Offense and Offensive Coordinator
    • Nick said "fresh ideas" and "new ideas" a lot. Repeated that the offense got stale.
    • Nick this season said the offense is his offense. Today: "our scheme" and "our offense" but repeatedly said he's hiring an OC from the outside to bring in new ideas, call the plays and run the offense. Clearly Nick doesn’t' have an offense, he expects the OC to bring an offensive plan which we knew, but this is opposite of what he said all season.
    • Reporter: your offense, Shane's offense, Brian's offense…are there outside influences changing things now? Nick: important to bring in ideas from the outside who is not part of this family of coaches. Will study other offenses, if that means going to colleges to study what they're doing, going through our old offense to see what worked. This will be "our offense" not Nick's offense or the Coordinator's offense.

Head Coach:
    • If the OC and DC are in charge of their units, what is your job? Nick: "Head Coach." More of what it's been currently. May sit in on more meetings, but my job is building culture, leading the entire team, reinforcing the core values. "Diving into that, having a culture" and connecting with the players.
    • Did you have to sell yourself to the players in your meetings? Nick: it was normal our usual end of year meetings. But Nick admits he is thinking he has to "reprove" himself, that this young coach can lead the organization.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Eagles have 20 million in cap space. Eagles will restructure Reddick and save 11M. They will cut Byard and save 13M.

44 million in cap space this year.

Bradberry and Slay could be cut post june 1st. Maybe designated to be. No cap savings but let’s move on. This is 14M in dead cap but thats already factored into available cap space.

If kelce, graham, and cox all retire post june 1st it saves us 4.5M

Howie and roster, especially defense:

• To Howie, thoughts on roster construction compared to teams still playing in the playoffs? Howie: "we've always had our own spin on roster building." You want to be ahead of the curve, not copy others.
• After SB Howie: knew players would be leaving and the schedule would be hard. Focused on building the offense.
• To Howie: investment on D line didn't perform. Howie: preconceived notion that they don't care about linebackers. The 2 Super Bowls they won they had good linebacker play. (Notice the LBs left after the SB and this year's group sucked. Hopefully that means Howie knows he needs to upgrade LB). But then he said he believes in Nakobe Dean, Cunningham had a good year.

It also feels like Fangio has mostly been figured out around the league how to attack it. So while we may be getting the best version of it, you have to wonder if it will be enough in 2024.

Even that dummy Brian Johnson was able to put up 31 points. AJ Brown and Goedert both had their second highest yardage game of the season against Miami.

Yeah i just worry about size. They are small and reddick isnt large

Patrick Queen is 1 inch taller and 2 lbs lighter.

Devin White is 1 inch taller and 7 lbs heavier.

Fred Warner is 4 inches taller at 6’3 and 229 lbs.

Roquan Smith is 2 inches taller and 5 lbs heavier.

I think a lot of y’all think it’s 2004 and LBers are just walking around at 250 everywhere.

Come on, put a positive spin on it. "Fangio was responsible for the Eagles best offensive output this season!"

We can't do that much change, unfortunately. Slay was fine, he should stay for one more season. Already going to need 2-4 LBs, 2-3 S, 3rd WR and whatever else to help us get through. Wouldn't be opposed to any of those 3 linemen coming back either, they still have something in a rotational role.

Right, what kind of answer was that?  May attend defensive meetings? He should have been more involved in defensive meetings this year with that collapse.

I just hate how predictable they always seem to be. It always comes off as they don't have any new ideas on how to improve besides just doing what you already do, just better, which makes sense since that's Sirianni's mantra.

The hire is what it is. I just hope they don't think they can keep/add the dollar store players and expect Fangio to wave a magic wand to make it work.

I agree, but aside from Minter I don't think there was that "different flavor" coach. Rivera would not have been the least bit exciting. Doesn't mean he would've been bad, but he would've fallen under the retread category. Brandon Staley maybe had some of that, but he was so awful with the Chargers, not sure anyone would've been excited by that and doesn't have a lengthy track record of success. Mike Caldwell... ugh. The Georgia guys? Would've fallen under your gripe. The Eagles just going all in on everything Georgia.

Fangio feels familiar, but at least he's proven to be really good.

Of course we can all trash this move a year from now if he's awful and someone hires Ron Rivera and he improves a bottom defense to top 5.

He needs to ask permission from Howie first.

I expect a Devonta Smith extension.

3rd WR: Hollywood Brown

Corner: Jaylon Johnson, maybe Kyle Fuller, let Ringo play

Safety: Winfield

Linebacker: draft/devin white/queen/brooks

We have enough money to rebuild the defense. We need the younger guys on defense (smith, carter, davis, dean, ringo) to contribute.

He was busy making some posters for the locker room highlighting the core values.

Dickerson will get an extension as well. I think they roll with Ringo opposite of Slay. Can't see the Bucs letting White walk. They'll franchise him. He could be a trade candidate but the price might be too high. Queen is a obvious signing imo. They might go cheap on another LB and target another in the draft...2nd rd?

I figure they would be. Just saying if they do, it saves us a little money.

Graham will come cheap. Cox better not get another 1 year 12 mil. I'll be ok with half that

Agree on Dickerson.

I’d rather go after Jaylon Johnson and let Slay go. We don’t have to decide that until we see what happens in free agency.

I think we should target Trotter Jr. for sure. I’m sure I will have more ideas for the draft down the road.

Bradberry is more then likely the guy that goes. I think they keep Slay for another year. 100 percent agree on Trotter

"We are excited not only for the coach you are, but the coach you will become."

The coach he became:

Amazon.com: Bobby Peach Boy Marionette String Puppet : Toys & Games

I didn’t think the press conference was nearly as bad as Twitter made it out to be now that I just watched it. I trust Howie he is a top 4-5 GM he took control of the room easily.

I much prefer Edge Cooper or Cedric Gray to Trotter. We need a 3 down LB who can thump and cover. Trotter is nothing but a big hitter and nostalgia.
