The Eagles had Andy Reid for years. He said nothing during press conferences. Judge the team by their actions, not their words.

I agree.  This team has issues with its coach, its GM and its QB.

Some afc team needs to sign Sanchez as a backup next year

He was such a stud that he ended his career with the R-words (who finished the season 7-9)  benching him at halftime for Josh Johnson vs the NY Giants (who finished 5-11)

I should add that this team has some serious questions that need answered. This isn’t the run of the mill season ending press conference. Our HC dangled in the wind. We had a disastrous DC situation. We are firing our OC. The GM has once again bungled a Super Bowl roster.

If we don’t get some kind of forthright answers, then that’s some BS.

Get your wading boots ready.   The BS will be deep and flowing freely.

Howie's FA signings this year were mostly junk bonds; he has to take accountability for that.  The roster wasn't set up nearly well enough on the back 7 and he has to own that as well.

The team zigged when it should have zagged after the Niners game.  Nick should have taken over offensive play calling; instead they gave Patricia defensive play calling.  "That's on me" Nick will say.

Other than that, I'd prefer the PC focuses less on blaming what went wrong and more on what the plan is to get it right moving forward.  I'd like to know what the structure of the coaching staff will be and whether Howie is going to screw that structure up by bringing in 'senior assistants'

They just pissed me off.  Didn't matter what was going on the sideline.

Correct.  The product on the field was enough to create the animosity.  None of the rest of it matters.   Fix the on the field stuff.

If the Philly media is smart they'd flat out ask Howie if he forced Sirianni to demote Desai. Would put them in a difficult spot because if Howie denies it publicly when he actually did force it, Sirianni is going to probably be annoyed that he essentially is throwing Sirianni under the bus. If Howie dodges the question, you'll have your answer.

If they ask that question to Sirianni, and ask him if he was forced to demote Desai he's just going to say no.

That question is much spicier if it's asked to Howie.

If there’s a reporter that’s gonna do it, it’ll be mclane. Cause he’s done crap like that in the past and doesn’t care about what backlash he gets. Would’ve said Les Bowen at the end of his tenure. He really stopped caring at that point

I fully expect from this press conference someone is going to say well there’s a lot of teams in this league that would love to be where we are with the talent we have. We are golden standard but we need to get ourselves to the next level of platinum standard

Top 10 GM and top 10 QB is a good place to start. No, they're not perfect by any stretch.

But we might legitimately have a bottom 5 coaching staff right now.

The Chargers have been "close" with Harbaugh for a week and Atlanta has been "close" with Belichick for a week and neither have been hired yet. Wondering if there's more going on here than being reported.

Just a activity to take up time right now in the off-season but what quarterback right now would you take over Jalen hurts?

That's your 2023 Eagles.

Everyone has to take a shot each time Nick says "That's on me" during this PC.

"The standard"

"As coaches it's our job to put guys in position to make plays."

Wonder if we'll get a flower analogy.

Out of curiosity, who should be held responsible for the mess that the coaching staff is?   Is not that part of the GM's purview?   If not him, then who?

Roseman just seems to be the Teflon Don.   He gets credit for the good moves, but the bad moves were just bad luck.   He gets credit for rebuilding the roster to get to the Super Bowl, but doesn't get held responsible when that roster crumbles immediately after.  He gets credit for finding a good coach... until that coach crumbles.   Then its just bad luck for Howie.  He gets credit for great cap management... until the cap issues catch up and he couldn't afford to retain the players that he let walk, and tried to replace with dollar store display items.

Howie is a top 10 GM in some aspects... and a bottom 10 GM in others.

Interesting question but it needs more focus. Do you mean for a must-win game, for a season, or for the long term?

Just putting this out into the ether, but my prediction is we trade a mid-round pick for Dameon Pierce. He doesn’t fit the Texans’ scheme, and we could certainly use that type of runner.

I like the idea of again looking to trade for a young back, especially if Swift isn't brought back.

I'd also look in to Isaiah Spiller, AJ Dillon, Tyler Allgeier and even Miles Sanders.

At this moment in time, long term.  Over Jalen Hurts:

Definitely -- Mahomes, Burrow

Likely -- Allen

Perhaps -- Tua, Herbert, Stroud, Love

So, I guess my answer is somewhere between 3 and 7 who I would take over Hurts.  This season I'd have ranked his overall play somewhere between 12-15, but I still feel he's quite capable of being a top 8 QB in the league -- and I always measure top 8 out of 32 to be elite.  (Top quartile)

It's a harder question to answer because we have an incompetent coaching staff. But for me (and I'll include the obvious mahomes)

Mahomes

Burrow

Allen

Tua

Herbert

Lamar

Too early for me to say Stroud or Love even though they played well this year.

I find that particularly amusing because I've successfully persuaded (coerced) my wife into agreeing to adopt a couple of cats into our home again.  We're going on Friday night for a "meet and greet".

Should probably keep the status quo of ignoring anything Dan Sileo or Barrett Brooks say, ever.
