I completely get the response that it’s a joke Sirianni is still here because he’s been neutered and was too weak to stand up for his guys.

I choose to believe he sees that things weren’t working as is and was smart enough to see that and to take a step back and focus on being a culture setter and being better with game day decision making.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Frankly, I figured howie would say what he did at linebacker. Cause I don’t think he’s going to go out there and just be like yeah they were all terrible.Dean is a bust. Cunningham was OK but he’s 32 years old and you can’t rely on him every week.

Now if Sirianni is going to succeed in this role, he needs to be really good at game day decision making (clock usage, fourth down aggressiveness, etc) and hiring the right coaches. Harbaugh has done well in this regard. We’ll see how Campbell does with replacing Ben Johnson.

Campbell and Harbaugh are both CEOs and in the final 4. We can still win that way.

But that means that Nick has nail both coordinator spots. Good luck!

It's possible. But if you're Lurie wouldn't you want more than that as a head coach?

It's like buying a smart TV because you're excited about all the fancy features it comes with and find out after you buy it that none of the features work and you can only use it to watch live TV and instead of getting rid of the TV and getting a new one that has the features you want you just go "Oh well, it works fine for live TV so I'll just stick with it."

Have some self respect and go out and get yourself an upgrade.

I wasn’t expecting the OC to basically be given the offense and Nick to be turned into a cheerleader

lol at Howie trying to fix answers that Nick gave

Well, he's already been pretty bad at game day decision making. Not sure why it would change at all.

Your next DC.

WE GOT FANGIO

Called Fangio as the DC.  Just expected it to come through a trade.

How exactly would things be different if we could take a time machine to the end of the Buffalo game?

Please no more Fangio scheme.

Except for the challenges this year.  He's 0 for.

They wanted a veteran DC who won't be poached for HC jobs. Fangio fits the bill, and if it came down to him or Rivera, I would go with Vic.

I agree.  This team has issues with its coach, its GM and its QB.

Agreed.   The GM brought both the QB and the HC in... so in all reality... we have a huge issue with Howie.

With a $250 M problem at QB and a HC problem that isn't getting fixed this year.   So we will waste the prime of AJ Brown and D Smiths careers.... whilest we fumble about

Vic Fangio with Mike Caldwell coaching LBs would be fine by me.

Excellent.   I love a soft defense.  Let's keep it rolling.

Everyone has their own point of view, but when I read what you just wrote it points me to a leadership issue among the players, more than a coaching issue.  Now, we both know it’s both — and the GM/owner can get rid of coordinators easier then getting rid of players with fat contracts.

When I say players, I believe in Kelce, Graham, Cox, Lane as long term guys whose motivation is beyond question.  My concern is the younger guys who are supposed to be taking over the locker room soon — AJ Brown, Hurts, Smith, Carter, Davis, Mailata, etc.  Are these guys up to the challenge of keeping a locker room together?  I’m still pissed at AJ Brown because from where I’m standing it looked to me like he quit.

Too many mercenaries chasing a ring I think played into it. Once they lost belief - what’s there to play for when you don’t think you are getting to the SB. Half our back seven was that. All three LBs plus Byard and Roby. Then you have a talent issue as well to compound that.

Secondly and to a much lesser extent I wonder if we have overcorrected too much to Bama and Georgia guys. Those guys don’t lose in college and we didn’t really lose much last year so they haven’t faced this sort of adversity and need to learn how to lose, get back up and respond.

That would be an amazing combo. Would also take Ron on the staff as a defensive positional coach / assistant HC in any capacity.

Been seeing some rumblings from people who cover the Dolphins that Fangio could get fired. Mike McDaniel was asked about Fangio I think back on Monday and if Fangio's job was safe and he dodged the question. And I've seen some other guys say it's no lock he stays. Apparently it's not entirely performance related, there's some clashing going on between him and the front office.

The funny thing is if he does become available no one will want him this time around because everyone's sick of the Fangio defense.

Turns out the rumblings were legit.

We need to get some F’ing LB’s first to be fair.
