The optics don't look good at all. Especially if the team and staff know that the coordinators were doing everything Siri wanted them to do and they still got the axe.

Watch the the exit conference with Siri and Howie. Howie spins it beautifully. "We have our philosophy and our approach. ..Sometimes the results are different..but we have to be consistent in our ideals." Translation...Things will be done as usual..no matter what fans think. If it would not be a Historical failure in 2023..Howie same ol samo sounds great. Consistency. But considering 2023 results and complete apathy to changing anything..other then bringing more fresh bodies.. I will be shocked if this team returns to any level of success we have been accustomed to since the SB.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Give me Brandon Jones, but I think he'll be too pricey for us.

I wouldn’t be so sure; Howie loves stuffing the Dline room. We brought in Hargrave on a rich deal (for the time) when we had Ridgeway, Jernigan, Malik Jackson, and Fletcher had just been All-Pro.

Wilkins-Carter with Davis and Milton rotating in would be a sick line. And Carter can player edge

Perfect. Exactly what this locker room needs.

Minter going with Harbaugh is a major win for thr Chargers. Just walked into an elite DC as well

I was surprised to see he only wasn’t a starter this year. He was the third safety behind Elliott and Holland.

If Nick’s role as HC really is just the "Chief Vibes Officer” did anyone ask him what the hell happened to the vibes and culture the last two months of the season and if it got that bad, what value does he bring? There’s nothing wrong with a CEO style coach. Tomlin has kept Pittsburgh afloat, albeit not very competitive and Harbaugh does a good job with it in Baltimore. But neither of those guys ever had a disaster like Nick did this year.

They can remove Johnson and Desai/Patricia and hopefully their replacements are better. But they better hope it’s all sunshine and rainbows next season. Because if/when they drop two or three straight this roster is going to get PTSD from this past season. And it’s already in everyone’s mind that Nick is a borderline dead coach walking going into next year. It can get really ugly if they face any adversity.

I think deciding to keep him really came down to two things, neither of which have to do with his future ability: 1. They don’t want to go onto their third coach in five years. Optically that’s just brutal. And 2, Nick is fine being their puppet and doing things how they want.

Harbaugh went 5-11 one year.

Holland also posted himself literally kicking rocks right after the announcement.

We went to the SB with Nick as HC and two strong coordinators.

Also, not every coach has to be universally loved and adored by every player.

If the coach is competent, players will respond.

I love Jevon Holland (good Canadian boy!), but some players not like a coach is not some massive red flag.

Yes they asked. Nick called out the specific things that went wrong and did not just give standard coach speak answers. He blamed Desai for being too inexperienced, blamed Patricia for changing too much and the players didn't have faith in him. He blamed Brian Johnson for being a first year OC and being lost. He said Hurts can't read a defense and left the pocket too much, improvised too much and he's had a stern talking to about that. He called James Bradberry "Brokeberry" and can't wait til he's cut. He blamed Howie for having garbage at LB and scrubs in the secondary. He called out the young D line for getting gassed by the end of the year. He said he's begged Kelce to stay because he can't trust Jurgens yet.

Just kidding. He said we're gonna look at everything and it starts with me. And on offense they need fresh ideas from someone outside the organization to bring his offense. Well, our offense. The Philadelphia offense. But he has to bring all the ideas, but also look at some of their old ideas of what worked. They also need to go visit some college campuses to get ideas. The new guy has to bring the offense, call the plays and bring new ideas. But it's not just the OC's offense, it's "our offense."

I don't know how to tell you this but: the coach was incompetent and the players responded. They finished 1-6 in a horrific collapse.

Fangio is a notoriously grumpy dude. Helluva coach though.

There's already been a report that he's "aloof" and doesn't go out bowling with the guys after practice.

Doesn't mean he's wrong. That system suck monkey balls. Makes corners look even worse than they are so not surprised he wasn't enthused.

So he's 2/3 at being competent with this coaching structure. The variables were the coordinators. You can make a logical argument for giving him a chance, that's all I'm saying.

Makes sense. Ramsey is a guy that likes to lock you up and talk crap. Probably not a fan of too much zone.

Kinda sounds like Dan Campbell.

You know the guy coaching in the NFCCG.
