If Eagles want Slowik, he's a hot candidate. Time to make their Sirianni move and throw their hat into the mix.

Whats the plan if you cant land him or the lions oc?

They won't draft a corner high.  They will think they have Slay returning (Bradberry should be cut) and are really excited about young guys in Ricks, Ringo and don't forget Rodgers coming off suspension.  They will think they're fine there.

Honestly, I don't mind IF they upgrade elsewhere.  The coaching sucks, so a new DC with those guys and upgrades at DE, LB and safety will help the group at corner.

The scary thing is they haven't invested 1st round picks on defense other than D line in:  Corner (22 years), LB (45 years), Safety (57 years).  Crazy.

It's been 7 years since they were burned for drafting Jones in the 2nd round

They probably won't since they never do, but it'll be a mistake. They need to remake the entire DB room. No one remotely stands out as a stud and their best player is at the very end of his career. They haven't drafted one in the first round since Lito. It's unsustainable if they want a quality secondary. You can't rely on piecing it together with trades and free agency. They've invested enough in the DL in recent years. They need to give it a break and let those guys do what you drafted them to do. But the secondary talent long term is just lacking.

Top candidate by far in my opinion

Eh, I'll take that over the extreme crashing down the line Sweat has been giving them. He recognizes the play and reacts the exact way you want him to. It's just that Palmer, I think that's who it is, is a 4.3 guy and the faster athlete wins the corner.

I'm all for bashing this team right now but that's not the play to do it on.

I agree.  I just don't get my hopes up.  I've wanted these positions addressed high in the draft for a long time.  We see really good corners and LBs go to other teams while we keep taking D linemen.  Building through the trenches is important, but you can't go that long without these other key positions getting the investment of high draft picks.

Imagine this defense with a truly great LB taken in the 1st or 2nd round.  Imagine with the top 3 picks (1st, two 2nds) they get quality guys at DE, Corner and LB.  A guy can dream.

It's time...(I have no clue about any of these guys)

Have a better shot at playing linebacker as a 5’6 Indian guy than the eagles do at drafting a linebacker in round 1.

I didn’t cause i listened to titans podcast. They were saying he looked like he lost a step and wasn’t very good this year. If you watch some of the titans all 22 in 2022 and compare it to this year it’s a massive difference in how he looks. He looks like he aged by 10 seasons

Yep.  That’s what happens with DB’s. (Even look at Bradberry this season)  When they hit a certain age/injury wall - they tend to drop and drop fast.

It’s the main they used to have a never sign DB’s to deals after they get close to 30 during the Banner years.  That philosophy changed during the Howie years mostly due to the disaster of what happened after they let Dawk walk.  Probably one of the worst player/personnel decisions in franchise history.

That said, it might not be a bad idea to bring that philosophy back - with exceptions to long term elite players.

I'm probably better than Morrow, even at 135 pounds.

I love Ertz and think he was spectacular in 2017 but I think Goedert’s ceiling is higher than Ertz’ based on the fact that he is much bigger, can play much more physically (run after the catch) and is a much better blocker - so a more "complete” TE.  Goedert can do just about everything the position of TE requires and can do it at the highest levels when given the opportunity.  This current offensive scheme basically schemes Goedert as the 3rd/4th option on the vast majority of passing plays and never schemes him up the middle of the field - where he should be schemed - the way Andy Reid schemes Kelce.

We've unfortunately seen Goedert's ceiling which is about 600 yards a year with 4 games missed and maybe 3 TDs. He's given no reason for us to think he can be anything more than that in his 6 seasons as an Eagle.

It’s the chicken masala that runs through your blood that makes you able to cover better than morrow

At what cost?

Panthers supposedly got a franchise qb and what did it get them

Its a sunk cost in alot if cases

Like I said id rather take my chances with a foles, baker mayfield rich gannon, chris chandler etc... and role with a punishing running game and dominant D.

agreed.  cheap QB.   I'll fill my roster with cheap running QBs so much so that I don't even have a QB. Running QBs,  and I'd want a legit big running back.  Mariota is cheap and he was able to get 10 points in a half.  Not great,  but mid.  He costs $5M this year.

While I agree we should be wary of 30+ CBs, going from 2nd team all-pro to the worst CB in football is one hell of an outlier event.

Nope.

QB - Wentz/Foles > Hurts/Mariota
RB - Blount/Ajayi/Clement >> Swift/Gainwell/Scott
TE - Ertz/Celek/Burton >> Goedert/Stoll/Calcaterra
LT - Peters/Vaitai > Mailata
LG - Wiz < Dickerson
C - Kelce > Kelce
RG - Brooks > Jurgens/Opeta/Steen
RT - Johnson > Johnson
WR - Jeffery/Smith/Agholor < Brown/Smith/Watkins

This team's 'talent' is overvalued, even offensively.  They should have been way better than they were, but the 2017 team was better,

And there's no point in comparing the defense.  Landslide for 2017.

It's funny, I don't honestly think we're far off in the talent category here, the biggest part was they played loose like they liked playing the game in 2017. 2022/23 they did somewhat, but this year they have looked tight and like it's work playing the game. Just not the same atmosphere.

Yeah.  He must have really lost a step or two after his last few injuries.  Sad to see.

Look... popcorn can hurt a guy's feelings.

Now... throwing a snowball at an opposing WR during a play in the end zone... that's just being engaged in the game.

Fans are supposed to be FOR the teams they're "fans" of.

Bradberry need to be cut. He’s an absolute liability.

along with literally all the LBs
