  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

It's strange.  Last year, everyone was praising Jalen's "intangibles", leadership qualities, etc.  This year, seems like we want to tear him down as 'stoic' and 'unapproachable'.

When they're winning they praise him for being all business. He looks focused on the sidelines even after a win, he's a leader and winner who doesn't settle for regular season wins, he's got his eyes on a championship!

When they're losing it's he needs to loosen up and have fun.  Well, did anyone look like they were having fun in that horrible collapse?

Dan Sileo is a FN hack and Brooks is a moron who should thank God every morning that he has the job he does. In other news, water is wet.

i wish post game crew stop hiring losers and start hiring guys that know what winning is and start questioning the coaches and not crying about the qb, this crap is getting old.

Don't listen if you don't like it.

Deep? Not many, but we know the Eagles are one of the least transparent teams in the league. Howie says as much.

Interesting way to look at the 2023 QBs.

I should add that this team has some serious questions that need answered. This isn’t the run of the mill season ending press conference. Our HC dangled in the wind. We had a disastrous DC situation. We are firing our OC. The GM has once again bungled a Super Bowl roster.

If we don’t get some kind of forthright answers, then that’s some BS.

Fans flip flop on what they want and expect out of press conferences throughout the season just like they flip flop on opinions about how players should behave.

Siri at times this season has said too much. For example he said the forced throw to AJ Brown he was hoping for a DPI call. Fans said he should just give coach speak and not say anything. He's too emotional, he needs to just give pat answers like every other coach.

Then when they're losing, they say they want clear direct answers and accountability. They complain about coach speak and giving pat answers.

Organizations don't give fodder to the media - at least, they shouldn't. Every company has public facing comments that are crafted in meetings with communication, marketing, legal, etc. Every sports team has a PR department and media guys. Siri this year has often looked over at their media guy (I believe he would say "Brian" but I don't recall) to ask if it was ok to answer a question a certain way, or share information.

Fans should not get their hopes up about some satisfying press conference that's going to heal their anger and make them feel better about the team. They're going to make basic statements like that have the last 7 weeks about falling short, not meeting the standard, have to do a better job, etc. They're not going to go on some emotional rant and flip tables over and "show emotion" to satisfy some mouth breathing fans who want blood.

They're going to talk about what they tried to do, how it didn't work out, and how they are hopeful in their plans to fix it. They will point to positives like young guys developing, they might talk about making the playoffs. They will take accountability, that "it starts with me" type stuff and say it's not acceptable and they have to do better.

Fans will argue and complain that they weren't pissed off enough, or didn't get specific enough, that they didn't throw anyone under the bus or reveal all the private inner workings of their staff and decisions. No organization does that, nor should they. That's not how professional people handle things.

What matters is what actions they take. Who they hire for coaching staff. Free agency and draft decisions. These things will be more telling about what they plan to do.

Yeah, nothing pisses me off more than seeing a team acting like they don't give a s*** when they are losing.

That's your 2023 Eagles.

Someone will ask about Nick being on the hot seat, and they'll probably say that wasn't true. They believe in Nick, believe in the great group of guys we have here. Howie will say what he always says, that they're always looking for ways to improve the team and they're looking at some potential coaches to bring in and help Nick get us back to the Super Bowl, something along those lines.

They will make statements to take accountability, but they won't be emotional and giving fans something to satisfy their anger and frustration. Fans will complain and argue either way (me included, the answers often aren't satisfying enough). What we have to realize is any organization has crafted messages with the marketing team and they know how Philly media and fans take things. This isn't their first rough situation in the franchise. What matters is what they do. Who do they hire, what is their philosophy, do they make real changes, what players do they bring in? Do they sign a top free agent LB to show their commitment? Do they change any draft philosophy?

You mean, basically all his teammates say he's a good leader? And the click bait media are spreading gossip and rumors and you guys fall for it every time?

Do you walk this back now that Covey himself has set this straight?

Reporters twisting words and framing a narrative to create drama for clicks and views?

notsurprisedkirk.jpg

And fans believe it every time.

Even though Covey said this, the next year or so fans will still repeat these lies and narratives because of bias.

Dan sileo is not a reporter. Neither is brooks. they twisted it. If you read the story it clearly says what covey meant. Dan and Barrett Brooks are both idiots and not "reporters”. The reporter who got the quote called them out for it.

True.

Some of our fans believe every negative thing they read when it's confirmation bias whether it's an unknown Twitter account, some random guy with a YouTube video or even another poster here saying they "heard" something. But when the coaches and players say things directly, they don't believe them.

They just pissed me off.  Didn't matter what was going on the sideline.

I don’t remember that response from fans. Everyone was calling him a dope

100%. I don’t know how Dan sileo got his job because for years all he would do was put out fake rumors that were create a stir. But everybody knew it was BS. Now all the sudden he has a show.

frankly, I think Jeff mclane is a dbag personality. And he tends to be more negative than most of the reporters. But the one thing I give Jeff McLean credit for it he will go to a press conference and ask you a question that you don’t like. And most of the time he’ll get crap for it from either the person answering or from the fan base. but he’ll ask it. He asked Cox about sirianni and took the backlash from fletcher

yhgWWd2.jpg

If the Philly media is smart they'd flat out ask Howie if he forced Sirianni to demote Desai. Would put them in a difficult spot because if Howie denies it publicly when he actually did force it, Sirianni is going to probably be annoyed that he essentially is throwing Sirianni under the bus. If Howie dodges the question, you'll have your answer.

If they ask that question to Sirianni, and ask him if he was forced to demote Desai he's just going to say no.

That question is much spicier if it's asked to Howie.

This is every team's end of year press conference.

Every team fires their coordinators, but not the head coach, and has questions about what went wrong during a monumental collapse during the final 7 weeks of the season?  🤔  This seems a little different from literally every other team, including the ones that fired their HC during the year, or after the season.

Everyone has to take a shot each time Nick says "That's on me" during this PC.

Some afc team needs to sign Sanchez as a backup next year

More smoke that the speculation about Carter Hart is legit.

Every team has unique issues to them. Sometimes it's the coach, sometimes it's the GM, sometimes it's the QB, etc. Most don't say anything of substance.

The Eagles had Andy Reid for years. He said nothing during press conferences. Judge the team by their actions, not their words.

It's all about the competitive advantage.   We don't want our opponents for next year to have one extra minute than necessary to prepare for our matchup.
