Covey is telling lies now because he's afraid of what Hurts might do to him if he found out the truth about what Covey said.

One of these days, I'm gonna learn to keep reading before posting

damn it, Joe!

Today’s press conference is going to be a crap show. These press conferences they have when things are going not great always are. You can script how it’s going to go.

Howie will take full responsibility for everything that happened, say he needs to do a better job with the roster. They will act like Sirianni’s job was never remotely in question. They will dodge questions about the coaching staff and say vague stuff about them doing a great job but they prefer a new vision. There won’t be any direct answers for anything.

They’re always exactly as annoying as you expect going into them. And you’ll be able to cut the tension in there with a knife.

Because being wrong and making up crap is how you get views.

This is every team's end of year press conference.

Dan Sileo is a FN hack and Brooks is a moron who should thank God every morning that he has the job he does. In other news, water is wet.

It's strange.  Last year, everyone was praising Jalen's "intangibles", leadership qualities, etc.  This year, seems like we want to tear him down as 'stoic' and 'unapproachable'.

On the list of things needing change to improve the team, Hurts’ personality isn’t even on it.

Does he need to improve on some things as a player?  Hell yeah.  But the personality/leadership talk is just BS stuff imo.  It’s just frustration and people looking for anything to complain about….or to fit something into a preconceived opinion.

Not really

Sirianni will just have Covey killed by making him block on a WR screen next season.

Biggest piece of crap has me blocked on Twitter from last year

That's the difference between winning and losing. When you're the leader of a team who played subpar football and ended the season in embarrassing fashion your leadership is looked at in a different light.

Same as sirianni, most people either enjoyed or were willing to overlook his buffoonery last year cause they were great. This year he still acted like a clown but it seemed to irk more people, likely because they were playing like crap while he was doing it.

I wonder if any of the Philly media will grow a set and ask Howie about the plan for LB/S this season and how it failed so spectacularly? Both in FA, to the botch trade for Byard, and through the historial de-prioritisation of those positions vs DL and OL.

And how the DE position was so poor this season.

Have you seen many press conferences? They ask the most antagonizing questions. They aren't afraid to ask anything. They criticize the coach and a lot of times aren't professional in their questions. Some of them act like the average fan who got a press pass. They word it somewhat professionally but will be very critical. I wouldn't worry about the Philly beat writers needing to "grow a set."

Howie is the James Bradberry of GMs.

Ding ding ding we have a winner! Great point.

To be honest, I've always thought Hurts' leadership was overrated by fans, even last season, and I've never found his demeanor to be particularly inspriing on the sidelines or off the field . I also think fans blow the "intangibles" stuff way out of proportion and get overly fixated on stuff like "leadership" that doesn't really make all that much of a difference compared to far more critical factors.

you know what I’m looking for in this press conference, the Eagles to say something stupid like quarterback factory, emotional intelligence or gold standard. They haven’t said something like that in a while. So I’m guessing they’re going to say something like that today.

This season they've said "the standard" a lot. They dropped the gold.

Where the gold at?

The media haven’t asked one tough question all season. They’re not going to do anything but lob softballs to stay in good graces of the organization.

Yes, they have.

It's because of all the hit pieces with Wentz

If those were the only candidates I would say Joe Brady, Kingsbury, and Kubiak would be my preferences and wouldn't be upset with Bevell, Jerrod Johnson or Arthur Smith.  I still think Carmichael is worth a conversation as well.

Definite "No" to McDaniels and Bieniemy

Kliff Kingsbury is a no for me.

Just now realizing Carmichael was fired. Hell yes, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

But BG said Hurts is amazing once, so everyone loves him!

You mean, basically all his teammates say he's a good leader? And the click bait media are spreading gossip and rumors and you guys fall for it every time?

Do you walk this back now that Covey himself has set this straight?

Reporters twisting words and framing a narrative to create drama for clicks and views?

notsurprisedkirk.jpg

And fans believe it every time.

Even though Covey said this, the next year or so fans will still repeat these lies and narratives because of bias.

If Joe Brady doesn't get the full-time Bills job, he would be great to bring in at some capacity.
