recall anything after him. Based on the comment it feels like Sirianni determines it. Sanders and Swift had career years. Gainwell has turned into a playable RB2. Penny sucked but I put the blame on that to Howie plus him just being washed.Ā

Swift did have a career year, and still managed to be misused at times.Ā Ā

Ā

But, yes... Howie deserves significant blame for the RB personnel.  Running it back continually with Boston Scott is a joke.   And the Rashad Penny move was about as bad as a free agent move can be.  Fortunately, it wasn't a long term deal, but he literally provided nothing to this team, and yet was clearly a priority free agent... in a year where there were a number of RBs available for a long time that actually had way more to offer than Penny.  And... imagine if Detroit hadn't been able to draft Gibbs and didn't make Swift available.   😬    How horrific would this backfield have been?
