It also feels like Fangio has mostly been figured out around the league how to attack it. So while we may be getting the best version of it, you have to wonder if it will be enough in 2024.

Even that dummy Brian Johnson was able to put up 31 points. AJ Brown and Goedert both had their second highest yardage game of the season against Miami.

I’m far from excited by the Fangio system, but perhaps he has a stable of defensive assistants that can develop talent and the players will at least know their assignments… it’s like looking up from rock bottom.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I much prefer Edge Cooper or Cedric Gray to Trotter. We need a 3 down LB who can thump and cover. Trotter is nothing but a big hitter and nostalgia.

Cooper is a stud

I'm excited for the potential to have a mediocre defense as long as the offense can preform to its potential.

I expect a Devonta Smith extension.

3rd WR: Hollywood Brown

Corner: Jaylon Johnson, maybe Kyle Fuller, let Ringo play

Safety: Winfield

Linebacker: draft/devin white/queen/brooks

We have enough money to rebuild the defense. We need the younger guys on defense (smith, carter, davis, dean, ringo) to contribute.

Jaylon Johnson is gonna want 20 a year and Winfield won't be far behind.

Sirianni gives me zero confidence for the future. Just not impressive. It's shocking that the FO can keep trotting that dope out in front of people with a straight face.

Can’t any argument against Fangio be the same for a Rivera? So who outside those 2 is the "exciting” pick?

Johnson is most likely a tag and trade as well. These guys won't be walking away for free

That was essentially the busted expectation from this past season. Yup.

I wonder how much longer until the OC is figured out.  All the teams that fired coaches taking so long to hire coaches is a bit of a benefit to the Eagles right now.  I guess it isn't going to be Frank Reich like I thought it would be if it hasn't been announced yet unless he's like a Plan B or C if they have their eyes set on someone with new ideas.  Maybe they can take a look at someone on Andy's offensive staff like Todd Pinkston.

I am not on this Fangio wagon man Geezus. I couldn't wait to get away from this god forsaken defense now we have the actually king of it. I'm blown away

Eagles have 20 million in cap space. Eagles will restructure Reddick and save 11M. They will cut Byard and save 13M.

44 million in cap space this year.

Bradberry and Slay could be cut post june 1st. Maybe designated to be. No cap savings but let’s move on. This is 14M in dead cap but thats already factored into available cap space.

If kelce, graham, and cox all retire post june 1st it saves us 4.5M

I don't think Reddick is in for just a restructure.  Reddick is going to want his mega new deal this summer and the Eagles would be wiser to trade him than to give it to him.

Slay played well last year.  I'm not taking cap hits to move on from him when he can still play.  Graham has already said he intends to keep playing and Cox I think will keep playing as long as teams are willing to pay him a lot of money.

He'll get a 3 year extension

Leslie Frazier would be my retread pick, and I like what Jim Leonhard has done at the college level.

Only if that 3 year extension is worth at least $100M with around $60M+ of that guaranteed.  The market was set this past offseason for high end pass rushers.  I don't think it's smart to commit that much money to an undersized guy like that who is turning 30 in September and did not have as good of a year as 2022.

There are too many other guys that they are going to have to commit money too coming up.  Dickerson's new deal is going to cost a lot.  DeVonta's new deal is going to cost a lot.  You know AJ Brown will be wanting a new deal next year.  I don't think they will give Goedert an extension other than a low bar offer but I could be wrong on that.  I bet they are going to be looking to get Sweat under a new deal on a reduced rate to take advantage of his down year.  A new Mailata deal is coming this year or next.  And you gotta re-sign Quez.

I just don't see it with Reddick staying here.

Quez will not be re-signed.

Ben Johnson was available and we are stuck with this dope. Offense would have been on octane.

We played ourselves, next year is gonna suck

In fine with Cox back I thought he had a good year

Jaelan Phillips played in 8 games

Jalen Ramsey played in 10

Xavien Howard played in 13

Jevon Holland played in 12

Jerome Baker played in 12

Fangio dealt with a lot of injuries last year

Any "exciting" pick that people want is going to be a first time DC in the NFL that will have to prove themselves. Minter mostly. Fangio is a safe pick to have a decent defense.

I have no idea then how you must think this offense is going to be able to do anything next year without his speed to take full control of the opposing defense's attention?
